Hello photographers and editors!
I've recently received a message from the Reddit Admins about video comments. I turned them off since I didn't really think it's applicable to this sub, but the feature doesn't go live until the end of the week so I wanted to get feedback from everyone before being a stereotypical mod and making a unilateral decision and ignoring all other input.
So before you go and throw in a comment, here's the rundown on the feature. Essentially, it lets you post videos in the comments. That's it. Nothing too fancy, nothing extravagant, and nothing that hasn't been available with creating links in the past.
It's something that I haven't had any complaints about, or issues with working around. As a RAW sharing sub, it just doesn't seem that practical to me.
But in all fairness, it could allow for screenshares of workflows. Which hasn't been an issue in any way from my perspective, but again I'd appreciate feedback before making a unilateral decision.
The other use this feature brings up is video editing.
Is there any interest in opening up this sub somewhat by allowing and promoting editing of video footage? With the video comment feature we could have a second weekly challenge for grading video footage, but the history of the sub has been solely focused on RAW edits for stills. It will be a change, if that is wanted.
My main concern with the video edits is that this is already a small and niche subreddit. Expanding it may just cause extra work setting up and running a video competition without any actual participants. While we're small enough we could handle the influx of users, we may be too small to bring in new users to make the video edits work.
So now that you've read through my overly-long rant, what are your thoughts? Do we want to open up video comments, and possibly bring in video editing to the subreddit? Or do we want to keep everything as-is?

The Official Weekly RAW Editing Challenge!
Every week, we post a new RAW file for you to edit - the moderators will provide a link to the file in the comments section. After you have downloaded the file and made all the edits you wish, post a link to your final edit in this thread so other users can upvote their favourite edits. The winner is the user with most upvotes by the end of the week.
The winner can send us one of their photos to be used in next week's competition.
Rules:
This thread will be in contest mode until the end of the week. This means comment scores will be hidden and submissions will not display in any particular order.
Note:
If there is no link to a RAW file in the comments section, the moderators are still waiting for a file from last week's winner and will provide a link to the file as soon as one is available.

Hi! I’m learning Lightroom and looking for wildlife or zoo animal RAW files to practise editing.
Please share only photos you took and are okay with others editing. I’ll use them only for practice and can share the final edit with credit.

A photo of a Ford Aerostar in some dirt with some grass in front. Shot on a Canon t3i, f4.0, shutter speed 30" (There were people moving. I wanted a clean shot. Was also a little dark). ISO 100
Wanting that more old-style look. Like the ads from back then, but open to anything! Workflow appreciated.

Here's some shots from Hong Kong. The first two are identically framed if people want to screen in the city lights. I have struggled to create images from these files that I am happy with. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19zZaPQcRat7Vl7tMLMEDeWWg2oi0jMjP?usp=sharing

I took these earlier in the week while camping in the Alvord Desert. I was really happy with how they turned out and I'd love to see what this group would do with them. I'll share a couple of my edits in the comments.
Edit: Shot with Sony a7RV and Sigma 20mm f1.4 DG DN. I believe these shots were all 10 second exposures at ISO6400. I had an an intervalometer and was basically taking shots non-stop for about 3 hours with a few different framings. My intention is to do some stacking, but haven't had a chance yet.

Here is a few photos from when I was in China in December. I have my own edited versions, but I am interested in learning better ways to balance light and colour in other people's takes.

Hi! I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do- my wedding was October 2025 and every time I look at my photos, I want to cry because I really just am unhappy with them. I loved my engagement photos but the photographer changed her editing style by the time of my wedding. Is there a way to have them re-edited by someone else? Is it too late to reach out to the original photographer and ask to have them re-edited or ask for the RAW files? We just look so washed out in the photos so I think it’s mainly the coloring she did that I am unhappy with. Is there anything I can do?!? Thank you so much

For some godawful reason I love spending time on shots that realistically should not be saved, but for one reason another have enough merit to warrant the process. Give me your extremely underexposed, your wonkily composed, or blurry weird outtakes that have just enough spark to them to make the process worth it.

If you have a motorcycle pic I would prefer if it had person in the photo.
