"silence challenges" have been a cool trend amongst artists that go on tour-- popular ones being olivia rodrigo, beyonce, and recently ariana grande. it's a cute challenge and it's honestly a fun test of coordination in the audience. i recently went to one of ariana's concerts in ny and my night failed during 'we can't be friends', which is when she does this challenge for the audience. it was going great and then people started screaming within five seconds. like, you were doing great in the beginning, girl!
maybe this is a bratty take from me, but if you can't stay silent for less than ten seconds for your favorite artist.. we've gotta talk. i'm not saying you need to shut up for the entire concert. ariana has a separate segment of her concert where she live loops one of her songs from scratch and asks for silence in the audience and it works every single time. it goes on for like two minutes. if we can be quiet for that we can be quiet for this! i've seen clips from other dates where ariana's like basically begging for the audience to be quiet for it by physically gesturing for silence, and then looking a little disappointed when the audience fails.
is this too hot of a take? am i the problem? be brutally honest w me.
