I'm recently new to respecting my hair, for the past few years I usually just did a simple wash with shampoo and conditioner, (I used Ogx coconut curls), and scrubbed out my hair pretty rough with a towel.
Now I've been testing out several products but have centered around:
SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus Shampoo + Conditioner,
SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus smoothie,
SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus mousse,
A few things to consider:
my household has very hard water according to my parents,
I DO NOT own a microfiber towel, I usually use a t-shirt,
I DO NOT own a diffuser,
My shower head has very hard water pressure.
I am male, with short-ER not super short or long, dense, curly hair.
I would prefer not to post a photo of myself... :)
So far it has been a bit rough, I've had many bad days with my hair, It usually ends up messy, frizzy & hairs sticking everywhere, and very flat on the top which I can't seem to get right, and I'm trying to get my hair to be softer after it dries. My routine (for hair) is as follows:
Get in shower, wash hair gently on WARM water, once soaked apply shampoo into the roots/scalp of my head, give it a good scrub, wash out with slightly colder water.
(Some times if I'm feeling fancy I apply a Apple cider vinegar rinse bcuz apprently its good for frizz and hard water...)
Apply conditioner to mid-length to ends of hair, rub it around, let it sit for 2-3 minutes and wash it out with COLD water.
Once out immedieatly apply the smoothie + mousse, pat slightly with shirt.
I've watched tons and tons of videos, they all say different things, I've also tried combing my hair in the shower in the past but it usually makes it more frizzy (I use wide tooth only when hair is wet). And I'm also considering getting more products although I'm not sure if it will be too much, I'm considering SheaMoisture Coconut Hibiscus Milk, Boucecurl style brush, Some type of Hardwater cleanser, and hair oils. BUT I have also been told that I should be getting even MORE products, like product cleanser shampoos, and moisturizers, etc... Is this too many products? ALSO I'm also curious about finger coiling, but last time I tried... it went... very bad.... ALSO also, every time I put a shirt on after doing all this it messes up my hair pretty bad and gets my shirt all wet. any tips on that?
I know this is a ton, but if anybody can help with any part of it, (ESPECIALLY with routine and products) it would be greatly appreciated...... I can answer any questions as well to the best of my ability!!!
(Also P.S if anybody knows how to style my hair in the morning without taking showers because apprently I'm not supposed to shower everyday, please tell me! My hair looks like a disaster in the morning!).
