News/Release GameHub Lite v5.1.8 (SECURITY UPDATE)

GameHub Lite v5.1.8

Security: Steam token redaction in logs

GameHub Lite 5.1.8 fixes a logging issue where Steam authentication-related values could appear in diagnostic logs. In some cases, logs could include fields such as steamToken, refreshToken, or accessToken from Steam login/launch flows.

Publicly posted logs containing these fields should be deleted or redacted.

IMPORTANT

This should go without saying but If you find any security issues, please reach out PRIVATELY. I have not checked if this issue is still present in recent GameHub versions, already ruined my one day off I was spending with my family by the person who reported this publicly and I do not plan on spending any more time on this.

Changelog

The fix adds centralized log redaction for Steam/auth token fields, Steam QR login URLs, JWT-like token strings, and launch command token arguments before logs are written. This covers the app loggers, JavaSteam logging, and the PC launch-log file writer.

This release also pins local patch builds to apktool 2.12.1

News/Release Release ARMSX2 2.6.4.3 · ARMSX2/ARMSX2

Thumbnail

Dirge of Cerberus gets the biggest improvement this update. The emulator now disables hardware readbacks for the game, removing a major performance bottleneck and making it run much better on supported devices. Credit to BMDHacks.

Hardware readback overrides are working properly again. Some games rely on these built in overrides for correct rendering and performance. Games like Everybody's Golf 4 will now automatically use the intended settings again.

The Emotion Engine (EE) received a 2 to 3 percent performance improvement. It isn't a huge jump, but since the EE is the PS2's main CPU, every game benefits a little from the optimization. Credit to BMDHacks.

Nintendo Joy Con D Pad mapping has been fixed, so the D Pad now works correctly.

A Fast Forward speed slider has been added. Instead of only Unlimited, you can now choose speeds from 2x to 10x, giving more control when skipping cutscenes or slower sections.

A Library Opacity slider has been added under Settings, letting you adjust the transparency of the game library.

Recently Played received two changes. You can now remove individual games from the Recently Played section without clearing the whole list, and the emulator now exports your Recently Played list as a text file for companion launchers and other external tools. Credit to Misantronic for the text file export.

Fixed the issue where some games stayed paused after closing the pause menu.

The emulator now warns you if your cheats or patches are outdated, making them easier to spot after an update.

I know the developer, but I'm not part of the ARMSX2 team. I'm sharing this update because I enjoy following the project and thought others might find it useful. The developer is genuinely a great guy so I don't mind posting it :)

Official Playstation2EmulationonAndroid sub reddit is r/Playstation2onAndroid( Not related to the guy causing troubles to the devs it is created by the devs of ARMSX2 and other PS2 android emulators jpolo was the mod before he got ban ) If you have anything PS2 related post on this sub it will be much appreciated :)

Also a lot of people ask about the Obtainium link so I will link it in every post https://github.com/RJNY/Obtainium-Emulation-Pack/releases/tag/v7.11.0

Discussion I think everyone needs to know these two

Post image
123 Upvotes

These two are the best apps to download large files on Android.

both are good but they have their own differences although they aren't that much, for example GOPEED i found it was faster than AB DM but unlike AB it doesn't have a built-in browser and it also only lets you copy paste the link of the exact file not the web page which is hard to get in mobile.

and for AB DM some of you might say why not use ADM from Google play store, you're right but I've seen that this one is faster although i don't think it has an ad blocker which might suck for some of you who dont know how to get around those ads.

but again the main difference between these two is the built-in browser in AB DM and That Gopeed is faster, you could use adm if you want to but i figured i will mention this one since AB DM looks WAY better.

that's it i hope this gets what it deserves and if you guys need anything just DM me happy to help.

Discussion How much RAM do you actually need for PC emulation?

TLDR - Get atleast 12GB of RAM if you are interested in PC emulation

8GB or less

Very limiting, you might experience crashes if you try to play newer games or they might not boot at all, ram boost can help you but it's not a reliable solution

Highly recommend avoiding 8GB if possible and getting 12GB

12GB

This here is the comfortable territory, almost all games will run since you can hit a goal of 8GB RAM and 2GB VRAM for games

16GB or more

You might see a small performance boost from having more access to ram and you might run some games that 12GB can't but if they will actually perform well is another question, but hey, it's never bad to have more ram!

Showcase A single-screen mod for the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time just came out and it's amazing.

I'm playing it on Citra MMJ (Android) with the mod applied, plus a 1080p texture pack and the free camera mod (which actually comes bundled with this single-screen mod already). The result is really impressive: you get to play OoT3D in a much more widescreen-like aspect ratio, without that unused bottom screen taking up space, and the visuals are refreshed thanks to the textures.

It's not 16:9, but I believe the creator will add support for that in the future. Even so, it already looks incredible as is.

The mod also works on real 3DS hardware.

Help Increasing FPS for Dark Souls Remastered

Post image
10 Upvotes

How could I increase FPS in Dark Souls Remastered? I use game assembly for Switch and emulate by Citron. I have very unstable FPS. Sometimes it is 15 and something it is 30 or even 35.

I think 25-30 FPS will be good and playable. My configurations is: Redmi Pad Pro; Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 Mobile Platform. Octa-core Max 2.4GHzb 6+2 GB RAM; Android 16.

Should I try another configurations in Citron? Or maybe I should try to emulate by Winlator?

Showcase Finally I can use bypass charging with my gamepad now😍

So, I got this telescopic gamepad with a built-in cooler last month, and it's awesome! The cooler works great, but the problem was I couldn't use bypass charging because there's no pass-through option. I was looking for a way to fix this, so I started searching for a right-angle cable, and luckily I found one! It's perfect for my phone while it's docked in the gamepad. Now I've got the ultimate combo of cooling, comfort, and bypass charging, so I don't have to worry about high power draw while gaming! 🫡🫡

By the way, if you're wondering what gamepad it is, it's called the Outlaw Nava, also sold as the Coolshark jk02, and the cable is from Portronics (not a promotion, just sharing!).

Question PSA for those who think about purchasing a Xiaomi phone or tablet for emulation

Don't...spend your money elsewhere on another brand that isn't Xiaomi or its breed. 😑 I've been on HyperOS 3 for quite a while now and didn't notice apps getting killed for exceeding certain memory limits. But these past few days I noticed both Winlator and Eden can no longer run 'heavy' games without crashing, starting with massive slowdowns within 5 minutes of gameplay. 🥴 I don't know what they added or when they changed anything on my device but they were able to force this shit on me. I guess it's true what they say...when you buy these chinese brands, they own everything unless you are willing to risk bricking your device by rooting and removing the shit inside them. 😬 Until these chinese brands listen to users complaints, please do not purchase any Xiaomi for now. If it makes you breathe easier, emulators like Dolphin and Arnsx2 Refresh don't seem to be affected by this shit...yet. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This is another solid update. It adds a lot of useful fixes across the emulator along with a few new features.

The biggest addition is the new audio options under Settings > Audio. OpenSL ES Audio is a compatibility mode for devices where the default AAudio backend crackles, glitches, or refuses to start. It adds a bit of latency, so it's best left off unless you're having audio issues. (Listed as OpenSL ES Audio (compatibility) in Settings > Audio.)"

Lightwieght Audio skips reverb processing to free up CPU time. Lower end devices might gain a few FPS, but you'll lose echo and reverb effects. ( Listed as Lightweight Audio (skip reverb) in Settings > Audio.)

SPU2 SIMD Audio is an experimental option. It uses a faster NEON path for reverb processing to reduce CPU usage, which can help performance on CPU limited devices. SPU2 had worked good from my experience ( SPU2 SIMD is not Mentioned in the changelog saying from my personal experience your experience may very based on your device)

GameDB fixes and Speedhacks now have their descriptions back, making it much easier for newer users to understand what each option does before changing it.

A controller vibration strength slider has also been added under Controls. It works with both touch haptics and physical controllers and is adjustable from 0% to 200%. A nice addition for anyone using a controller with rumble support.

RetroAchievements received quite a few improvements too. You can now adjust achievement sound volume, achievement sounds work with Do Not Disturb enabled, achievement points appear before launching a game, and your profile picture along with Hardcore and Softcore points now appears in the menus.

Per-game Reset has been fixed and now properly resets game specific settings while keeping cheats and patches intact.

Other changes include a refreshed shader cache, custom on-screen stats now appearing as soon as a game boots, a fix for the custom OSD requiring a restart to appear, the OSD now being disabled by default on new installs, audio no longer cutting out after leaving the pause menu, an animated library background for older Mali GPUs that can't render the live XMB wave, and several GS and renderer fixes from @sashkinbro. It also fixed the library animation issue on my device.

I am not affiliated with or associated with the ARMSX2 developers. All credits go to jpollo (ARMSX2 Dev) and the PS2 emulation team for their work.

Question Looking for the best games to emulate/play on my OnePlus 7T (SD855+, 8GB RAM)

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Hey guys!

I have a OnePlus 7T (Snapdragon 855+, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage) along with an EvoFox Deck 2 mobile controller.

I'm looking for game recommendations that my phone can handle well from:

Nintendo Switch

PS2

PC games (via Winlator)

Here are a few games I've already tested:

Hollow Knight: Silksong (PC via Winlator) – 720p, locked 60 FPS.

Red Dead Redemption (PC version) – around 20 FPS.

GTA V – around 30 FPS, but it crashes after driving for a while.

I'm open to any genre—action, RPG, racing, platformers, indie, or anything else. I'd especially love games that play well with a controller.

What are your favorite games that run smoothly on similar hardware? Feel free to recommend hidden gems too!

Question Getting a S26Ultra for PC emulation without cooler ?

Hey !

As written in the title, I'm debating on getting the S26 Ultra for PC emulation without cooler.

Do you guys have any experience running PC games on the S26 Ultra without cooler ? I've read that the thermal throttling kicks in pretty fast.

I don't intend to play games like Cyberpunk, The Last of Us etc but maybe less demanding games.

Is it worth it to invest in it if I don't want to carry a cooler with it ?

Showcase DooM (2016) Rip and Tear my 8 Elite / Relame GT 7 Pro

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m playing it at a 1340x600 resolution to fit my phone’s full screen, though this results in slightly lower frame rates. The frame rate can exceed 60 fps, but only during calm moments with little action in the area without recording. If you’re aiming for a more consistent 60 fps with medium-high graphics, I recommend using a 1280x720 resolution.

I’ve set my graphics to very low while keeping the lighting quality high, and limited the frame rate to 40 with balanced frame generation (My go to fps to reduce artifacting). This helps prevent the device from getting too hot, especially since the resolution I’m using fills the entire screen.

Discussion Never called myself so many names

Thumbnail

I dont think I've called myself dumb so many times while playing a game. I was trying to beat Zelda Oracle Of Seasons without using any guides and damn that was brutal. I know older games were harder in order to make them last longer for the users but damn that took way longer then I expected. Some newer games hold your hand way to much now IMHO.

This was my first game completed on my rotate since getting it all setup. Hope the rotate 2 doesn't comes out before I can beat Oracle of Ages.
