Hey Duelists and Card Designers!
If you’re working on custom Yugioh cards and want to make sure your effects are written clearly, efficiently, and in proper PSCT (Problem-Solving Card Text), this is the thread for you.
This is an open SuperThread where I’ll personally help you write or revise your card effects using accurate PSCT - whether you’re
All skill levels are welcome!
Simply comment below with the text of your card’s effect. Be sure to provide additional contextual clues like whether this is intended on a Monster, Spell, Trap, and the type of each (Quick-Play, Continuous, etc). Helping out with the design and writing process.
I (or others here in the community!) will help reword it into clean, official-style PSCT and double-checking yugioh player’s for any logical or gameplay issues.
While I’ll be monitoring and replying as much as I can, anyone familiar with PSCT or interested in improving it is also encouraged to jump in and offer suggestions. The goal is to support each other and improve custom card quality as a whole.
Let’s make your cards feel like they came straight out of the official database! Looking forward to helping out. Let’s get those effects cleaned up and ready!
From your Problem Solving Tuning Magician, Dogga.

No AI.
In anticipation of the retrained archetype for the Winged Dragon of Ra, I made one for Slifer and the cards Yugi used with it in Battle City.

Yeah I decided to basically make my own mini archetype tonight. Let’s get right into it. Labyrinth Maze has the same 0 ATK and 3000 DEF, and a level of 6 instead of 5 now. Its effects are:
This card can be played as a Field Spell.
If this card is played as a Field Spell: Erect a labyrinth on the field. Both player’s monsters must move within the labyrinth, and their monsters can only move spaces once per turn. All monsters can move spaces up to their level. Both players can only declare attacks if their monsters are within moving range of another monster. All monsters with the name “Labyrinth” gain 500 ATK as long as this card is present on the field as a Field Spell.
Next up is Labyrinth Worm. It received a slight DEF buff from 1500 to 1600. Its ATK and attribute remains the same. It’s now level 4 instead of 5 and a beast instead of insect. For its effects:
When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Add one “Labyrinth” card to your hand.
This card does not need to move spaces.
You can only activate the first effect of “Labyrinth Worm” once per turn.
Next up is Labyrinth Shadow. It received a change in both its ATK and DEF, going from 1600 ATK to 2400 ATK and from 3000 DEF to 2400 DEF. It’s level and attribute remained the same. It went from a warrior monster to a fiend monster. It has the following effects:
This card can be Special Summoned from your hand by banishing one “Labyrinth” monster from the Graveyard.
As long as “Labyrinth Wall” is on the field as a Field Spell, this card cannot be targeted for battle or by card effects unless it declares an attack.
This card does not need to move spaces.
And finally the big bot. Labyrinth Machine. It received a change in both its ATK and DEF, going from 2400 ATK/DEF to 3100 ATK and 2700 DEF. It went from level 7 to 8. And it is no longer a fusion monster, but rather an effect monster. Going over its effects:
While this card is on the field, “Labyrinth Wall” cannot be targeted by your opponent’s card effects. This effect cannot be negated.
When your opponent activates a Monster effect, once per turn: Negate that effect, and destroy that card.
What kind of cards do you think would be useful for this archetype?

Yes this is strong, but honestly modern Yugioh is cracked and Scrap is weak as hell. The idea is to level the playing field by forcing everyone to blow their own stuff up in true Scrap fashion. Inspired by Scrap Shark, the monster that blows up if somebody breathes too hard in the same room as it. The art is Rustin Mammoth, of the Blazing Dominion set.
EDITED EFFECT: changed to “except "Scrap Tusk" to prevent an unintentional self loop.
Card text: 1 “Scrap” Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner “Scrap” monsters
Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can destroy 1 “Scrap” monster you control, and if you do, face-up monsters on the field gain “When an Effect Monster’s effect or a Spell/Trap Card is activated, destroy this card.” If this card is destroyed by the effect of a “Scrap” card, Special Summon 1 “Scrap” monster from your GY, except "Scrap Tusk". Its activated effects are treated as Quick Effects.

I like Geminis fr, because of how they worked I needed to do a Suship red like thing since GY effects don't really work with Gemini monsters, also this is a riff on Geminize Lord Golknight. This also makes Tri-Wight searchable, I might have to make a Skull Servant contact fusion to capitalize on it.
The art is from the original Yu-Gi-Oh Manga

"Just let those judged be burned, everything burn!"
Art is made by through the use of ai but one day ill redraw it by myself just want to know other peoples thoughts about this card...
My goal would be make a card that people can build around, the deck must have a fun iconic playstyle preferably like aggro or mega beedrill style play. Just a card everyone can remember and have fun with, also yeah tried to placed the boardwipe on the damage step so at least it have some kind of protection from rampant negates... Also if your asking, it can perform a direct attack if its able to activate its effect so potentially ending the duel if it get on the battle phase with 8 other card on the field with "Damnation counters" on, What you think of good strats with it

The idea popped into my mind when I was thinking, "What is a character or creature that is featured in a few card artworks or so, but is not its own card yet?" And when the question was formed, I thought of "Rush Recklessly", and so came this card!
As always, feel free to send me your thoughts and criticisms down below. God bless the rest of your day, and stay blessed, custom folks 👋

Rush, the Reckless Abandoned
Level 6 EARTH Beast Effect Monster
ATK: 2800
DEF: 1000
Card Text:
If this card whose current ATK is higher than its original ATK battles an opponent's monster, any battle damage it inflicts to your opponent is doubled.
At the end of the Damage Step, when this card battles an opponent's monster, but this card was not destroyed by the battle: Destroy this card, and if you do, destroy 1 card your opponent controls.
If a Quick-Play Spell or Trap was activated this turn (Quick Effect): You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, you can Set 1 "Rush Recklessly", "Super Rush Recklessly" or "Super Rush Headlong" directly from your Deck.
It can be activated this turn.
You can only use this effect of "Rush, the Reckless Abandoned" once per turn.

This is a continuation of a previous post I made (see here). Here, I added in a Ranked-Up version of Aten-Ra, along with a corresponding Rank-Up Magic Card, and also three support monsters for the various "Ra" monsters, known as the "Eye(s) of Ra". As with before, all of the monsters are named after, and based on actual Gods of Egyptian Mythology.
Card Art: Ptah-Ra, Rank-Up Magic Solar Apotheosis, Bastet, Hathor, Sekhmet

Art from Cardfight Vanguard.
Effect Text:
(Quick Effect): You can tribute 1 face-up monster whose effects are negated on either field; Special Summon this card from your hand. While this card is in your hand or field: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Effect Monster on the field; negate its effects until the end of this turn. This is a Quick Effect while you control no monster other than "Milicent, the Skillstealing Lancer", also neither player can activate the target monsters effects in response to this effect activation. You can only use each effect of "Milicent, the Skillstealing Lancer" once per turn.

Emerging from the deepest shadows, Shadowscale Dreadwyrm is a DARK Dragon that thrives on battlefield control rather than overwhelming force. Every ability is designed to disrupt the opponent’s strategy while maintaining pressure throughout the duel.
Its dark purple scales, razor-sharp armor, and aura of corrupted energy portray an ancient dragon that has survived countless battles. Instead of relying solely on raw ATK, it weakens enemies, suppresses their abilities, and ensures its legacy lives on even after leaving the field.
This card is built for duelists who enjoy tactical gameplay, resource management, and intelligent decision-making over simple brute force.

Hello there!
This time I want to showcase an Archetype, I created for personal Use in Edo Pro and Omega, that was long time in my Head: The Six Paths of Pain from the Naruto Franchise.
Pain/Nagato is in my Eyes the best Antagonist in the entire Naruto-Franchise and because I am fanboying alot I now created this Archetype, which relies on simple, but efficient effects. All "Six Paths" monsters share the same ability, that they cannot be targeted for attacks or effects (Because of the linked Rinnegan-Eyes they all share.)
There are 3 Key monsters in this Deck which keep it running: Animal Path and Naraka Path, which summons other Pain monsters, and Preta Path, which makes all other Pains unaffected by effects, but not himself, which is a significant Weakness to use against this Deck.

The Next 2 where a bit tricky for me, because I had no idea, where to go with them. The Human Path and the Asura Path. So I decided, that these 2 Guys should be the offensive Dudes in this Deck. Human Paths banishing effect was chosen, because of his ability in the show to extract the Souls of his victims and Asura Path should work as the working muscle of the Deck, because that was also his Role in the Show.

That would be 5 of the 6 Paths and now the Semi-Boss is coming: The Deva Path, which was choosed to be an XYZ monster, because the sixth path had to be an Extra-Deck Monster to have all 6 on the field and because I was thinking, that his abilitys works best as an XYZ- monster. He is easy to summon in this Deck and is powering up with each other path he is attaching to him, until his Mass Destructing Ability from the show becomes available, which, however leaves him vulnerable and unable to attack.

As you may noticed, should you have make it so far, after all the reading: The human based Paths of Pain are specifically interacting with Warrior, Spellcaster and Machine "Pain" monsters, but as we all know, there are not only human based Pains, as the Animal Path have the ability to Special Summon any "Six Paths of Pain" monster from the Deck or Hand, which includes the following creatures:

These Baddies bring some brute Force to the Pain Archetype as they are meant to overhelm the enemy with their offensive abilities. However. They are not so easy to summon, as only the Animal Path is available to Special Summon them, which makes him/her even more important for this whole Archetype.
As for the Spell/Trap cards I wanted them to rely on the Deva Path, as he is the main Path of Pain and to represent his Abilitys, he was showing in the series, after using the power of other Paths:

The Spell and Trap Part is not much for now, but i want to make an Field Spell which reflects Nagatos control over Amegakure and maybe more cards to support this whole Archetype, but have to gather ideas, first. Also, Nagato is planned as an Pain-Effect copying All in One Package of the Six Paths and ultimately some Sort of Gedo Mazo Statue card but these are only conceptual in the moment.
I appreciate any critism and ideas for this Archetype and what is most important for me to know is, if these cards are a bit to broken, or exactly right or way to crappy to compete in any game.
ALL of the images where found in Google Picture Search and where worked on with Google Gemini, because Gemini can sometimes produce some insane cool looking Images if you just enter the right prompts.

No I don’t consider Manga Ryu-Ran a retrain. Ryu-Ran is one of my favorite monsters so this was definitely fun for me. Hatched Ryu-Ran has 2600 ATK and 3000 DEF, which is direct upgrade from Ryu-Ran’s 2200 ATK and 2600 DEF. His level is now 8 instead of 7. For his effects:
This card can be Special Summoned from the hand or Deck by banishing Ryu-Ran from your hand or Field.
Once per turn, when this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Draw two cards, then if those cards were Dragon Monsters, gain LP equal to their ATK.
All non-Fire Attribute monsters on the field lose 200 ATK/DEF while this card is on the field.
This card cannot be destroyed by battle while in Defense Mode.
You’ll definitely be running him most for that second effect since it’s basically a pot of greed that can give you LP

Credits on the bottom right of the cards
I had the idea for a sort of War archetype for some months now, specifcially in those stories where, during trenches warfare, a lot of lives are lost just to win a mile. So, the idea is that you have thus monsters that give you some sort of benefit on Summon but die when doing it, just to be immediately (and mandatory) replaced by a new recruit. Then it occured to me to mix with Chess Pawns, because of "treating lives as pawns" idea, with Pawns being the most numeruous and expendable piece of Chess, usually the first to be sacrificed for positional advantage, while also being unable to retreat. It helped make it feel a little more like a YuGiOh archetype, thanks to being a little less grimm and also a mix of 2 different but sort of thematically related things. Also this Chess inspiration is only for the Pawns, unlike Angelechy, which is based on Chess in general.
The gameplan is supposed to be a Control Deck that keeps gaining advantage thanks to how the monster keep replcing themselves, while also gaining more and more ways to disrupt the opponent. In this sense is kinda similar to Eldlich, tho the reliance on a lot of Continuous Spell/Trap should make running floodgates more difficult. Having Army General as a Turn 0 option should also make it a bit less slow and reliant on going first, which is important due to the nature of the Deck needing you to run full 3 copies of every monster. As a reward to that, the Quick Effects of Army General are not Once per turn. You can only use each copy on your hand once, since you will not be able to reveal it a second time on the same turn, but you can discard it for the second effect, get it back in hand with the 3rd (which is its only HOPT) and then use its effect again.
As a bit of trivia, the Deck would originally have as a win condition a literal alternative win con, of banishing 3 Army General from hand during a duel a big number of card had been destroyed (20 or 30, I change ideas before deciding), but I felt like counting tht mid game would be a but annoying, and also I thought the idea of having multiple continuous card that give you 100 stats for each face-up card to be much more interesting gameplay wise, even if less flashy.
The Archetype's name originally was gonna be "Expawndable" but it sounded to much like "Expandable" rather than "Expendable", which is why I change it, since, while not perfect I felt like "Dispawndable" sounded better as a portmanteau with "Dispensable" and "Pawn".
