Obviously Apple and Raven are the two main characters but I genuinely feel like Briar could be considered one too. She’s truly the only one besides the two former that got to really delve into her decisions to follow her destiny and she was the main character of the Thronecoming episode. I’ve always loved Briar and appreciated how much development and depth was given to her.

Disclosure: This is not to meant to be slander against Apple, but more so criticism of the writing.

What Apple is saying is that she thinks Raven was being selfish for not signing the Storybook of Legends and potentially endangering everyone else and their stories. However, my issue this is: why would everyone else’s stories be affected?

Raven and Apple’s stories are connected so realistically if anyone’s stories would be affected by Raven’s choice, it’s Apple, not the other students. I know it’s meant to showcase Apple’s fear of the unknown and the book turned out to be fake anyways, but at the same time, it also felt like a flimsy attempt to make Raven also being in the wrong along with Apple.

Why is it that while I do understand that the most notable stories were written by them, like Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel, there are fairy tale characters from stories by other authors who aren't the Brothers Grimm, and they don't have OCs, like Hans Christian Andersen, who wrote the original Little Mermaid, and the mermaid does have a destiny in EAH, as Meshelle is shown to be the next little mermaid, or Lewis Carroll, who was the author of the original Alice in Wonderland tale, and the Alice in Wonderland characters do have destinies in EAH (Madeline, daughter of the Mad Hatter; Lizzy, daughter of the Queen of Hearts; and Bunny Blanc, the daughter of the White Bunny)? Why don't we see them in the world of Ever After High like the Brothers Grimm are?

I’m gonna be honest, whenever I ask my friends this question they always said they choose Monster High because they know more about it and it’s more nostalgic to them. I’ve watched both franchises and I always thought Ever After High had more interesting visuals and storylines. Not to say that embracing “freaky” flaws is not a good message though and I think some of the Monster High movies address problems like sexism and racism in interesting ways. I really like “Friday Night Frights” and “Ghoul’s Rule”.

However, I was always more drawn to the Ever After High series and how they tackled parental pressure, the hierarchy of endings of fairytale characters, and even choosing between supporting your friends beliefs or forging your own path separate from them. I just found that it tickled my brain and touched my heart in all the right ways. But I don’t know maybe it’s because I watched Ever After High before Monster High that I have this opinion. I don’t think it’s because I like fairytales more than monsters because I love both equally.

if sleeping beauty is saved by the prince, they marry and have children. then briar beauty, their child, has to follow into her mother’s footsteps. who saves her? wouldn’t the prince’s descendant have to save her and wouldn’t that then technically be her brother?

Hope this isn’t a weird thing to post about. I like to write in my free time, and have started working on a project recently that started off as a rewrite of EAH. It was just a fanfiction idea at first, but now I’ve been making massive changes to the characters appearances, names, backstories and other aspects about them. And now I’m wondering if I should just make an original story inspired by EAH, or if it’s too derivative?

While I am changing the characters a lot, I really enjoy the worldbuilding and plot of the original series, and can’t think of what I would change to make it better. I like the conflict around signing the storybook of legends, and the order of events in general. I’m still very new to writing, so these things don’t come naturally to me. I don’t know. Do you think I should just write a fanfiction or try to change the story so that it’s not directly ripping off certain plot points?

Also, sorry if this is vague, I’m mostly in the early drafting stage right now, so nothing is really set in stone. I’ve been trying to take inspiration from other fantasy-inspired media like Twisted Wonderland as well to make it more unique, I’m just not sure if it’s enough. Thank you :)

Like yeah, I know, she is the sister of Cerise Hood, who is destined to be the next Little Red Riding Hood. But outside of that, is there anything else saying that Ramona is specifically the next destined Big Bad Wolf of the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale?

Because there's also the story of the Three Little Pigs, and the Big Bad Wolf is also in that fairytale. And the Three Little Pigs have been seen several times at Ever After High (well, that is, I til they were replaced with the Three Billy Goat Gruffs in later webisodes for some reason.) So what's to say that Ramona isn't actually the Big Bad Wolf in the Three Little Pigs' story?

I mean, either way, she is unfortunately gonna be killed in either story. But I am just asking how do we know she's specifically the Big Bad Wolf in the Little Red Riding Hood/Cerise's Story?
