Thoughts? Trying to go for a soft glam look.

Hi everyone, I am getting married in about a week and am wanting some wedding makeup advice as I'll be doing my own.

here are two versions different versions of trails i did for myself. Let me know if there's one you prefer. Note the second photos are a bit further away as I was wearing a shirtless top and didn't want to look naked lol. I'm trying to go for a soft glam, while also being dolled up for wedding.

I am open to all feedback, especially if you have any tips for applying lash clusters. I just want to make sure I look nice. I will be getting my eyebrows laminated and lashes lifted before the wedding. In the first photos I had them done, the second photos are more recent so it's just my natural brows and eyelashes.

my skin is normal, a bit dry. I do sometimes get acne. I am using the charlotte tilburry setting spray and it's really making the makeup stick!

Because of a weird miscommunication with MIL, they have already been made. We really don't like them, but what can we do? I'm not good at crafts but willing to spend time on it. We don't want to just trash them. We have 40 guests.

Hi DIY-ers! I got married last month and I'm still basking in the glow of it all!! In doing some reflection, I wanted to share my proudest and favorite DIY- my invitation suite. Going into the process, I was ready to spend a pretty penny on my invitations- but I didn't feel like I could find a designer who could really capture my vision. That was partially my fault because I definitely didn't realize the timeline for stationery design (4+ months for a suite this large) but it was a happy accident because I had so much fun designing this. At this point in my post-wedding come-down I'm mostly sad I'll never get to do this again haha

Happy to answer any questions here- but I'll leave with this: these stationery designers are not scamming you with their prices. Printing costs + design time (80+ hours) are not cheap and these artists have to eat! Obviously, there are some in demand designers who can charge more based on their talent/rep- but smaller designers really are charging fair prices IMO. That said, Minted, Zola and the Knot definitely are scamming you with their prices- ESPECIALLY for anything letterpressed.

Hey all, I really wanted to make my own invites/save the dates that have a little bit of whimsy and personality. For context, we're doing a very small wedding (<50) and it will be in a historic old house with a courtyard. I was inspired by some of the toile wallpaper in the building, and wanted to do a play on a gallery wall for the save the dates because it's something that has meaning to us. Can y'all give me any advice on how to make these look better? This was all made in Canva so far.

Some additional notes: not attached to this specific toile if y'all think it's super busy - I don't disagree. Also, the little insignia in the bottom left is meaningful to the spot we're getting married in - Not random clipart! I am struggling to center it, but will work on this.

Hi everyone! I searched this, but I’m looking to get more specifics in one place for more info.

I’m going to do our save the dates in canva (either by myself or with an Etsy template). I’ve seen people here say they printed with Canva, Zazzle, Walgreens, CVS, etc

What did you do and how did it turn out? My concern with Walgreens/CVS is that I want it to be matte, not glossy like a photo, but when I go through their photo ordering, I’m just seeing a glossy photo option. What is the workaround?

Would also love if you’re open to sharing a pic of your save the date with the method you chose! Thank you!!

Lots of trial and error, but a fun DIY project since getting invites professionally done with the look we wanted was insanely expensive (but understandable, now that we went through the process). Really proud of our partnership and how this all turned out, so wanted to share here! Used Canva, learned Cricut, shopped at Amazon and Michaels for paper and ribbon, and got a die-cut machine and folder from Amazon.

Envelope liners were from Etsy though... that was the one area where we were like "time is money, let's just buy it"

Showing in a few different lighting scenarios. What could I improve? I have pretty dry skin and rosacea and got a facial this week.

One of my closest friends made my bouquet and our boutonnieres using faux flowers

genuinely curious how this shakes out once it's all done.

So two questions. what's the thing you put the most money into and kinda regret? And flip side, what did you go cheap on that you wish you'd doubled down on?

No judgment either way, just trying to figure out what actually mattered on the day vs what didn't.

These vases are gorgeous but my venue doesn’t allow outside florals and their florals are $$$ so I’m wondering how I could incorporate my vases still. Leave them empty? They are more of a darker green in person. I have three total! Hoping for some tips! Thank you!

Any suggestions on where to find stained glass windows like this? Not having luck searching online.

I can’t believe the day is already over. My 55 person wedding was an absolute dream. I still can’t believe we didn’t have a single no show. Our venue was all inclusive and I DIYed my decor.

Flowers: $1000 (DIY with bud vases). We way overbought. And could have done it for much cheaper.

Table Decor: (floating candles, votives, bud vases, chargers): around $500. Some things are from marketplace, others from Amazon. Again, we overbought and didn’t use everything.

Signage: I made everything myself and kept signage very limited due to personal preference. I had a seating chart, 2 reserved signs, table numbers, a tag for my card box, and a standard 8.5 x 11 framed sign for signature cocktails. Cost came out to around $300 for everything. I don’t have a photo of my seating chart, but I draped a lace tablecloth over a large canvas, printed 5x7 cards, then wove ribbon around the boarder of each card. The table numbers are faux stained glass (not pictured, the gold frames I placed them in).

Favors: our initials are C&C so we made custom labels and handed out little tubes of “C&Cs” (M&Ms). Apparently bulk candy is expensive! This was $130.

Paper goods (menus, name cards, invites, envelope liners, save the dates): I went over the top in this category as paper crafting is what I love. I spent around $400-$500 here with upgraded paper, lace, tons of miscellaneous materials, etc. DIY is not always cheaper but I knew this going in.

I edited old can labels on Photoshop to include the names of those in our wedding party...produce is from Trader Joe's!

My mother-in-law and I collaged the pallet seating chart together :) I made the table number pennant flags with felt and my cricut!!

The spider plants are all babies from my spider plant! All of it was so much fun!!

Hi everyone! I’m planning my wedding and thinking of doing the photo decoration table myself because I feel that paying around $400–500 just for the setup isn’t really worth it.
Has anyone here done their own wedding photo table decorations? How did it turn out? What were the pros and cons of DIY-ing it?
I’d love to hear about your experiences, such as how much time it took, whether it saved money, and if there were any unexpected problems on the wedding day. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 😊

There was a heatwave that unfortunately wilted the sweet peas so I had to pull them before the ceremony, leaving naked greenery on the bottom half, but overall I still think she looks nice and wild and has the overall vibe I wanted

A few months ago, I shared some photos of my first attempt at dying sola wood flowers... I'm back to share my final results!

I dyed all the flowers myself and assembled them into 3 groomsmen boutonnieres, 2 mothers' corsages, 3 fathers' boutonnieres, 1 groom's boutonniere, 3 bridesmaid bouquets, and 1 bride bouquet.

I bought the gardenia kits as well as additional centerpiece kits in case I needed extra flowers and I'm so glad I did! Although I do have flowers left over, there were quite a few that were damaged or flawed. Somehow I have a ton of greenery left over though! I'm not sure if I'll use the leftovers for centerpieces or anything yet.

Has anyone got any advice on what kind of frame works well for stained glass effect wedding signs? Has anyone tried this with a moebe floating frame?

Took two days, but twisting the copper wires were surprisingly easy by hand.
Materials: copper wire, iridescent crystals, and ribbon.

The store I bought the dress at did not mention or offer up any assistance with persevering or cleaning..

It rained on our wedding day (poured) and we ended up jumping in the family farm pond as we were already drenched!

But… now what?

I was wondering what’s the best way to clean and steam my tablecloths. They are polyester and white. Some of them have stains! I was going to take them to a professional, but they told me it would be about $ 900!

My dad used to restore old windows and doors so he just happens to have a bunch of both lying around.

I used Reddit so much to help with my May 2026 wedding, so I wanted to post my own florals here!

Supplies:
•400 Random Assortment No Bark Sola Flowers (ended up with a LOT of extras, which I scattered on the centerpieces, the memorial table, etc) - $114
• Liquid glycerin from CVS - $10
• 6 sample size paints from Home Depot - $46
• 74 white and 64 blue hydrangeas from Amazon (needed all of these, I used white for the bridesmaid bouquets) -$86
• 200 pieces of faux eucalyptus (WAY WAY too much!!) - $45
• Frame from Amazon - $107
• 6 extra long solid core white pool noodles from Amazon - $68
• 100 pieces of floral wire from Amazon - $8
• 2 blocks of floral foam from Michael’s - I can’t remember the exact amount but it was cheap, less than $10
And my dad had zip ties that he let me use
Total: $494

Construction:
I used YouTube tutorials, which basically all used a dip dye method.

I used Tupperware bowls to mix the paint with hot water and glycerin. I wish I could give you ratios, but I kind of just followed my heart with that and it worked out well!

Painting the flowers took soo much longer than expected due to having to do it in batches because I did not have a lot of room to dry them, which takes about 24 hours. The navy blue flowers took two coats.

My mom helped me use a glue gun to attach floral wire to all of the wood flowers. The hydrangeas came with stems that attached easily.

My dad helped me by using his electric turkey carver to shape the noodles for the frame, which we then zip tied to the inside of the frame.

I put in the hydrangeas first and then the faux eucalyptus, then the wood flowers. I felt paralyzed at first but once I started, I kind of got in a flow state.

Note: If I did this again, I would do the eucalyptus first, then hydrangeas, then wood flowers.

Another thing I would do differently is to drape some blue or white fabric on the back of frame. It looked gorgeous from the front, but the back was just raw noodle and floral wire lol. This would have been fine, but we ended up using the ceremony space for cocktail hour due to rain and there was also a large mirror behind the sweetheart table, so people ended up seeing the raw side.

This was definitely a labor of love and took a lot of time and effort, but I would do it again for sure! It was great to be able to pick the exact colors I wanted and it did end up being a lot cheaper than any pre-made faux flower arches I could find, and I really love how it came out. I got a lot of compliments on it and people couldn’t believe I made it myself. I have no experience doing anything like this and it worked out amazing!!! Happy to answer any further questions !
