Drama Creator of EVEForge is an active contributor to botting software

It appears Mr ELFX from Goonswarm Federation has been contributing to botting software repos on the same account he links from his EVEForge website.

https://eveforge.org/ check the bottom left.

This takes you to his zkill and his github where he has been making contributions to a known botting software repo. I'm not going to link the repo itself for the sake of not spreading it, but if you go to his github account it is there. Below is a contribution he made for drone recall for when a local enters local.

I guess if you are going to fill the game with bots maybe do it on a different github account than the one you plaster on reddit.

Discussion Part of <current problem> is that the average EVE player is 45 years old and not 20 year olds who can skip class

Kind of a meme but it's true though.

EVE population is largely a bunch of dudes in their 40s who keep up with the game as a hobby and aren't really interested in constantly pushing for war and brawling. If they were, you'd see groups splinter off all the time because they're bored farming safely in null.

At this point CCP is pretty much trying to design the game around/against the will of a bunch of dudes who were supposed to get their colonoscopy 5 years ago

FCplease FCPlease - Terajoule Calculation in the Fleet Window

With the new Ansiblex changes to using capacitor, it would be helpful to provide a 'Total Fleet TJ' calculation to the Fleet Window. That way commanders could know at a glance if the whole fleet can make it through a given JB on their route.

Drama New player experience, lol...

Upvotes

I'm a new player coming from Albion Online, my IQ is about average so that's already a disadvantage for this game. I think Eve is made for only the smartest of people who can make sense of all the stuff in Eve's interface. I'm stubborn though and I'm battling on anyway. I started off in Exordium, then after a while left it for the "real" world, got blown up in my first faction war experiment (as expected, so nothing wrong with that!), did some more pve stuff, sold some lucky loot, then tore out my hair when trying to understand the overview filters from the Eve University wiki, what the hell is all that...

Then I thought okay, let's go back to basics and do some of that epic arc holographic stuff back in Exordium. I got handed a ship and weapons that I hadn't trained, ok, whatever, throw some skill points on it. Then I realized my dialog was bugged and I missed the entire story of the first mission, had no clue what I was supposed to do and took me ages to figure out, then I had to attack enemies with this single weapon that was apparently shooting little rubber balls because stuff took ages to kill. Seriously, when does the fun start? Are all Eve players masochistic?? Well screw this epic arc stuff I guess. I want to keep playing solo for now, any suggestions what might be fun to explore as a complete noob? Or should I give up? Despite all the clunkiness and bugginess there's something intriguing about this game, and I do like a challenge...

Hi, Chad here. It's been a while since we released Who Dares Wins: Blackout (like.. almost 7 years. yikes.)

Lots has happened since then. For you, and for all the lovely humans in the corp. But we're still here, and we're still having a lot of fun. First with Minmatar Fleet, now with OnlyFleets.

This latest release is a tribute to the adventures we went on over the last year. Thanks u/BearThatCares and the rest of the crew for having us. We're excited to create some new material in our new home @ OF.

Question How do people use jump freighters deep into remote null sec?

As the title states, how do they do it with nowhere to dock? All I can think of would be to somehow set up a POS in each system on the route, but I think you need sovereignty to do that.

I just don't understand how the logistics for jump freighters work when there are systems that do not have stations to dock in but are necessary to pass through a jump route?

Do you just risk it and sit the jump freighter in space and hope for the best? That seems....risky.

I used to live in null over a decade ago (cobalt edge IIRC, fidelas constans) and we had a guy that did JF runs but I have no idea how he did it.

Discussion Newcomer looking to learn

Hello, I have decided to give EVE a shot and try it out. I love space games and exploration etc.

While looking into the game and watched some videos online it seems that more questions just keep coming up and would rather chat or talk with people online to figure things out. I am looking for an active Corp that is willing to take newcomers and teach them. I don’t want any handouts I really wanna learn the game.

I am currently working on the industrialist quests from the starting area, I know EVE is a game of you make your own destiny and learning skills take time, while doing so it hard to decide what road to even take when you don’t know the possibilities. I will admit I am one to get scared to get locked into one thing but if I do end up liking the skill I decided with I can stick to it. I just don’t wanna waste any money or skills. From what I was advised it to pick the Magic18? And then work on other things but yeah that’s all I have so far.

Any advise is welcomed I just would like to connect with some actual players and learn more as I go. ❤️

As ANSI usage isn't tracked, spies will be draining cap before engagements for additional zone pressure.

To balance (the overall intent), I propose WH projection nerfs too.

Event Events for everyone PLS, Fenris?

After this recent rather terrible event in which the usual bling masters, including myself, ran sites in multi billion T3Cs while plebs, aka newer players ran them in HACs, I thought it's about time that Fenris had a good hard think about what they're trying to achieve with these events. Are they trying to keep highsec isklords on board? Are they trying to make the game "interesting" for all the poor sods who only recently skilled into T2 weapons in cruisers? Are they trying to make Alphas envious because 15 year player xDEATHLORDx with his 2 billion fit Astero is nicking all the hacking sites? Are they trying to "ENCOURAGE CONFLICT" inside the sites with people going suspect when dudette nicks the loot from the wreck? What is the point? The loot from the last event, specialist drones that are only marginally useful, hordes of implants that crashed the market for the next few months, 5 minute boosters for FW matches or catching someone, or the hilariously bad anti-Breacher DC was spectacularly bad. The short time boosters expire at the weekend, so what was the point of getting them at all, since there's no way you'll use them all by then? This is par for the course since then CCP dropped actual fun events like the Guristas Easter Egg hunt four years ago (T1 dessie and T2 frigs down) where everybody had an actual chance of actually winning a site.

This is crap, to put it mildly. The Breacher pod is still hugely OP and its mechanics are still massively skewed, anti-Breacher DC or not. A Cenotaph should not be able to kill a dreadnaught or a titan. The events leave out all those people that Fenris made that god-awful Exordium region for. The events only reward those who are have high skills and even higher isk balances. Therefore I propose the following two events:$

  1. An event which allows t1 fit t1 cruisers with absolutely no implants, no drugs and no faction weapons or ammo. Let the players' skill determine who gets the loot. Let the player who gets the most damage on the boss get the loot. Make it necessary to PvP fit their ships, i.e. web and scram, else the boss just warps off and nobody wins, with the bonus that you can scram Dudette who nicked the loot and everyone can shoot them and they can shoot you back.
  2. An event for corvettes, with the same t1 weapons, implants, drugs and faction ammo restrictions as the cruiser event. Players need to fight one another as only the last man on grid enables the boss to spawn. Everyone goes suspect on entering the site. It won't be worth it for edgelords to camp the entry gates, apart from the same people who gank Ventures, I suppose. Make it that there is no warping out until there is only one person left on grid, i.e. like the old arenas that were similar, but without a timer. Make Corvettes Great Again! MCGA!

Sigh. Won't happen of course, but one can dream.

FCplease FCPlease: NES SKINs

I assume FC would prefer SKINs to be just another player created item just like any other thing in the game, but why not have the NES store offer more of the SKINs they already made?

I was surprised yesterday when I remembered to claim the free SP from NES to see some Ratta Sunset / Ghost Bird SKINs (not the whole range for either OFC) which always looked good to me. Was just bummed the entire series wasn't available (ex: cerb looking real nice in Ratta).

I get that fomo stores are a thing or w/e, but if we're going to do that, can we at least get an entire catalog to browse? The current NES offerings could just be expanded imo.

PS: Heartsurge SKIN rerun February 2027???

Discussion Nerfing Ansi's isn't enough to get FCCP's desired end goal

Okay, kinda-sorta-but-also-not-clickbait title out of the way, I'm actually serious about the topic. FCCP is obviously nerfing Ansis to shrink alliance sprawl, that much is obvious.

And to be honest? To preface this, I'm completely fine with it. But I think there needs to be a carrot to go along with the stick for this to really get the effect they're going for.

Shrinking alliance sprawl is fine, probably healthy for the game, but this introduces a conflicting problem with another slightly important system in the game. Equinox.

Right now Equinox is a very 'build wide not tall' system that encourages and. to an extent, requires alliances to take hefty chunks of space to be able to:

  1. Install infrastructure
  2. Install PVE upgrades for mining, industry, and ratting
  3. Spread those out to keep indexes down, and stop people from crowding systems
  4. Have enough systems to be able to feed said upgrades

I could be wrong (read: I probably am wrong) but even after the updates and buffs to Equinox, there are still overall less PVE sites available. Be it mining or ratting, there are just less of them overall than there were pre-Equinox. If this is the case, then shrinking alliances down is only going to exacerbate the issue of overcrowding.

So what if FCCP also tied buffing Equinox upgrades to capital proximity too?

Ansi jump cost multipliers shows that FCCP has a back end system that accounts for proximity to your capital, so why not capitalize on that and tie benefits to it too? What if there were bonuses to PVE sites within a certain distance of the capital that made them cheaper? Or for mining, also made them spawn faster?

This would even further incentivize organizations to build very dense pockets of PVE activity centered around their capital system that trickled off and became more expensive the farther you got from your capital system.

I feel like this would have a few knock-on effects like creating target-rich environments for roamers to hunt in, and would be a huge additive push to get alliances to scale down how much space they own.

Am I dreaming (yes, shut up, let me dream) or is this too whimsical of thinking?

**Edit** - I also just realized, tying buffs to the Capital System will also help new, smaller alliances who own just a few systems by making every one of their upgrades the best/cheapest they can be, giving them a better chance to get on their feet.

TL:DR - Nerfing Ansis is a good start, but I doubt it'll be enough. What if we also tied buffing Equinox Sov Upgrades to proximity to the capital as well?

Discussion Post Ansi Asset Safety and Structure Proliferation

Now that FC has begun to address mass projection I think it’s a good time to discuss another issue/bad mechanic that leads to a lack of fights in nullsec.

CCP should consider an asset safety removal using similar mechanics to the proposed ansi changes. IE: an absence of asset safety outside 5LY’s from your sov capital. Even something like “5ly pefect asset safety, 10ly no caps, 15ly no battleships.” Currently there’s no limit on asset safety in supposedly dangerous nullsec space. Time and time again we see groups simply ping their members to let things go to asset safety. Wether it’s deployment forts, staging keepstars, or just far flung sig astras. These structures aren’t fought over because there’s no consequence for losing them outside of a core and some clones. With the lack of asset safety it would encourage defenders to actually strike the enemy staging structure.

SOV and what you can drop, similar to above keepstars should be limited by sov capital distance. Keepstar evac chains have made the game entirely too safe. If you need evidence of this just look what happened to all those PH pilots when they had to actually fly their supers and titans and not just jump keepstar->keepstar->cyno->F1->cyno to keep. Quick aside, lowsec/npc null keepstars should receive grandfather status similar to the highsec one’s and no longer be deployable outside of sov.

Tldr: remove asset safety and keepstar spam.
