[PICTURE] how to cut own long-bob length

hiya. i can't afford hairdressers so I've bought some cheap salon scissors to do my own trims. i tried sectioning my hair into quarters to trim, but it's really difficult because the length is too long to see above my shoulders, too short to pull to the front & try to trim evenly. my hair also starts to get wavy within seconds of combing. would love any advice. pic is of hair length for reference!

Recommend a good hairstylist

Hi,

Looking for recommendations for a genuinely good hair stylist in and around Indiranagar.
I’m not looking for someone who’ll just give me the haircut I ask for without any input. I’d love a stylist who takes a more consultative approach—someone who understands the look I’m going for, considers my face shape, hair texture, hair density, and lifestyle, and tells me honestly whether a particular cut will actually suit me.
One thing that’s really important to me is how the haircut looks *after* I leave the salon. A lot of cuts look amazing when they’re freshly blow-dried and styled, but I want something that still looks good when my hair falls naturally on days I don’t have the time (or skill 😅) to style it.
Basically, I’m looking for someone who treats it like a collaborative decision rather than either forcing their own opinion or blindly doing whatever I ask for.
If you’ve had a stylist who really listens, gives thoughtful recommendations, and consistently nails cuts that grow out well, I’d really appreciate your suggestions. Thank you!

help me cut my hair

literally how do i convince my mum to let me cut a tiny bit of my hair.
i’m genuinely so sick of it to the point it’s making me depressed.
she’s known for being extremely controlling which is why she won’t even let me cut my hair.
she won’t give me a reason why , when i ask she just screams and runs away like a child.
i tried sitting down and talking to her about it like an actual adult but she starts crying and screaming.
at one point she wouldn’t even let me cut my bangs since they started covering my face.
i’ve been asking her for 8 years now and she’s only ever trimmed the dead ends off.
i think she knows i have a point on why i should cut it but she refuses to accept it.

my argument is that I’m a teenage and should be able to experiment around with styles , my appearance and other things.
it’s not like it’s anything inappropriate or unhealthy.
i’m taking my drivers test next year , i should be able to just cut a tiny bit of my hair off.

like i said , her argument is absolutely nothing.
she refuses to give me a reason why , she just cries and has a tantrum like a child.

the style i want cut is collar bone length basic cut , the haircut i have now is only a little bit longer so it’s basically a trim.

does anybody just have any idea how i can convince her before i just shave my whole head off. (dramatic joke)

[SHORT HAIR] Advice and products [EU] for regular buzz cuts needed!

Are there any products or methods that make it easy to regularly buzz cut your hair so it stays short? I usually let my hair grow out until it’s a couple of centimeters long and then shave it with a hair trimmer every other month. Now I am going a bit bald so my hair doesn’t look good when I let it get long. Is there any product sold in Europe, or preferably Sweden, that you could use to shorten your hair once a week and that isn’t a regular budget hair trimmer?

i was cutting my hair because its been bothering me a lot anddd... i definitely fucked up. My hair is naturally curly- this is how it looks straight. Should i just cut my hair short? I dont know how to fix this...

EDIT: thankyou all for the advice!! I didnt expect to learn so much about hair when i posted this. I washed my hair back to being curly and it doesnt really look that bad. It kind of just looks like i have my hair tucked behind my ears.

Thankyou to whoever pointed out that i need layers in the back of my head. I never realised how flat my hair was in the back😅 oops

How to get less of a middle part?

I've had long hair my whole life, and I just recently cut it so that it's not super short, but like around my ears, kinda. It just looks so awkward and fluffy with the middle part that I've had when I had longer hair. How can I get my hair to go back more instead of part in the middle so obviously? I look so stupid.

[TUTORIAL] I need help with my first haircut at home

Post image
4 Upvotes

It will be my first time cutting my hair on my own at home and I fell in love with this photo i found on Pinterest.

Does anyone have a link to a tutorial or something similar in order to achieve this exact look?

My hair is long enough in order to get rid of the split ends while still being long after the cut, so length is not a problem. I'm really having troubles finding a video that satisfies the feeling that it will look similar to the photo. I've been told that the way to describe it is "long V-cut with heavy internal layers", but I ain't no hairstylist so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

P.S. : I am totally aware that the person in the image has the hair styled and it will not look like that if i do not do anything to it. I'm just looking for a tutorial on cutting these kinds of layers🥲

Any Hair Stylist

Does anyone by any chance know a hair stylist who cuts hair with just scissors work, no clippers, as I got long and thin hair as a male, and I don’t like faded as my hair just looks completely horrible, and salons are mainly known here for women, but is there like a retired hair stylist or something?

Please any help would be appreciated

Location: Damascus

[BANGS/FRINGE] Hair too thin it sticks out ??

Anyone have any idea what a fix for this issue might be? The hair closest to my ear on my right side sticks out and cannot be convinced to do anything else, straightening it makes it worse. I wouldn’t even mind if the other side just matched or if it blended into the rest better, but it really stands out as just one part that sticks right out. Pic 2 is the offending side.

i got these photos from pinterest, just to confirm.

to start off, i do not trust my current hair stylist to cut my hair at all. asked her once, and never again... so how could i achieve this on my own? how do i part my hair to cut the layers?
also i currently have a shaggy mullet (or whatever youd like to call it) situation going on and im not sure if id have to grow my hair out so i could get what i want. my hair is kinda short, its just above my shoulders.

please be as specific as possible if you can, i want the best results possible. thank you :p

Clipper advice on these 3

So my wife has been cutting my hair for the last 6 months . I got her a second hand Wahl taper 89 , which I found out is a starter clipper in the salon industry.

Thinking of upgrading and sticking with corded. Debating on the Wahl legends or magic clips.

My hair is pretty coarse and usually she does a buzz cut or cre cut. Our daughter has been getting under cuts from her.

So my question is it worth it to upgrade to one of the clippers I mentioned ? Or would it be best to just stick with the Wahl taper 89 ? Either that or another type ? It would be strictly for home cuts. As well not wanting a at home clipper style. think Wahl specials for 29.95 clippers , guards , scissor and plastic bag cpar haha.

How do you cut hair so it looks like the first picture and not the second?

The first picture looks even, round, and thinner on the ends. The second picture looks fuller but the ends are splayed out and look uneven. What’s the technique to get the look from the first picture?
