Fortunately, I was able to use my natural hair instead of a wig so I saved a couple bucks on that but yeah, I went to go see EoE in theaters and I saw rei and shinji cosplayers

So I watched both movies (funny enough in the same theater) and personally had a really good time. Just wish they could’ve gotten some bigger theaters. Cause I don’t know about ya’ll but my theater was soo small, but super packed for both movies which was cool. Also wish they had some of these posters up for sale, like I would’ve bought both of them on the spot personally. sucks though that this is pretty much the only anniversary event (at least to my knowledge) that we’ll have in the states. Also I went to the aventura mall theater in miami, and some dude kept dressing up as spider man for both movies which was cool.

This movie is short as hell lol. I usually watch Episodes 25 and 26 before rewatching EoE.

I always took the credits in the middle to be something that was supposed to jar you as a movie goer, but it just didn’t translate in my living room. However after watching it yesterday, it made so much more sense!

All of us have been jarred/scared/emotional/forever changed by this series. We were taken to a world that on the surface didn’t look like ours, but was very much human in its complexities. It was like a dream. And when we all watched it together in the theater; we were all Fanta together.

We were in a fever dream and Shinji deciding to give each of us the opportunity to connect with others in reality, and Rei choosing to destroy herself to grant Shinji his and humanity that wish, we are reminded that WE have that same opportunity to connect with others…

That’s what the ending was about for us

We are on the beach with Asuka and Shinji; just like Asuka caresses Shinji’s face to show empathy and love, we too deserve that love… just like Shinji violated his friendship… we too are guilty of terrible behavior…

Once Asuka says “disgusting” and Shinji and us are held accountable - the house lights go up, and we are immediately OUT of the Fanta. We are immediately jolted back into reality.

And now the responsibility of us IS on us…

It’s now our turn to connect with others, to connect with ourselves, to live in reality, to give ourselves grace for our mistakes (Asuka), and hold ourselves accountable for our decisions (Shinji)… and live to the fullest…

and literally nothing in the show (as far as i can tell) has hinted to or explained why the angels look the way they look

Phrasing it like that is her way of holding out hope that he will in fact return. It assumes that he survives. Thats the main intention behind her saying it but she doesn’t know how better to say it so that it’s more true to her feelings. just like Shinji in the “hedgehog dilemma“ episode.

I'm happy for y'all to be able to watch Death & Rebirth and EoE but as a European I gotta say I'm pissed we don't get the same treatment over here.

Never watched anything Evangelion related in a movie theater and would just love to see that shit live. :(

Anybody else here drop by this classic theatre in D-Town? About to watch EoE for the first time on the big screen and subbed at that (was a ADV kid), looking forward to it!

To start the movie was incredible and to watch it in IMAX was as amazing experience as I thought it was going to be.

But some, not all, of the people there were SOOOO annoying. Talking during the movie and laughing during important/emotional scenes specifically the hospital scene, misato kiss scene, and asukas final battle they just kept laughing or talking

Did not ruin my experience but definitely didn’t make it better. Hope it wasn’t like this for anyone else

I had such a good time being able to finally see EoE on the big screen! It was so much fun seeing everyone dress up!!

10/10 movie.

When i was little, my dad gave me this plush, which he bought around when eva first came out. Growing up, watching eva, and eventually going to this movie with him was awesome.

I tried finding song and original video but nothing. I got this video long time ago on youtube but idk if its connected with this youtuber named ryuma, since he doesnt have anything uploaded.

I saw EoE in theaters yesterday and it caused me to finally make this post because I have always thought it but wondered if this is how it was meant to be perceived. In the third impact when rei decides to grant Shinjis wish instead of gendohs it is Rei that appears first after that and they are connected to each other along with a load of other things like Rei asking him what does he want along with Masato and Asuka and in the kitchen scene Shinji says I love you and Asuka calls him a liar which results in him killing her. In the end Shinji rejects oneness and would rather pretend to understand people than have no individuals at all, causing Rei to kill herself to end the third impact and grant Shinjis wish. Does Asuka being on the beach represent the idea that he would rather “pretend” to understand her rather than his true desire which may have been Rei?

The only one that was showing it was far away and it was a dangerous city apparently 💔💔
