Made a giant crochet hook and two knitting needles for my best friend and I’s ren fair costumes this year! I’ve also just finished adding this crab stitch border to the underbust corset I finished crocheting the other day. I might try to make my entire outfit at this point 😮‍💨 everything is coming out much better than I’m anticipating. And a majority of the materials I’m using I either already had or could get for free, so yay affordable crafts!

last month i participated in a sewing swap— (most) everyone made the same pattern and did a secret santa style gift exchange.

i’ve only made a handful of bags, or woven things in general, so i was skeptical when other participants claimed the pattern wasn’t clear. psyched myself out for nothing! it was a joy to sew and i learned a lot about bag construction.

the first picture is what i sent (plus goodies!) and the second was what i was gifted. why i chose to create my own textile having never tried it before i don’t know, but i love the result! ofc the one i received instantly became the weed bag 😜

Making this using the copper foil, or Tiffany, technique. Glass pieces are cut and the edges are covered with a strip of copper foil, which you can then use to solder the pieces together. I broke the Jeep down into multiple panels, with these side ones being the most intricate ones. I used pictures of my dad’s Jeep and the online measurements to scale it down to about 1:20. This is my first 3D piece so I’m basically winging it but I’m having a great time bringing it to life! And my dad is gonna flip when he sees it which will be the best part 🥰

Hey! I am moving to a new place and my only source of light after dark will be this bendy 6 light lamp. I think this is a neat time to experiment with making it fun, so I’m curious: is there any recommendations you have for making the lights more fun

For example, I want them to project fun colors and patterns, but I’m not sure how to do that or what materials to use.

Does anyone have any ideas for a case for a Yocan ziva pro when heading out. The smallest Ryot gear cases look great but I can’t find one in stock in Aus. Anyone found a neat secure solution? I hate it being loose in my hand bag, the original box is slowly disintegrating.
