Regarding Crossposts and Screenshots of other Subs

There is a new rule for screenshots and crossposts.

If you are wanting to share something from another sub to mock or disagree with, you need to screenshot it and blackout the name of that sub as well as the usernames in the post.

Do not crosspost subs that are opposed to the general views here.
(This does not apply to posts from X, Bluesky, or similar websites. As long as you aren’t posting someone’s personal Facebook, I wouldn’t worry about other sites.)

If you are sharing something that is in line with the general opinions of our sub, that’s fine. But we can’t be seen as directing negative attention towards other subs. We will be held accountable to extents that most subreddits won’t because wrongthink happens here.

We will not be banning people for this, but the posts will be removed if you don’t meet these standards.

Obviously this all kinda falls under rules 1 and 8, but I wanted it to be clear.

That’s all I got for today. Go away now.

If race doesn’t matter in fictional stories why does the cast of Netflix’s Children of Blood and Bone look so… one sided?

Can someone name a video game (not a mobile game) made exclusively by women with no men involved among the top 100 best-selling video games? I'll wait. 99% of video games are created, written, designed, and developed solely by men especially White Men and Asian men!! DEI has ruined video games!!

Without men, you wouldn't have had the PlayStation/Xbox/Nintendo/PC, or played Battlefield, Fortnite, Call of Duty, GTA, Minecraft, Sports, Racing, or 99% of single-player games

Discussion Why did The Odyssey score lower than The Woman King?

Day one, The Odyssey had 97% of its “verified users” give it at least a 6 out of 10, which is fine, but it is still lagging behind cinematic masterpieces like The Woman King, which had 99% of its “verified users” give it at least a 6 out of 10! What do you guys think Nolan could’ve done differently to get as many 6s as some of the greats, such as (checks notes) The Woman King?

Did Nolan not stray far enough from the source material or not include enough female fighters? Where did Nolan go wrong?

New trailer for Mike Flanagan’s “Clayface” — Will DC get a win after the “Supergirl” fiasco with this one?

I could see this one going either way. Flanagan is great but not necessarily known for box office success. They seem to be marketing this as a straight horror movie, releasing right before Halloween.

I searched "Nerdrotic" to see if there was a sub and this was the second result (first suggested search term was "nerdrotic is toxic" lmao). I'm assuming a lot of you guys are fans of his, too, so you'd get a kick out of this

"Nerdrotic is genuinely evil"

What I just love about this shit is that when a certain convicted felon in Minneapolis, who pulled a gun on a *pregnant woman* while robbing her house with her toddler inside it, dies while commissioning his 9,279th felony, these same fucking people say "his criminal record doesn't matter" "why do you even care?" "that doesn't make him a bad person"

But when a 22 year old Gary sells meth to high schoolers *thirty years ago,* does his time, comes out, gets clean, turns his life around, *stays* clean, runs a small business for a decade, then creates a massively successful YouTube channel... well he's just evil, and don'tcha know he's a convicted felon? Can't trust him with anything ever.

Why?

Because he doesn't like the same movies they do, and has the balls to unashamedly call out the people creating this slop.

Elon Musk will be making a new Odyssey film with Grok! It will be anti-woke and true to Homer's story and spirit.

Fresh off the spectacular failure of Nolan's disaster of an adaptation of the Odyssey, Musk will come to correct it's failings and create a master piece that will blow Nolan out of the water.

He says it should be ready for the end of the year. Hopefully with a full cinema release to destroy Nolan's box office total ahead of the end of the year. It won't outdo it for awards - Hollywood has that rigged - but you can tell from the critical and commercial backlash against Nolan's Odyssey that there will be big demand for this authentic retelling.

Discussion A platform known for removing "unsavory" reviews is rigging the audience scores? What's new?

The process of having your review on RT labelled as verified requires buying a movie ticket through Fandango. You can buy it through other platforms as well, provided that a link was made between fandango and your theater loyalty account.

You can watch the movie, but if you bought a movie ticket through other channels, you review won't be verified, meaning it won't add up to the arithmetic mean displayed on the audience score. In the event that you buy the ticket through a recognized platform, but the e-mail used in different from your fandango account it won't be verified.

The lengths the people who administer these platforms will take in order to defend big studio productions and the fragile ego of its production executives is exactly why you can't take audience ratings seriously.

Let's also take the fake reviews into account.

"But... there are no fake reviews."

Everyone can accept that, if you could care to explain how more than 30 reviews from users claim that it's the best Christopher Nolan movie, a generational masterpiece, one of the best movies they've seen in their entire lifes or their favorite movie of all time. More than 30 is an oversimplification, since I have only read a few.

Many will claim that review bombing takes away credibility from audience scores overall. Sometimes it's a correct affirmation, in cases like myanimelist, where every other anime gets downvoted into oblivion so that Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood can stay on top. But when the opposite happens and the movie gets upvoted artificially, the same people will claim that the score is authentic and people can't fake reviews.

Funny how bias works, isn't it?!

How is that the movie The Northman escaped the DEI hammer?

Post image

How did this movie by Robert Eggers not get hammered with DEI casting? I’m surprised at how faithfully they cast the characters close to their cultural heritage. I’m planning to watch this so I looked up the cast. Was surprised it wasn’t butchered like they usually do with stories set within western culture.
