The PC port for Detroit: Become Human has released, and with it came a lot of posts asking for help about running the game. A megathread has been requested to keep the sub less cluttered. You can post all your questions and problems about the PC version in this megathread.
Please don't make seperate threads for PC release problems. Seperate threads will be removed.
Make sure to use top level comments for questions and replies for answers.
Sort by new if you wish to help with unanswered questions.
Upvote if you have the same problem as someone instead of making a seperate comment so more common problems will be more visible!
General Tips (Will add more if suggested):
-Play on Windows 10
-Make sure to update your graphics card
-AMD has released fixed drivers that fixes the blockiness that occurs in the game on some 5000 GPU series. Updating the drivers to version 20.9.2 fixes the issue
-Nvidia 451.48 drivers seem to cause constant crashes, revert back to an earlier driver if you are experiencing this.

Detroit Become human swapping windows audio output by itself. My friend tried to stream the game to me on discord and the output device just switches to nothing, it's like there's just a blank device there or nothing at all (as seen in the attached video), it seems to just pop up, and then disappear again.
We've tried a lot of things:
Disabling every other output and setting the headset as the windows default;
Swapping to USB 2.0;
Disabling USB power saving;
Turning off audio exclusivity;
And a bunch of other stuff that my friend looked up, or any AI suggestions for the fix. None of it helped.
If anyone knows of a possible fix for this or has encountered the issue previously or knows someone that has then, please, please help us with this.
Thank you very much.

Thats so random but I've been boiling for some time and its time to share.
Im genuinely sorry and I apologise to any Josh lovers but I genuinely cannot stand him. Mostly because he is all talk but no action, he is always super mad (especially at violent markus) but never does anything. Yes he ofcourse has a good point, its not good to answer violence with violence and I stand by his belives, but he it feels like he is always like "Markus are you insane thats so wrong and bad" but when there's action he is scared and would rather hide and suffer (like in the spare parts talk or the talk in the main cabin of the ship right before jericho raid)
Like man if you want to do the right thing so bad just stand up and do it
Im open for any discussion, i didnt want to brag too much so I kept it little shorter

This is the art of the scene where Simon kills himself while Connor is still connected to him. This is the scene that ends with "Connor was traumatized" note. It's not really detailed, it is square-shaped and doesn't show Simon's face, just a lot of blue blood and shocked Connor's face. I saw it on Tumblr and saved but apparently I accidentally deleted it 😭

Hi, I just domed a guard. Yeah, so much for being peaceful. Guys, after turning Conner deviant at the room in Jericho, he just turns into a shell, he’s even more robotic. Please, is there a route where everyone important is alive, Conner doesn’t kill 2 innocent guards, and doesn’t make him an evil machine? I want his personality back please. This route sucks
I’m willing to replay previous chapters to restart

I'm on my quest to 100% Detroit Become Human (help me) and am having some trouble with this specific node, how exactly do I get my relationship with Hank bad enough for him to die but also have Connor be able to deviate?
r/DetroitBecomeHuman • u/dxxrya • 1d ago
Kara and Alice died at the Canadian checkpoint while they were trying to get their temperature tested.
Connor killed Markus while he were running.
He also killed North when she was hiding.
Hank killed himself as well🙏😭
AND CONNOR ALSO GOT REPLACED 😭😭😭

SPOLIERS
I got my ending of Markus did a peaceful protest and kissed north. Kara, Alice and Luther got into the Canadian border because of the peaceful protest. Connor went deviant and helped Markus and got out of the warehouse alive. Hank and Connor are best buddies.
HOWEVER - when doing the mission where you broadcast, Simon got shot and we left him alive on the roof and jumped without him. When I played as Connor I died protecting Hank due to chasing the deviant and replayed. I went to the roof and found Simon and stayed under cover and he got shot down.
Is there a way of keeping Simon alive?

What are people opinions on these 4 mainly the other three Simon, Josh and North Simon is (at least shipped) gay for Marcus(I found that out like five minutes ago ) but he straight for north(you can kiss her as an option at the end of the game). I never hear anybody talk about Josh. I just feel like he’s there. Kinda like a third wheel.

I have been playing for a while on my steam deck and didn't happen until Markus confronts Leo. I thought it was because some lighting issues, but next scene in the interrogation room is still there persistently. It seems everyone is crying blue blood lol
Does anyone know how to fix it?

Since my first playthrough was so compelling, I thought I'd chime in on the great experience of DBH. Compared to my subsequent playthroughs for the Platinum Trophy, my first still feels like the strongest (especially since I had no expectations or knowledge of what would come). Here is a summary of each storyline:
Kara
Thematically, this was my favorite storyline in the game. In contrast to Markus & Connor reshaping society, it was nice to just see one of the many stories of androids trying to adjust & survive within the turmoil of these changes. How the bond between Kara & Alice was tested really moved me. Admittedly, I found myself prioritizing her safety & happiness because I perceived her as being human. That's why the revelation of her being an android hit the themes of this game home harder for me.
To start, I moved only after Todd pulled off his belt. I didn't yet understand what red ice was, so I was hoping he was just getting high and would fizz out after ranting a bit. I ended up struggling to save Alice and we never saw Todd again.
As for major choices, I always prioritized doing the right thing to set a good example for Alice. When she insisted on not stealing the laundry, I knew I didn't want to betray those feelings. I ended up staying in Ralph's house, which ended up being my favorite shelter. It was uncomfortable and very awkward, but made for better bonding moments between Kara & Alice. For the most part, I was constantly rewarded for this mindset. At least, until the bus stop. I crossed the river, but it came at the cost of Luther's life. It was a good lesson that always doing the right thing should never come with the expectation of a reward.
Most nerve-racking moment for me was escaping Zlatko's house. Kara's memory was reset and the 10 minute countdown had me panicking. Hiding from Zlatko was very anxiety inducing, especially getting caught at the very end.
The most heartwarming moment was definitely the merry-go-round at the Pirates' Cove. Alice's smile was the most rewarding part of struggling to survive.
Connor
I spent most of this storyline pissing Hank off. I thought he was going to be the archetype of a dysfunctional yet hardboiled detective who only cares about solving the case and likes when his determined, go-getter partner does whatever it takes to finish the mission. Biggest slap in the face for me was when I left Hank on the rooftop because he had an 89% chance of survival. It took until The Bridge to realize how sensitive he was. The lesson I learned with his character was to give him space and let him come around (instead of lecturing him about the calories in his meal).
Connor ended up dying four times (saving Emma, chasing Kara on the highway, getting shot by Hank, saving Hank from the deviant in Stratford Tower). The turning point for me was deciding not to shoot Chloe. That's where I started to see blue arrows on Hank's relationship for the first time in earnest. For personal interpretation, I also saw Connor's deaths & fragmented memories as a ripe chance to steer him towards becoming a deviant. From there, I saved Hank at Cyberlife and got to see them hug it out post credits.
Coming back for the full machine route was actually really fun though. Connor was insanely brutal, especially with the Tracis in the interrogation room. Most satisfying moment was laying waste to soldiers (Jericho, the vantage point). Markus vs Connor at the climax of the revolution was one of my favorite moments for that story path.
Markus
With Markus, I started by being philosophical. Read Plato at Carl's house and my painting was about feeling like a prisoner. I pushed back against Leo and thought I killed him. Seeing Carl's reaction was heartbreaking and I decided I didn't want to hurt anyone again as Markus. So I went the pacifist route...all the way. I'll admit, there were many times I thought I was going to get a bad ending for following this path. There were several instances where I was tempted to fight back. At a certain point, I didn't believe humans would ever be reasoned with and nothing would get through to them. But I held onto the faint hope that standing by the ideals of peaceful freedom would shine through.
I managed to keep everyone alive and we all sang it out in the end. It was interesting because I took a brief break after the raid on Jericho. And when I came back to finish the game, the main menu Chloe was singing "Hold On." I think that might have been what planted the idea to take a gamble with that choice.
Final Thoughts
My personal favorite ending is the peaceful demonstration with Alice, Kara & Luther making it through the checkpoint because of good public opinion. On my second playthrough, I actually tried this but with Markus's violent revolution. The moment I saw the security guy look up at the TV, my stomach sank and I knew what was coming. It was a reminder that sometimes, individuals will be unfairly punished for the actions of others.
The final trophy I went for was Kara & Alice surviving the death camp. I'd never been caught up to that point, so mentions of the "recall centers" never really stirred much up in me. It was one thing for Markus & North to talk about android genocide, but seeing it first hand was a literal game changer. It honestly made me want to go back and choose violent revolution (still glad I stayed peaceful though). It really hammered home the absolutely dehumanizing terror of it all.
I really enjoy these stories that blur the lines between AI & humans, often putting that question of the soul at the forefront. While I obviously don't think the androids are literally human, being made in our likeness and "endowed with free will" (favorite Kamski line) made me a firm believer that anything made in our image with the capacity to reason & feel deserves the same rights & dignities.
After living & breathing this game for a week, it's going to be surreal to put it away. Thankfully, I still haven't finished the flowcharts, so there's plenty more to look forward to the next time I return.

Is it possible to do whilst keeping hank alive?? I was curious to see if you could get the relationship to teeter just on the edge of hostile and tense for the bridge, and then by sparing Chloe you could get it to be tense before Hank gets dropped from the police force. I really want to keep hank alive at all costs 🥲
edit: I DID IT!!!

Anybody the opinion on the north because I cannot stand her Like Simon and Josh are fine, but north is annoying. Maybe it’s the if you fight violence with violence and destroy the city. I’ll tell you my deepest secret.

I just need to get this off my chest i feel like i fucked up. This is just a game but i genuinely feel so weird.
I got a ending where kara and alice escaped but then kara shut down at the end so alice is alone. Luther died on the boat. And connor would be the next leader but amanda interecepted and i chose suicide.
I wanted the androids to win peacefully so badly and i feel like they won but at what cost. I also sacrificed marcus for the greater good and north just fucked everything up.
Still an amazing game.
Edit: i just played again from the point when markus died and now i chose to stay and then runaway so he survives. I now managed to save kara luther alice connor markus north and josh peacefully. Now im very satisfied i had tears in my eyes once markus and the rest started singing at the end and the humans stopped attacking.
And ive gotten a post credit scene when hank and connor hug each other. LETSGO

SPOILERS
Just finished my first play through, binged it all over a weekend.
Holy shit, what an experience - confidently the best story game I’ve ever played. Was emotionally invested all in stories - especially Kara’s with her story ending making me tear up :(
I had Markus revolt violently, winning the final battle keeping North alive (Josh and Simon died in the fight)
Connor became a deviant (choosing all deviant-like choices on the way, sparing lives, etc.) went to Cyberlife headquarters and activated all the androids (keeping Hank alive)
However the Kara story line is where I feel like I failed. I did not save Luther and Jerry from the soldiers (thinking this would get me killed) and then returned the bus ticket (wanted to be a good example for Alice) so had to get the boat. Stupidly pressed accelerate when getting shot at leaving Alice to die and only Kara to make it (did not give up as Alice would have wanted Kara to keep going)
If I had kept Alice alive I would have been happy and personally considered this the perfect choice set, very frustrating.
Do people agree this is would best set of endings for each character or not? Would love to hear other opinions on what their ‘ideal’ endings would be?

I know it is all in portuguese. But today, I finally got the rarest achievement, which I like to call "the many deaths of Connor". It was glorious. It is the second game I do it in my life, after Cyberpunk 2077. The most boring one for sure was bookworm. Everything related to collectibles in any game is such I grind, but at least in Detroit it was just one.
Anyways. It was a honor.

The day after the game ends if Connor is a deviant and still alive he would see all of the blue blood in the street after it evaporates. I think it’s like 4 hours or something that it becomes invisible to the naked eye, but Connor would still see every puddle of blood from androids executed in the streets that like the ones we see during Kara’s section. It’s kinda sad to think about, constantly having reminders of when your people were executed in cold blood all around you, who knows how long he’d be able to see it, forever? Like Connor can still see the blood from Carlos Ortiz’s android even after >19 days have passed

I GOT DETROIT MASTER TROPHY!!!!! This was a lottttt of effort but it was so fun, what a game! I recently finished my first playthrough and thought I won't bother with it again because it's a long ass game but when I gave it a try again I couldn't stop 😩
I had a really random amount of trophies left, I listed them in my notebook to do organized playthroughs and from what I did, it took two full playthroughs and three chapter replays for magazines or small trophy.
Some stuff I wasn't sure would work, if someone ever wonders at 12am with a ton of notes and trophies left like I did if it can be done:
1- Survivors + Revolution: I took the revolution route as Markus which I saw online means a guaranteed Josh death but wanted to get the Survivors trophy, can do it by waiting behind the barricade for about ten minutes so that the revolution fails and North and Markus run to the Cybrelife store and used the dirty bomb, it worked.
2- Survivors + using dirty bomb: I thought Hank would die or the bomb would invalidate the trophy but nope.
3- Failed Revolution + Undefeated: I thought failing it would invalidate the trophy but I was shocked when it didn't.
4- I'll Be Back + A Glimpse of Jericho: Can NOT be done together, I know this one sounds obvious, but I didn't have a solid memory of the game and what can or can't be done so keep that in mind, I had to only replay the last part of Stratford Tower then Public Enemy after doing a whole playthrough with horrible Connor path 😔
5- I'll Be Back + Mission Complete: Connor has to die in Jericho after he chooses not to be deviant and then comes back and kills the leader which in my playthrough was North for convenience.
6- Liberation + Escape Death: Thought Markus saving Kara and Alice would invalidate the trophy since they technically didn't escape but it worked :)
It was so cool to see pretty much brand new content and the post credits Connor scene was so heartbreaking on my horrible Connor path playthrough.
I don't think I want to ever see Hank's suicide scene again, I've never cried while playing this game since I knew its content for the most part but this was brutal to watch.
Also, it's not fun getting cussed out by Mr. Krabs 💔
Anyway, what a game! 10/10, I'm considering getting 100% on all flowcharts but my PS Plus is almost over so it's goodbye for now 😔 this game and Until Dawn are my all time favs and it was so so cool to get platinum in both of them, now I can die in peace.
(Thought I might as well add some photos of my notes, they look even worse now with so much more writing in them as I reconsidered my paths and planned in more detail what to do, might not look optimal but it was helpful)
