With some embarrassment, I have to admit that for the past three days I've been turning on my PS5, getting absolutely destroyed by this monstrosity called the Hell House, and then turning it off again.

I'm playing on Normal difficulty, and I really don't want to lower it.

Do you guys have any tips? Cloud has 7 materia slots, and Aerith also has 7, counting both their weapon and armor.

So, I am planing to do a replay of Remake and Rebirth before Revelation releases in spring. So far I only played the games in vanilla.

Seeing the shader injector mod (and having a stronger PC now) I would like to mod my next playthrough.

Besides the shader injector, what are some essential mods you guys would recommend?
(can be QOL, Cosmetic, or gameplay, ... )

Hey folks. First time playing Rebirth on PC.

Remake needed forced DX11, but worked nicely.

Rtx 4070. Installed on SSD. 4k resolution.

I have DX12 Asynch Shader Compile mod installed.

Frame rate is all good, but the pop in within the Nibelheim flashback is absolutely insane. Even with the texture quality set to low. I have DLSS enabled, but tested without it, same deal.

Panning camera around the inside of the inn, everything is popping in and out, following the camera. I've never seen anything like it.

Any suggestions or ideas? Surely others haven't just ignored this haha.

Hi, I just can't seem to make the mod work on my pc

My issue is that once the shader are compiled, i should get something in "shader target"
Except i have nothing, no matter how many times i tried
I already :
-Got rid of every other mod
-Deleted several times the shader cache
-Tried the mod 1.5/2.0 and 2.1

So far i couldn't make it work
If you have any idea how to make it work, please help me :(

I'm sorry but how would that be supposed to work? Like people say "Oh Hojo is gonna mind control Chadley in part 3 and make us fight him" and I'm like have you seen him? He's an android with the body shape of a young teen and as we saw with Gilgamesh he ain't got any combat capabilities or boost of any kind. Oh sure, he analyzed the group and every enemy we faced. Cool, but he still got that weak human like body. Unless he's like that robot from The Amazing World of Gumball, he ain't doing shit to Cloud & co.

Love rebirth so far, had a blast with the vast majority of it so far, even most of the minigames

But truly what baffles me is why don't we have independent camera controls in a triple A game, the lock on being a fixed camera angle until you unlock and relock is maddening

And don't get me started on chocobo de glide

It's like they had brought on a twin stick shooter developer specifically for this aspect

I really love these games (Remake and Rebirth). I finished these games 6 months ago. I read the book Trace of two pasts. I love the team, ... I really love Tifa and Aerith! I would like to play another time, talk all the time about these games. However, I would like to wait for the third part to complete those games.

Currently, it's very hard to find a good game with this kind of story and relationship.

Quite frankly, it's just this: There are too many party members. I just finished Corel and unlocked Cait Sith, thought 'oh, this is neat. But I'm never going to use him, just like the original game.'

The party at the very start of Rebirth is already pretty well rounded, as far as I'm concerned. Cloud is your excellent all-arounder, Barrett is your ranged tank/support, Aerith is your caster and zoner, Tifa is your fast melee striker, and Red is uh... also a fast melee striker but with more of a focus on defense and parries I guess. Yuffie gets added later and her kit adds a lot of flexible utility due to her ability to attack from range and with any element.

Just in terms of party size, with only 3 members in an active group and only 3 premade slots, there's no space for Cait Sith as far as I can tell. Just for diversity sake I run one party that's Cloud/Cait/Aerith (team 'I struggle with your mechanics), one that's Cloud/Barret/Tifa (team avalanche), and one that's Cloud/Yuffie/Red (the kids table).

This is going to get even WORSE in Revelations, as despite us being down a party member (yeah spoilers sorry) we're gonna get TWO more, and neither of them is gonna replace that missing party members niche (double spoilers) unless maybe they redesign Cait's to make him more magic oriented (three strikes).

Now obviously there's very little Square could do here, as they're adapting an older IP and if they didn't include everyone from the OG game there would probably literally be terrorism in response, and unfortunately Cait's gimmick in the OG was 'silly man with the gambling mechanics'.

Am I just stupid? Do I lack the elite ball knowledge necessary, here? How should I be kitting out/building this guy? I know he has the 2nd highest str after Tifa and the 2nd highest magick attack after Aerith but also like the 3rd worst MP pool, apparently. Right now in addition to the usual purples (an MP up, Steadfast + precision block) I have steal (to exploit his +100 luck), morph (for the gimmick I guess), fortification and empowerment on him.

Eventhough the World Cup is over, here is an added bonus of me playing the Run Wild mini game and scoring the most goals. No lives deducted.

Seriously, it would've been so easy to have these two often being jealous of each other, but they decided to tone that down in favour of making them besties.

The fact aerith uplifts tifa by seemingly making her feel more confident like in costa del sol, tifa being there for aerith during the train graveyard, or plain sillier moments of companionship like tifa helping with aerith's back in kalm. There are so many great moments between these girls alone and that's what makes me so sad that we most likely won't be getting any more of it in revelation :( but we can still hope.

Im just finding it so boring, i already have rebirth installed,but will i miss anything big if i just move on?

I played through this final fantasy 7 remake twice previously on playstation, i now have it on xbox play anywhere. Ive looked into save transfers online and it appears possible. Ive spent hours trying to do it with xbox save file converter and other methods and it doesnt work. Im looking for advice on how to do it or if anyone has a basic save with normal mode unlocked they could share that would be great. I want to play it again but dont want to have to play through on normal.

What i mean by the question is this - i was under the impression that remake is disk 1, rebirth is disk 2 and part 3 will be disk 3. Im aware there is changes to the story but it generally follows the same beats.

Is that incorrect? Because although i havent finished remake or rebirth, ive heard that Aerith is still alive at the end of rebirth? Which really doesnt work with what i was thinking.

If so im very curious how they will fit all of what disk 3 includes into the final part.

The ending of Revelation has already been partially shown in Rebirth. The altar “Wake up” sequence isn’t a fake-out—it is an incomplete scene that will be resumed once Cloud reaches the true convergence point.

the EXACT scene of aeris revival has ALREADY been shown to us in rebirth (1:00:18 timestamp) , just no one fucking realized that it was cut short and that we are going to loop back to it at the end of revelation

aeris dies/doesnt die, then lifestream aeris appears and starts fighting with cloud and portalling zack around.

after the battle, lifestream aeris portals herself out again and cloud is with “seemingly dead” aeris briefly one more time.

he says “wake up”, and aeris opens her eyes. then the scene is interrupted and cloud is returned to the cracked-sky world where she is dead. but now he knows he isn’t in the final world line yet; he still has to reach the point where he saves her.

we know the ghost aeris he’s speaking to is the lifestream/white whisper one, because she has been beaming herself and zack in and out of the previous battles, and even said in-game “i saw what you did!” immediately after cloud “saved” her. he just needs to get back there and figure out how to do it for realies this time.

so the journey in revelation is going to be about how to converge on the altar moment once again, and this time continue the scene with cloud saying wake up and aeris opening her eyes that was cut short.

this is not a problem of time travel. we will journey to where all worlds converge , the Edge of Creation . i think this will be something that seph brings us to when the lifestream converges during meteor, or maybe before. the 7 seconds is possibly the time we have to save aeris once we get to the point . and what is that point, that place, that time, that memory?

its the single most important point in reality, for Cloud, for Aeris, for Sephiroth, and for us, the player. the point where reality can be rewritten. the altar , the moment where aeris lives or dies, and thus we change fate forever.

so by whatever means, in Revelation we will reach those seven seconds again (im assuming seph eventually gets his meteor strike , cloud joins him in the final awakening, and they both get put at the edge of creation).

then we save aeris, the interrupted altar scene resumes, cloud says wake up, aeris wakes up, and this time the scene continues instead of cutting away.

i really think thats it guys, and the most shocking thing is the exact scene they will use is 5 seconds that they already showed us in rebirth!!!!! (see timestamp at start)

the rest is just gonna be getting there.

by the way, why am i absolutely sure this is whats going to happen? the whole POINT of remake is to revive aeris. every single element of it is about changing the timeline and converging on a new reality. even the commercial 10 years ago said “is that girl going to be revived?”

and, because, for every character in the game and for every player of the game, there is only 1 point in the game which matters more than any other. by FAR. that is the altar scene which everything depends on.

so it is completely unquestionable that the game is about converging world lines and memory lines (NOT timelines) towards an edge of creation where we will be able to alter fate once and for all in a way that affects cloud, the party, sephiroth, aeris, and us the players in one final way
