My latest blanket
Just finished this blanket today! Stash buster project, with a pattern like one my great grandmother used to make. I didn’t realize till I was about halfway through that the main blue color I used was a discontinued colorway, so it’s not as wide as I would have liked, but I’m not about to overpay for one more skein off eBay lol. It’s still a decent size though- 38” x 76”
Yarn- Vanna’s Choice- Electric Blue (Discontinued)
Red Heart Super Saver- Charcoal

5 month long project…going to be a wedding gift
trying this again, as my last post didn’t include photos.
I worked on this blanket for 5 months. it is the Stellar Bloom Blanket by PeriwinkleCrochetAUS.
I used mostly Premier Cotton Sprout yarn.
I also added my own border.
It is a king size blanket intended as a wedding gift for my daughter.
I also made a daisy granny square tote with some of my stash and scrap yarn to gift it in 😊

The Round About Blanket
Free Pattern on Yarnspirations. By Creative Grandma. There is also a 3 part tutorial on her YouTube channel. I think Lovey Dovey loves our new blanket. I used Red Heart Ombre in the color Scuba Turquoise and White.

From leftover yarn to Classic Space: Benny in crochet form.
galleryA while ago my wife asked if I had any ideas for using up an excess of blue and yellow wool.
Without thinking too hard, I said, “Crochet Benny.”
Instead of laughing it off, she recruited her mom, and together they got to work.
Over the following weeks they crocheted more than 2,400 individual granny squares, joined them all together, and somehow turned that offhand suggestion into this enormous Benny rug.
The close-up photo shows just how much work went into it—every “pixel” is its own crocheted square. It measures roughly 1.8 × 1.5 m (6 × 5 ft) and is now probably the most comfortable Classic Space tribute in our house.
Space may be the final frontier, but apparently crochet is a close second.
SPACESHIP!

Is this border thick enough?
I'm finally finished this blanket and I can't decide how thick to make the border. This is 3 rows of the pearl stitch. Should I make it thicker? Like 5 rows?

This took me way longer than I expected... but I think it was worth it.

Border suggestions
This is still a WIP but wanted to get ahead of myself and ask for some good border patterns/stitches for this baby blanket, thanks in advance!

Not loving it
I loved this yarn on the skein. In the blanket, not so much. It’s been slow going and I hate I don’t love it. I’ve been at it at least 3 weeks and am not even half way. The yarn is too slinky and stretchy. The blanket is square but stretches easy. And I’m not digging the colors suddenly.

Posted on here earlier that I’m attempting this blanket with just a stitch diagram - here’s a progress update! Can you see where my dog ate part of my pattern? 🥲
