Rules Changes in the sub - April 23, 2026.

Everyone,

I'm getting tired of all the vibe coded app, "I made a website", "LOOK AT WHAT I EARNED THIS WEEK"(shows self-coded app), "HOW DO YOU [research question that has been asked 100 times in the sub]?!" camouflaged self-promotion posts.

So, I've made a megathread. All that goes in there now for 99% of the posts.

There will be the occasional thread that's allowed to hit the main page, but it will be very limited in scope. An example of something that would be an exception is a major policy change at Amazon Flex and... let's say... the NYT wants input on it.

I'm always open to suggestions and I'm trying to grow the community and make it a resource, not just another drive-by-to-spam place for developers/researchers.

Promote your website, service, and/or app here and only here. Any other posts are going to be flagged, nuked, and you'll probably get the ban hammer applied.

Uber Walking in DC

Anyone with experience in doing walking orders in DC have any tips on the best areas/times/days of the week? I’ve been doing this for like a week in the Chinatown/Dupont area and will get only 1-3 orders in a 4 hour time span if I’m lucky, many times I get none :( The orders I’ve received I’ve been able to do in less than 20 minutes too so its been a lot of downtime in between orders. Help a broke brother out 💔

(If you’re not familiar with Uber Walking, they only give orders that are under 1 mile.)

TX COURIERS NEEDING HELP

I’ve seen where others can come on here and ask questions and maybe get some input! Hoping this might help!
Myself and six other people work for a courier service and we are supposed to get paid for work that we did three weeks prior every Monday. We normally get an email stating that our direct deposit will be available as soon as it clears the bank but this week that did not happen ! We received no warning that we were not gonna get paid. We just haven’t gotten paid.! They stated that the company they do business with has not paid the invoices and do they can’t pay us !

We are all located in Texas. I do basically everything for this company. I’m up doing the dispatch every time my phone rings anywhere in a 24/7 period! I literally sleep between phone calls! I also do runs all over Texas and Louisiana. If I were to quit, this company would go under.! All of the labs that they are associated with tell me they think that I’m running it anyway!
Me personally I just wanna get paid!!! if they do not pay me by Friday, I’m going to be facing my bills due, My rent will be due, my car note is already due, not to mention the insurance comes out on the 30th!
I just honestly don’t know what I’m supposed to do!
Then today I called them to ask them what is going on and to explain to them that everybody is coming to me for answers and I don’t know what to tell them. The owner gets mad and she hangs the phone up on me. Real professional!

New mileage tax rate?? FYI the mileage deduction rate changed again on July 1, 2026 to 76 cents

I track my mileage as best I can (drove ~43,000 mi last year), and just found out about the tax rate change. How are we supposed to know about changes like this? I hadn’t heard anything about it until I got an email with this post last week. For all, I'd make sure you don’t miss out on the extra deduction for the second half of the year. Feels like it might be a nightmare for taxes next year with the mid-year change, but I’ll take what I can get I guess.

DeliverThat shady business practice

I’ve gotten to know my local Mendocino Farms managers pretty well. All of them have confirmed that they’re unaware of the so-called “lift program” aka tip pool. In conversation they brought up how good the tips could be. When I tell them that we don’t get the hotel they were flabbergasted.

So now the question is, can DeliverThat be sued for stolen wages? I know you guys seen that estimated payout and when it closes out, you usually only get an extra dollar nowhere near the higher end of that range. If you’re doing an order and the tip is $100 but being paid out 32 where is that other $68 going? I’ve i’ve done three out of the five orders at one location once and the other driver had two. We looked at the invoices and the tips totaled $400 between the 5 orders. We submitted a gratuity request and got denied. Our final payout for those five orders was 32 and a couple pennies.

There’s gotta be some way to hold them accountable.

Another catering order in the books. 💰🍽️ DeliverThat keeps reminding me that patience pays. One good catering delivery can beat a stack of small orders. Less driving. Bigger payouts. Work smarter. 🚗💸 #DeliverThat #CateringDelivery #GigLife #WorkSmart

Sysco or Pepsi Driver?

I understand that both of these positions are the same from what I've read. Maybe someone here has experience with both or 1 of em. I'm just looking for some different perspectives at the end of the day.

For context, I'm a combat vet who spent my entire adult life in combat zones in the military and private military. I'm really fit

Sysco food delivery: 28 per hour. 15 miles away from home. Home daily. I've heard this is long hours. But I don't know about my area. I'm in central Texas

Pepsi Geo driver: 32 per hour. 35 miles away from home. Home daily. I'm assuming this sub knows about this position. I've heard it's less brutal than Sysco on the physical aspect and the hours

What do y'all think

What GPS fleet tracking system has held up as your fleet expanded?

We currently have a small fleet (2 trucks), but we're planning to add more vehicles over the next couple of years. I'd rather choose a tracking platform now that won't need to be replaced once the fleet gets bigger.

I've been looking at a few different options, including GPSWOX. The feature list looks solid—live tracking, trip history, geofencing, driver behavior, fuel monitoring, etc.—and the pricing seems reasonable for a small operation. Still, it's hard to tell how well these platforms perform once you're managing a larger fleet.

For those of you who have been through this, what are you using now? Has it scaled well as your business grew? Any issues with pricing, reliability, support, or features being locked behind higher-tier plans?

I'd appreciate any real-world experiences or recommendations. Thanks!

Beware of Raunak Cargo Movers : my move from Mumbai turned into a 7-day nightmare

Posting this so it shows up for anyone searching this mover's name before booking — wish I'd found a post like this before I did.

I recently moved from Mumbai to my hometown and hired Raunak Cargo Movers (they don't even have a Google Business listing). Here's what happened:

  • Quoted Rs. 15,000 for the full move, agreed in advance.
  • Guy was great pre-booking — responsive, agreed to bubble-wrap all my glass items, team showed up on time and packed everything neatly.
  • The moment the truck was loaded, he called saying my stuff was "more than I disclosed" and Rs. 15,000 wouldn't cover it, even though his own team packed it and saw exactly how much there was.
  • Sent a revised invoice for almost double, adding a Rs. 6,000 "insurance" charge I had explicitly told him I didn't want, plus Rs. 10,000 extra for "extra luggage."
  • When I pushed back on the insurance charge specifically, he said he'd "already paid the company" and it was non-refundable — classic non-answer.
  • Then came the pressure: pay now or your stuff gets offloaded. My belongings were literally in his truck at that point, so I didn't have much choice. Paid 70% (Rs. 20,000) under pressure.
  • Promised 2-day delivery. Day 2 came and went. Then it became "tomorrow," then "day after," on repeat.
  • He handed my stuff off to a transporter in Indore, and then the transporter started asking for the remaining payment before they'd even move the truck. Asked for video proof my stuff was okay; never got it.
  • Paid the remaining Rs. 10,000 anyway, still with zero proof.
  • Transporter hadn't actually already received the goods the day they asked me to pay, but claimed otherwise ("we have your good and please pay else truck won't move"), a driver later called me next day directly and told me he just reached Indore, so I knew the transport guy was lying.
  • The transport guy from that day, stopped picking up the phone, responding to messages, so did the packers and movers. When picked once out of 10-15 calls we made, the transport guy had the audacity to fight back saying "Bhijva dunga saman, paise deke koi ehsan thori kia hai" & when I also fought he was like "Jao nahi bhejuga saman".
  • Total time from pickup to delivery: 7 days, against a promised 2. Radio silence most of that time — answered maybe 1 in 10 calls.

Good news: everything arrived intact, no damage. But the whole process was financially and mentally exhausting, and the insurance charge for something I explicitly declined still hasn't been resolved.

Filed a formal consumer complaint, but wanted this out here too since they have no Google Business Profile so reviews/warnings don't show up the normal way when you search them. If you're evaluating movers in Mumbai and this name comes up, get everything in writing, don't pay any "revised" amount without a paper trail, and never make a final payment before you have actual proof of your goods.

Happy to answer questions if anyone's currently dealing with the same company.

Better Trucks INC

Looking for reviews for people who have worked for this company(customers welcome to). Coming to my market soon and curious since they have such bad reviews.

They use Branch for pay and own BT app for route assignment. Guessing you use your own navigating app of your choosing. Advertising $75-140 same day pay

Seim dei feedback?

Anyone have any experience with Seim Dei?

They're onboarding is super annoying and wonder if its worth paying for the third party mvr check. (this is the annoying part: I purchased my mvr from az state and even though seim dei gives you the option to upload it they deny it and force you to pay $$ for partner mvr check "Yarkstik")

Themed Couriers?

I'm in Los Angeles.

Is there a service/platform for hiring couriers of a specific designation? Like to have a certain look or dress or something of that nature?

I got the idea while I was watching Clue, and learned singing telegrams were/are a thing.

I have a birthday party planned for a friend, and I kinda want to have invitations sent out by someone dressed/acting like the grim reaper or a mortician. We're into that sort of thing.

Ny leveransförare som söker råd

Hey everyone,
I’m about 2 weeks into my first delivery job, and honestly I’m struggling.
I have ADHD, and my biggest problems are loading the van, finding packages quickly, and remembering everything I need to do. I have to write down almost everything I’m told, otherwise I’ll forget it.
I’m also losing a lot of time with things like customers not answering, not knowing how to buzz me into the building, or having to call multiple times before I can make the delivery.
It’s gotten to the point where I lost my full-time position and was moved to part-time because I was too slow. Most days I start at 7 a.m. and don’t get home until around 7–8 p.m., and by then my brain is completely exhausted.
For those of you who’ve been doing this for a while:
How did you get faster?
Do you have any loading or organizing tips?
How do you deal with all the small delays throughout the day without getting behind?
Did anyone else struggle this much in the beginning?
I really want to improve, so I’d appreciate any advice.

What I imagine Uber Freight deliveries look like.

I was surprised to discover not long ago that Uber does Uber Freight deliveries, like Uber Courier but for drivers with big rigs. Based on my experience with Uber in general, this is exactly what I assume Uber Freight deliveries look like. 😂

Anyone driving on Curri?

I just saw that Curri is coming to us in Canada and wanted to see if anyone is on it, and if so how is it? Pretty good deliveries?
