TIPS FOR ICE - See something, Say something

WHAT TO DO AT AN ICE CHECKPOINT, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE and/or FEEL THE NEED TO JAM UP THE WORKS. Here's the deal:

🔘 Border Patrol can verify citizenship within 100 miles of a border or "external boundary." This includes coastlines, so NYC, Philadelphia, and all of NJ are within the 100-mile zone.

🔘 Border patrol can only ask brief questions about citizenship, and they cannot hold you for an extended time without cause.

🔘 You always have the right to remain silent. You do not need to answer their questions.

🔘 WITH THAT SAID, IF YOU ARE A BORN CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE WHITE, YOU NEED TO SPEAK UP.

🔘 The most important acts of resistance are the small ones. Make it difficult and uncomfortable for ICE agents to do their jobs. They are counting on citizens to turn a blind eye and allow them to deport undocumented citizens without challenge. Disabuse of that notion.

🔘 If you are on a train, bus, or anything else and ICE or CBP boards, you need to stand up and loudly let everyone know that they have the right to remain silent or only answer questions in the presence of an attorney, no matter their citizenship or immigration status. There have been numerous reports that confronting the agents in this way has caused them to leave without verifying citizenship. THIS CAN SAVE LIVES. 🙌

🔘 If you see anyone being held up by immigration, loudly ask if they are being detained and if they are free to go.

🔘 Immigration officers cannot detain anyone without reasonable suspicion, an agent must have specific facts about you that make it reasonable to believe you are committing or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law. If an agent detains you, you can ask for their basis for reasonable suspicion, and they should tell you.

🔘 Always say no to a search and let everyone know that they can and should refuse consent to a search.

🔘 They cannot search or arrest anyone without facts about that make it probable that they are committing, or committed, a violation of immigration law or federal law.

🔘 Silence alone meets neither of these standards. Nor does race or ethnicity alone suffice for either probable cause or reasonable suspicion

🔘 white citizens, you have a level of privilege which protects you from retaliation from ICE for being "rude" and making a scene, which makes it your DUTY to speak up and make sure people without the same privilege know their rights. GET LOUD. YELL. YELL IN SPANISH IF YOU KNOW IT. LET PEOPLE KNOW THEY DON'T HAVE TO SAY ANYTHING. MAKE ICE UNCOMFORTABLE. THROW SAND IN THE GEARS OF WHITE SUPREMACY.

⭐️ Bonus info ⭐️ 🔘It is perfectly legal to record immigration agents as long as you are not on government property or at a port of entry. If your train/bus gets boarded, pull your phone out and start videotaping immediately.

🔘 If you are detained or see someone getting detained, get the agent's name, number, and any other identifying information. Get it on video if possible.

🔘 Contact the ACLU or your local Immigrant/Migrant support orgs (Rapid Response Network if you're in CO - 1-844-864-8341) if you see someone's rights being violated. (this has been copy and pasted)

Coming back for a week, what’s new(ish)?

Hey, I lived there from 04’ till 14’. Graduated from seabreeze and did the all the usual things we did around that time. I am taking my family to visit my parents at the end of next month and am curious what’s cookin these days. I plan on utilizing my mom to watch the baby, so I can take my wife out. We haven’t had a proper date since the baby was born. The last time we were there, I took her on my drive to school every morning (the loop), the ocean walk/board walk, by the River, mini golf, a couple of places I had worked at - only one still existed (Atlantic sounds). I tried to take her to Cafe du Japan but they had weird hours and it didn’t line up. Anyway… what’s new? What’s a nice date I can take her out on? We are down for most things, but she doesn’t eat seafood. Thanks y’all.

Looking to Rehome a Cat

Hello everyone has the title suggests I'm looking to rehome a 7 yr old fixed cat. I unfortunately had to take her in and in different circumstances I would keep her but I'm not able too.

She is very docile, easy going and incredibly sweet. She has lived with another cat before this and is not aggressive towards mine so she would be good in a home, at least with other cats. Her former owner said she was up to date on her shots but I don't have any physical proof. If you are interested please contact me, as I'd like to find her a home where she is happy, safe and loved. Located in Daytona Beach.

Thrift stores to sell clothes to

Anyone know any good places to sell clothes i don't want to? I'm trying to thin out my wardrobe some anything I don't sell will just go to charity but if I could make back a couple bucks that'd be cool. I tried Plato's Closet on International but I feel like they lowball super hard. Any other places I should try?

Thrift Stores?

Hello, i am visiting Daytona beach for a week pretty soon, and i wanted to know if anybody had any good thrift store reccomendations. I am looking for mixture of punk, rave (specifically tripp nyc or jncos, really just the biggest leg opening possible), y2k (yes ik im sorry), and surfwear. Also, im super into old tech from any era. i mean everything; laptops, desktop pcs', any and all consoles, CRTs, flip and touch screen phones, cd players, everything. Could anybody reccomend places in Daytona Beach to find this type of stuff? I understand that i wont be able to find the tech n clothes in the same place btw.

Beach st

It was so silly to remove a lane in each direction. I get that it added some parking and gave the merchants space to do things on the sidewalk but the parking only fills up Friday through Sunday. And just as easily there were plenty of spaces for people to park on the side streets or maybe in separate lots nearby.

Now you go down Beach street and you have multiple cars backing out and they don't respect that you have the right of way-- they just back out and assume you will stop. Then you have the people in front of you going 3 mph because they are trying to get a space. When they finally see a 85 year old person backing out they will stop so they can take their spot. Ten minutes later when the elderly person finally pulls out and the car ahead pulls in, you travel about 20 feet before it happens all over again.

It was so much better for traffic with the extra lane in each direction. And safer too! We need more lanes and roads due to the increasing population and visitors, not less.

How is the dating scene in 2026? Good for someone in their 30s? Secretly hoping it's improving and can actually meet someone classy. M30s and no criminal record here(can't believe I have to write it for this place)

Rideshare options w/ kids

Hello,

Here on vacation celebrating my 5 year old’s b day and starting kindergarten. I’d like to take him from right at the ormund beach/daytona line to the bandshell tonight. Uber and Lyft don’t seem to offer child seats in Daytona, does anyone have a recommendation for safe travels back and forth?

I messaged one of the pedi cabs on fb already but haven’t heard back. Hoping to make this last night memorable for him with some live music and fireworks.

Thanks!

Jackie Robinson Stadium Seating - Tortugas

Hi!

We’re going to go enjoy a game here when in town. We went last year and was a blast. However, we sat in the seats in B/C for an evening game and the sun was brutal.

We were going to go to a day game, 1pm, and wanted to see if anyone had recommendations to sit. Whether grandstands or in A/B/C.

While enjoy the sun, with younger kids I think it’s best to try and avoid.

Thanks!
