Stumbled upon this video, all i could think after seeing it was Morpheus's conversation with JC regarding how they feel pleasure being watched as JC mentions people don't realize the dangers of indiscriminate spying, yet Morpheus mentions how it has recorded all their smiles as they get a summary or highlights of who they are.
Man Deus Ex is truly one of a kind media piece, anyone else know what else DX has nailed regarding current state of events such as 24 hours news cycles of hostilities?

I've been replaying Deus Ex recently and realized how many incredible conversations are hidden throughout the game. I started making short videos highlighting some of my favorites, beginning with Walton Simons' interrogation of the NSF prisoner
I thought some of you here might enjoy it. I'd also love recommendations for other dialogues that deserve to be featured because I'm planning to cover as many of them as I can
Hope you enjoy it

There is so much content for DX1 out there, mostly in the form of mods. However, many mods do contradict facts from the original games, or just lack the quality to be considered sufficiently at the level of DX.
To solve this, a Canon Board can help. Once a common timeline is defined and a Canon "somewhat" established, this would be a unified baseline where Mods can opt in (or out), so it makes it easier for mod developers to be part of a unified "world", and thus increase immersion and quality by alot.
Please comment if you have any heads-ups or if you want to contribute :)

That was my first reaction when I saw the sales of the games. The level of polish of every single game in the franchise is nothing like I've ever seen in almost any other franchise, yet it's not popular???
I get that we haven't gotten a new game in quite a while, and discussions about the game eventually shrink in scale. But still, it revolutionized video games. Level design wise, story wise(not every game. IW and MD, but they are still decent), world building, philosophy, OMG THE PHILOSOPHY. From the original game to the prequels this franchise is peak philosophy for me. I told my friends and fanily about the themes of the games and they were blown away. Especielly my parents that didn't believe that video games can have depth haha
But the numbers don't lie:( 12 million sales throughout a franchise might seem like a lot, until you realise that other AAA titles are in the hundereds of millions. And they don't come even close to the level of polish of Deus Ex.
It just seems so wrong that this franchise isn't as popular as it should. It's my second favorite video game franchise of all time, and Deus Ex (2000) is my favorite game of all time. I really thought that this franchise is as popular like Halo or something similar

In lieu of waiting for the questionable remaster, I wanted to boot up Deus Ex again. After some reading GMDX Augmented Addition seems to be the route I want to go, but I was trying to figure out if I should use a specific launcher like Kentie's.
I appreciate any input!

The typhoon would be the strongest weapon per hit in Mankind Divided. It takes out every human enemy with one shot in both Human Revolution and Mankind Divided except the bosses. But if you really think that canonically the bosses would need two or more typhoons to take them down and not think it is for game play purposes then you are a crackhead. I saw some people commenting that they couldn't understand why it was not possible to punch and knock out the Exo-suits without using a emp. It makes a lot of sense why Adam cannot just do that because if these suits can take a direct Typhoon blast then Adam's punch would be useless against them unless using EMP weapon immobilize them first.

Hey fellow gamers, modern gaming is ruled by predatory monetization, while unique franchises are locked away in corporate vaults to rot. I started a movement called "The Forgotten Three" to bring together the most frustrated communities (Titanfall, Half-Life, PvZ, Battlefront, etc.) who are all waiting for that missing third installment. It’s time to tell these corporations to learn how to count to three again. Check it out and sign here: https://www.change.org/The3robbery

Parts of the Soundtrack and ambient background music sound so familiar, I always think the Main Theme of Deus Ex 1 will start immediately.

Asha,
To avoid any issues with client perspectives on backup policies, I think we should consider moving some of the more critical files into special storage. And I changed the code myself to 1293 so I hope you check your messages before you access the locker.

Lot of dark and depressing conspiracies in the games naturally, but is there any that is actually light and maybe wholesome in nature?

so i wanna attempt stealth based run for mankind divided on i never asked for this difficulty, completing all of the side missions without save scumming or getting into fights unless completely necesarry (hele confrontation with picus team and the part in aug getho when you have to rescue the brother and then of course part when you need to take out the shop keeper for otar.) my question is how doable or not so doable do you think this is.

One of the biggest gaming sequel fumbles of all time, Design, story and gameplay wise Invisible War feels like a console spinoff rather than a true sequel. I'm sure they were thinking of tapping in the console sales at that time but by 2003 the PC market was still very healthy for exclusives (COD, Rise of Nations etc)

Playing via Steam with Xbox controller.
For whatever reason the left trigger will always active the Fire button no matter what controller setting in the game I use...this is usually the Iron Sights function. One the setups has this as Seek Cover...which will do that but will also cause the readied weapon to fire.
Tried playing around with the Steam controller setup; but I don't know what I am doing at all.
Any advice on fixing this?

I just finished replaying the game for the first time in probably a decade and had a question regarding Hugh Darrow's motivation in the ending, where he activates the signal and seemingly has a change of heart and wants to destroy his work.
Trying to sway him to your side and make him stop, you are given the option to claim that he is jealous that the technology he created is leaving him behind and he responds saying that his body fully rejects the technology unlike Adam who can embrace it entirely.
So, is his motive for activating the signal and destroying his work really truly noble in that he wants to stop humanity destroying itself and prevent the illuminati from using it in bad ways? Or is it tainted by bitterness and jealousy of not being able to use it?
It wasn't really clear to me and it's the only thing that left me feeling like I didn't truly understand him as a character.

Hello, sorry if this post is breaking sub rules.
I’m looking to buy a booklet that was included with preorders for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The book is called Humanity+: The Roots of Deus Ex Human Revolution. It goes over the history of the cyberpunk genre and discusses the influences on the game. I’m a big fan of DXHR, and I’d love to get my hands on a copy. If you have one you are willing to part with, please let me know, and feel free to name your price. I know there is a pdf scan of the document, but I’m honestly interested in completing my collection for the game.
