New Cafe in Dunedin FL

just wanted to introduce myself. JD's Place is a cozy cafe in Dunedin, FL on CR1 just up the road from the new ALDI, in Braemoor Plaza. The atmosphere is a comfy place for everyone (except haters) to relax and eat tasty food and beverages (yes adult beverages, too). You can take a book/ leave a book from our small collection of titles. The music is a mix of 80's & 90's deep cuts. And the decoration is some of my favorite stuff. Mention this Reddit post and get 10% off in July.

Brunch is BOGOhalf on adult beverages Sat and Sun, 11-1.

Jobs for teenagers

Hello - we moved here recently and my 17 year old is used to having a food service/part time job. She thought she could get one but two weeks in she isn’t having any luck yet. Does anyone have any specific recommendations of known places hiring? She will be in college on Mondays and Wednesdays but otherwise has awesome availability and is a great worker. Thanks.

Local Businesses in Dunedin?

hey y'all, I'm a recent college grad who started a marketing/ website business for local businesses here in Dunedin. I've been running it for about 1 year now, and I'm capable of building websites, doing SEO, running targeted ads on Facebook & Google, email marketing, custom software solutions and creating marketing content for Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok. I'm looking to partner with some local businesses that can't afford to hire a big company and are looking for an affordable option to handle everything online for them. If this is you or you know anybody who could benefit, i'd love to connect or get a referral.

night fishing/kayaking launch points

Anyone know of any boat launch or places to legally put a kayak in the water with parking? I saw that anyone can apply for an overnight causeway storage license. I was hoping to do some night fishing and I am kind of at a loss to where to launch at. I have a hobie kayak and a small trailer that I tow it on.

Homemade food donations?

Does any place exist that takes donations of homemade food? I love baking and do it once or twice a week, but it's just me and I don't even eat that many sweets. Even when I make bread, most of what I make goes to waste because I have no one to give it to!!

I'd love to give it away to someone or somewhere that will actually appreciate it.

I'm professionally trained and food safety certified so I follow all the rules.

Dunedin is my Destination for winter!

Hey, I want to spend January/February in lovely Dunedin. Where should I look for a place to nest? Safe, close to beaches, parks, bike paths and fun/funky stuff. Gym with yoga/weights near by would be a big plus. Recently retired, single, active (cute/petite) gal wanting to escape the doldrums of winter. Any help is greatly appreciated!

The Dunedin mail box creeper

It’s disrespectful and illegal too open mailboxes to place offers to buy peoples property. Placing unsolicited items in mailboxes is illegal by federal law and can result in fines up to $250,000 and up to three years in jail for destruction of federal property. It’s another thing to start taking videos and pictures of our home.

Dunedin vs Jax Beaches

I’m considering a move to Florida this year and would love input from people who have lived in or spent significant time in both areas.
How would you compare Jacksonville Beach / Atlantic Beach / Neptune Beach versus Dunedin?

My priorities are:

• Active outdoor lifestyle (running, cycling, walking the dog)
• Access to good run clubs and fitness-oriented communities
• Walkability and bikeability for everyday errands and recreation
• Being able to get to the beach regularly
• Access to trails and green space
• Fishing opportunities (surf fishing, inshore fishing, and easy water access)
• Good local restaurants, especially ethnic food (Asian, Latin American, Middle Eastern, etc.), not just chains and tourist-oriented spots
• Housing options with a garage and small fenced yard

For context, I’m in my late 50s, still very active, and care much more about quality of life, outdoor recreation, and day-to-day livability than nightlife.
For those who know both areas:

What are the biggest pros and cons of each?
If you had to choose between the Jacksonville Beaches and Dunedin, which would you pick and why?
