Allagash's Chocolate Orange Porter Beer Review!

This one was an interesting one for me! I typically don't go out of my way for porters as I am more of an IPA, Lager, Ale drinker but I saw this one and thought I had to see what it's about! I know chocolate and orange together are that combo that people like but I didn't know how it would mix in a beer. You do get your typical Porter notes with a sweeter coffee upfront, then a rich chocolately following up, then on the backend you get that citrus/orange note.
Overall an interesting one and a good taste, but I personally couldn't drink a lot of these! Worth the try for sure though, especially if this is your usual go to's!

At 7% this one has a lot of flavor and overall an easy sipper with good cholocate and orange notes!

You guys ever get a porter or ipa and it just tastes like metal more then anything? That’s what this tastes like. I feel like it’s happened to me with porters before

Greetings and Salutations ladies and gents. I'm planning a trip in late August from AZ all the way to Vancouver, Canada, then down through the National Parks in WA, through Seattle, down to Portland, over to Tillamook for cheese and De Garde. I'll also be making stops in Florence, OR and over the Sisters to Redmond, OR to visit friends. Last leg is down to Lassen National Park, then back to AZ. I'm giving myself two weeks for the trip. An establishment that pours Outlaw Light or something similar (Garage) loses all credibility as a high-end craft beer/cocktail destination for me.

They need to pour a keg of super low-quality beer in order to have a healthy margin? Come on. At least with LITE, BUD, COORS you are getting world-renowned breweries with quality control and brewing traditions spanning years that already have millions of customers.

Bars that have high-priced cocktails and food menu items lose me when they just want a cheap beer for the sake of it being cheap.

Anyone else drink 9.1%?
