Christopher Nolan avoided CGI and used 7ft stuntmen to portray Laestrygonians in The Odyssey. The giant leader, King Antiphates, is portrayed by actor Josh Stewart, while Matt Damon’s stunt double is Devyn Dalton, who is just under 5ft.

My favorite thing about that is that Matt and Trey didn't do that as any kind of critique of Matt Damon. They said his puppet just came out looking really weird and goofy for some reason and they couldn't stop making jokes about it.
