I was lucky enough to come across the Corridor Digital crew at Open Sauce this year, they had an awesome 3d printed zoetrope exhibit that, to my shock was being set up by none other than Daniel himself. I told him how much I loved his videos and how they inspired me to begin making my own videos.

He asked whether I would like one of his dioramas, and in my surprise I nearly declined because I understood the effort required to assemble it because I had planned to print my own after the video was released. I couldn’t say no to his generous offer, I brought it home, and it now rests in my workshop, encouraging me whenever I walk past it.

I know it was limited but aren't there some people who sell it? I am from Europe btw so getting Corridor merch is kind of a problem due to shipping and taxes

In the scene where they face the giants did anyone else notice the trees moving? Once I noticed that I switched into corridor mode and was like how are they doing that? And I thought I could see a practical ring on the ground maybe even two that might have had the trees or platform spinning with the actors or camera on it.

I just thought this might be interesting here and maybe others saw it and could confirm or at least talk about my theory. I have heard lots about Polyphemus and I’d love to talk about Cerci but this is the only effect I caught and thought I could actually see how they were doing it in camera and wanted to hear others thoughts.

I read somewhat this was 7ft tall actors verus5 foot tall stand ins, and a bit of forced perspective. I'd love to see the crew cover this film.

Cool to read about how they stitched this all together! This moment freaked me out as a kid.

I’ve heard stories about big film productions where entire VFX sequences—sometimes involving dozens of artists and weeks or even months of work—ended up being completely scrapped because the director or the studio changed their mind.
Is that actually common in the VFX industry?
I’m asking because I occasionally have clients who decide at the last minute that they want to go in a completely different direction. It’s frustrating enough on a small scale, but I can’t imagine what it must feel like when an entire team has poured thousands of hours into a sequence only for it to be thrown away and rebuilt from scratch.
Have any of you experienced this? What was the reason? Was it creative changes, studio notes, test screenings, or something else?

Rewatching Troy before The Odyssey comes out and this shot really caught my eye

How the hell did this pull this off in 2004? I don't think there's a ton of VFX in this but I could be really wrong. Seems like it really is one, continuous shot, with no clever switch or stitching or anything. Did they simply use the smoothest cherry picker in the world? Or is this hanging from a crane or something?

Hey there everyone,

I've recently been doing some experimenting with a cloud tank for a micro budget sci-fi feature film that I'm putting together, and wanted to throw together a little short of my favourite shots thus far.

As for the setup in this video, I used a 20 gallon fish tank with salt water in the bottom half and clean water in the top half. Once that's setup I then inject various types of liquids into the tank via a syringe. Combinations include watered down condensed milk or liquid latex mixed with ammonia. These are the results of three sessions worth of experimenting, placing two LED lights of both the left and right side of the tank for some two tone colour palettes. All shots used a 24-105mm F/4 L series Canon lens on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K Pro camera. I scored the piece in Ableton Live primarily using Serum 2 and field recordings from NASA.

I faintly remember watching a VFX Artist React episode earlier this year in which the guys reviewed a clip where each frame/each second had its own, uniquely created background/enviornment. I think it may have been space related, with the enviornments being different galaxy-type backgrounds. Anyone know what I'm referencing and can point me to the episode?

We finally canceled our subscription because we couldn't watch the extended vids on our tv. Any idea if it's working yet?

I absolutely love videos corridor crew has been making considering technological, cg advancements like recent stuff from Jurassic Park etc. that including interviews with notable figured with people involved with that period of cinema. I was wondering does anyone know any more cool resources, maybe books and such to dive deeper into subject? I'm not sure about genre, but that could include biographies and some kind of in depth behind the scenes looks

Its got the two biggest tell tale signs of VFX- the shakey camera and the blur on the zoom. Am I tripping or is this also another homemade VFX shot?
