A New Style of Post?!

So, over the last two or three days we’ve seen a new style of post crop up. This one today was a real popular one. This one from the day prior was a little bit less popular and all, but got a bunch of action and inspired the one from today. My thanks to both users.

These two posts have gotten more action than all the posts from the last week or two combined. It definitely requires someone to have a skillset as well as some time to donate, which has to be like a dozen of you! I don’t know how common this style will become, but I like it and wanted to actively encourage more of it.

Edit: and thanks to our star, u/JulianDusan, for doing it again! Perfect time for someone else to throw their hat in the ring!

Destroy my Steam page. 140 wishlists in 2 weeks.

My Steam page has been up for two weeks and it's sitting at ~140 wishlists.

It's an incremental/automation game, and those usually do pretty well on Steam, so I don't think the genre alone explains it.

I even pitched the trailer to IGN and it wasn't picked up, not even for Game Trailers.

So... what's wrong?

Is the Steam page failing to sell the game, or does the concept just not hook people?

Looking for brutally honest feedback on my overhauled Steam page

I'm looking for honest, constructive criticism on my Steam page. Don't hold back, I'd rather hear what's not working now than after launch.

What would stop you from wishlisting the game?

I posted my page two months ago and have gotten decent results, but please let me know if you think I can do better! Open for all and any critique, good or bad.

Before you ask, everything about this game and steam page is hand-authored, there's no AI involved in the capsule art, music, translations, anything. Paid professionals have done all the work I could not do myself.

Please destroy πŸ™

Strategically-deep deckbuilder where you make the cards: does the trailer/page convey it? (if not, please destroy it!)

Hello! I've been working ~6 years on this game, launching it soon. I'd like to understand if the Steam page (and especially its trailer) communicates clearly and quickly what the game is about.

Spoiler: It's a card game like YuGiOh, Magic The gathering, Legends Of Ruenterra BUT you can create new cards, and use them to build crazy combos around the main characters (Gods and Legends)

Our first ever Steam Page, please destroy it

Here our Steam Page: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4934300/Cheese_Please/

We're looking for brutally honest feedback. Don't worry about hurting our feeling, we'd rather improve than hear polite compliments.

- Did the trailer hook you and keep you watching until the end? If not, where did it lose you?
- Would the capsule art make you want to click?
- Do the screenshots clearly communicate what the game is and why it's fun?
- Is the short description compelling enough to make you want to learn more?
- Is there anything else you think we should improve?

Thank you so much for your time!

My profile looks sadder right now than teammates going 0-10 in a match. 😒

Guys, if you have any spare Steam points lying around, throw some the author's way for a cool frame or an animated background. I guarantee a karma boost and +100 luck in your next game! πŸ’–

I own 300+ games and spent last night watching YouTube videos about games instead of playing any of them. So I started building something.

Three years ago I quit my job to go after something I actually cared about. It didn't work. Then I started a gaming essay YouTube channel. Poured months into it. That didn't work either.

I'm telling you this because I want to be upfront that I'm not someone with a track record. I'm someone who keeps trying things and will not stop until I succeed.

Recently here is something that finally stuck with me. I have over 300 games in my Steam library. Most nights I sit down with two free hours, open Steam, scroll, close it, open YouTube, watch someone else play something for 40 minutes, and go to bed having played nothing. I've done this hundreds of times. The library that was supposed to be the reward became the obstacle.

I kept thinking about Letterboxd β€” how it turned watching films into something you *keep*. A record. A shelf. Your taste, visible to you. Nothing like that exists for games on mobile. Backloggd is close but it's a website, and the mobile experience isn't there.

So I've been building it. Nights and weekends, around a full-time job, on my own.

Where it's at right now:

* Steam integration β€” connect your account, your whole library imports with playtime. No manual entry. * Game data pulls live so covers, genres, and metadata are real, not placeholder. * An adaptive layer that learns what you actually finish versus what you bounce off, and uses that to narrow the choice down instead of showing you everything. * A game recommendation system that helps in discovering games that align with your taste.

The whole point is one thing: kill the decision fatigue. Less scrolling. More playing.

I'm not asking anyone to sign up for anything. I mostly want to know if this problem is as universal as I think it is, or if I'm building a solution to my own broken brain.

**So genuinely β€” how do you decide what to play next? Do you have a system, or do you also just scroll until the evening's gone?**

I just updated Steam Page for my incremental game and want to hear your feedback

Hi everyone!

I’m a solo developer of incremental games, and a few months ago I decided to try out myself in making a game that wasn’t almost entirely text-based.

I published the Steam page several months ago, but shortly afterward I had to shift my focus back to another game of mine that is currently in Early Access. As a result, this page was left mostly untouched, quietly collecting the occasional wishlist.

Unfortunately, the quality of the page was a "meh", so it didn’t attract much interest.

About two weeks ago, I resumed active development on the game. Today, I finally replaced the trailer, screenshots, and game description:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4344620/Void_Eaters/

I’d really appreciate your honest feedback.

Is it clear what the game is about?

Does the core idea seem interesting?

Do the trailer, screenshots, and description make you want to learn more, or do they make you want to close the page immediately? If so, what specifically puts you off?

Any feedback and honest criticism would be greatly appreciated!

After 8 years as a solo developer, my Steam page is finally live. Please tear it apart before launch.

Hi everyone!

I'm a solo developer from Spain, and after more than 8 years of work, my first commercial game is finally releasing in a couple of weeks.

I've spent thousands of hours making the game, but now I'm worried about something completely different: my Steam page.

I'd really appreciate brutally honest feedback.

  • Does the capsule make you want to click?
  • Is the trailer engaging enough?
  • Do the screenshots explain the gameplay?
  • After reading the page, do you actually understand what the game is?
  • If not, what would you change first?

I'm not looking for compliments. If something is confusing, boring or weak, I'd much rather hear it now than after launch.

Trailer:

If you end up liking what you see, a wishlist would honestly mean the world to meβ€”but the feedback is what I'm here for.

Thank you so much for your time!

Unsubscribe β€” a free browser game that turns canceling a subscription into a boss fight

Thumbnail
keyboardsmasherinteractiv.itch.io

Hey everyone! πŸ‘‹

I built a satirical browser game called \*\*Unsubscribe\*\* β€” inspired by every frustrating subscription cancellation experience you've ever had.

The premise: You're trying to cancel your subscription from Corporation. The system will throw every dirty trick in the book at you to make you give up.

What you'll face across 13 mandatory "security steps":

πŸ”² Pop-Up Minefield β€” Find the REAL close button among 15 fake windows

🧩 Chess Captcha β€” Solve a checkmate-in-one puzzle to prove you're human

🎰 Gambler's Approval β€” Your cancellation depends on a Plinko ball landing on "CANCEL"

πŸ”‘ Password Hell β€” Create a password that satisfies increasingly absurd rules

πŸƒ Shell Game β€” Track a ball under cups (the system cheats and lies)

πŸ“ Terms of Service β€” You must actually READ a contract to find a hidden security keyword

πŸ’€ Mimic Chests β€” Some missions are traps disguised as real tasks. Watch for the blood stains.

⏱️ Memory Integrity Test β€” At the end, the system quizzes you on details from PREVIOUS levels

And several other minigames.

The game has a persistent death counter, a fake leaderboard that roasts you, taunting system messages when you die too many times, and a pity system that skips levels if you fail enough (while insulting you about it).

Available in 4 languages: English, Turkish, Japanese, Chinese

I'd love your feedback! Which level was the most infuriating?

We recently got our Steam page up for the game we've been working on for the past year. We are a very small team of 5 and will be releasing a playable demo at the end of this month. Our game is called Ember's Oath. Any and all feedback is appreciated :)
