Shout out to Patrick Stump for making absolute bangers on the Spidey soundtrack

To think that I grew up listening to this guy and now my daughter and I get to enjoy the Spidey and his Amazing Friends soundtrack together. It’s funny that whenever my wife plays his cover of We Didn’t Start The Fire, I refer to him as the guy who sings the Spidey songs for my daughter 😂

Anyways everyone post their favorite Spidey and his Amazing Friends songs in the comments.

Little Bear Theories/Future Theories

As a mom of a toddler who's thoroughly enjoying this show all over again, I've found myself coming up with theories too. I like to play with the idea that Granny enchanted the forest to some degree. The episode where Little Bear's entire family and many of his friends build her house before she'd even "met" them really solidified this idea for me. (Not to mention the residents' seemingly pagan-inspired traditions.)

Perhaps this is the easiest explanation to the show’s animal/human mixings, but I enjoy this interpretation.

The episode about Emily's birthday sent me deep into thought about a hypothetical future where Emily eventually reaches the age when she leaves the forest to pursue marriage and motherhood.

She falls in love, gets married, has children, and as the years pass, she writes to Granny less and less until she gradually forgets the forest altogether.

Then, during an outdoor trip with her own family, she's suddenly flooded with memories and insists that her husband take them to Granny's house so her children can experience a childhood as magical as hers.

When they arrive, however, Granny has sadly passed away, and the beloved home they once shared has fallen into disrepair. Emily walks the old paths searching for her childhood friends, only to find that the forest no longer felt enchanted. Whether the magic had faded with Granny or whether adulthood had closed her eyes to it, Emily couldn't say.

At last she finds her oldest friend, now a fully grown bear. She doesn't dare approach him. The realization that Little Bear no longer recognizes her, or that she can never truly reconnect with him as she once did, fills her with grief.

Anywho, I've been dying to get that out there, so I'm glad I found this Reddit. Anyone else have some cool ideas?

Ms Rachel Reuploaders

I just had ms rachel on for my daughter while I ate my lunch and at the end of the video it cut to an old ai man talking about love saying it can feel weird and uncomfortable and you have to embrace it. Has anyone else seen this shit!? It’s so weird I thought I put on a normal Ms Rachel video but it was some reuploader. Please make sure you guys double check!!

EDIT: STOP COMMENTING ABOUT HOW YOURE SUCH A GOOD PARENT BECAUSE YOU NEVER USE YOUTUBE. I have been on the internet since I was 3 years old completely unsupervised. I know how it works, I know the weird shit that can happen, I know how to navigate. IM NOT TRYING TO LET MY CHILD GET GROOMED???!! Some of yall are really fucking weird. Youtube is only on IN MY ROOM, ON MY TV, WITH ME SITTING THERE. I turned the video off IMMEDIATELY. I have chronic illness and am currently in a flare up so we have been watching more Ms Rachel and Sesame Street recently, the post had the same thumbnail, my glasses are broke so I COULD NOT READ THE CHANNEL NAME. This post was not asking for advice really at all because I reported it and have taken steps to prevent this ever happening, and I definitely wasnt asking for weird assumptions about my parenting skills. I am trying to let OTHER PARENTS KNOW THIS IS SOMETHING THATS HAPPENING SO WATCH OUT FOR IT. I WAS SITTING RIGHT THERE. Anyone else whos gonna say something about how i shouldve been watching or im going to get my child groomed youre fucking weird and dont comment on my post.

Thoughts When Trapped in My House By HFM

  1. Thank you Disney for releasing those 5 new episodes of Spidey the day my kid got sick. We now have them memorized.

  2. Bootsie is sentient and knows exactly what she's doing.

  3. Doc Ock gives a slight nod to the 4th wall in Aunt May's Flying House

  4. Bluey - Poor Lucky's Dad. He must think he lives next door to psychos and tolerates then because they might maul him in his sleep. Chili and Bingo chomp his legs in Asparagus, Shawn the hand attacks him in the street, and then Bandit steals his football. Probably more, but those are what I witnessed today.

  5. Bonus: we did an oatmeal bath, and my 4 yo asked if it could be eaten. I said, "Hmm, let's not." The response was, "Can I peepee in it?"

I'm ready for adult interactions 😭.

WeatherHunters Lore

This probably isn't a conspiracy but my eldest's rewatching of WeatherHunters on the PBS Kids app has got me looking for anything fresh in the episodes. I'm a history nerd and noticed the Tuskegee Airmen weather vane. This got me to notice other Easter eggs like medals and photos on walls. I finally did a deep dive and think I found who Great-Grandpa Wallace is. Can anyone confirm this more?

What is the most impressive show in the Elmo the Musical canon?

Everyone whose dealt with the Elmo phase knows about his stint as the Lin Manuel Miranda of Sesame Street, composing and starring in his own musicals. As a once and forever theater kid, I started to wonder on view #108348927 which one gave Elmo his Tony.

Was it Athlete the Musical, where Abby’s stepdad inexplicably showed up in a tracksuit to crush Elmo at various athletic events? Was it my toddlers favorite, Pizza the Musical, where Elmo fails utterly at his simple job of delivering a pizza to Mars but the Martians are ok with because the box is actually their cultic ritual object? Or maybe the one with the magician who keeps accidentally cutting things in half because his song is kind of a banger?

Most importantly, which Broadway legends have played camp icon Baddie McBad?

What song did they rip off?

“It’s Potty Time” on Ms. Rachel is a certified banger. it reminds me of a very specific 80’s song that I just can’t place. Does anyone know what song they ripped off?

My conspiracy theory is that they trapped Steve Winwood’s soul in Bean Bear.

The Man With The Yellow Hat From The 2006 Curious George Cartoon Is An Aromantic Icon

Post image
300 Upvotes

Note: This is SPECIFICALLY about The Man from the PBS cartoon, not the books or the movie series. Those are separate canons.

Anyways, one of my favorite things about The Man from the 2006 series is how the writers didn’t force him into any romances and he seems to have absolutely no interest in romance either. There are multiple single women the show could have tried and forced him into a relationship with - Professor Wiseman and Aunt Margaret come to mind. Hell, even The Doorman could be a viable option for him, although Hundley would never be the same if he had to cohabitate with George. But The Man doesn’t flirt with any of them, even Professor Wiseman who is seemingly his best friend. Hell, they celebrate birthdays privately together and she lends him and George her beach house but there are still zero romantic undertones! I feel like that’s pretty rare to see in a cartoon - a parent so dedicated to his child (monkey) that he focuses entirely on them and remains a single parent.

But the real kicker that makes me think he’s straight up aromantic is the reaction he has to finding out he has a wife in a dream sequence in A Very Monkey Christmas. Finding out you’re married and going “oh no” is not a very alloromantic reaction lmao. I can’t post the video here for some reason so I’ll upload it to YouTube and link it in the comments 😭

I’d like to claim he’s also asexual but the show doesn’t give us enough info. Maybe he fucks. We can’t be certain.

Remember this weird series of books called "Ordinary People Change the World"

Post image

Note to any moderators here this isn't fan content.

I know of this series of weird ass books called "Ordinary People Change The World" and there's something strange about these books. Literally all the historical figures are shown as kids execpt Anne Frank who was a kid when she died and also many of these books literally show a statue of the historical figure portrayed as an adult and the statues are often highly realistic looking. How is this possible if the historical figures are all just children with beards and all that adult shit?
