i'm sorry but i literally cannot sit there and watch a tpp pro match for more than 20 minutes, trust me i tried. it's just frustrating to see actions and fights that never happen because players choose to just observe and camp everything under cover, i just can't help but imagine how certain fights could've played out if it was FPP, but i know for a fact that it will be more entertaining to watch.
i don't get why they deemed it necessary to move from FPP to TPP format when most of the players still switch to FPP when doing crucial actions such as throwing utilities and firefighting, like it's main use is to literally "scout" for information without any risk of being spotted or killed, which i believe makes the viewing experience significantly more boring.
and also in terms of macro, getting information shouldn't be risk free, information is the main thing in pubg esports so why are you allowed to get it without any risk?
yes, i sound salty, because i am. i used to enjoy watching competitive PUBG, it used to be so exciting to watch and i hate to see great esports be reduced to something like this for some little increase in revenue.

Hey guys! Official PUBG caster MarkPower and Team Nemesis coach mclay sat down to rank every team at EWC 2026. Wondering if you agree with it!
r/CompetitivePUBG • u/Juris_B • 1d ago
Also so far the whole production seems really good. And man, the absolute talent of Toffess to make analytics desk so interesting. Also want to mention Avnqr casting - I really love that in early games when nothing is happening he is talking about team positions, instead of what he had at breakfast.

Hey everyone,
With the Esports World Cup 2026 kicking off in Paris, Hardshift is happy to be back with our second Fantasy League for the tournament over at fantasy.hardshift.gg
🏆 The Prize
⚙️ How It Works
📊 Scoring System
📅 Tournament Structure Group Stage (July 21–23): Each day is its own individual fantasy session. You’ll build your squad using only the players active on that day:
Note: Rosters lock 5 minutes after Game 1 begins each day. Player salaries may adjust based on performance between days, but if you hold a player, you keep the original price you paid.
Grand Finals: The top 16 qualifying teams will form the player pool. You’ll rebuild your squad for the Finals with the same format (6 games/day).
📈 Leaderboard Points accumulate across both the Group Stage and Grand Finals to determine the overall top manager.
Please note, this is our second Fantasy League—we are treating this as a wider pilot and plan to run these for major events going forward.
We also have Leaderboards, Map POI Viewers, and Streamer Reactions (in Beta) over at www.hardshift.gg and are always open to community feedback!

Original Post (pubgesports.com)
Hello, PUBG Esports fans!
After two circuits in Seoul, the PUBG Global Series is moving to Shanghai, China. PGS Circuit 3, featuring PGS 7, PGS 8, and PGS 9, will take place across three weeks from August 5 to 23.
Circuit 3 also marks the beginning of the second half of the 2026 PGS season—and from this point forward, the numbers change. Every series in Circuits 3 and 4 will award twice as many PGS Points as the first half of the season. With the race to PGC 2026 entering a decisive phase, here is everything you need to know about the next three weeks in Shanghai.

All matches except the PGS 7 Group Stage begin at 10:00 UTC (12:00 CEST / 17:00 ICT / 03:00 PDT).
The PGS 7 Group Stage begins at 05:00 UTC on August 5 (07:00 CEST / 12:00 ICT / 22:00 PDT on August 4).
| Series | Date | Stage | Start Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| PGS 7 | August 5 | Group Stage | 05:00 UTC |
| August 6 | Winners Stage | 10:00 UTC | |
| August 7 | Survival Stage | 10:00 UTC | |
| August 8–9 | Final Stage | 10:00 UTC | |

| PGS 9 | August 20 | Survival Stage | 10:00 UTC |
| August 21–23 | Grand Finals | 10:00 UTC |
Circuit 3 follows a progressive stage system, with the results of each series determining how teams enter the next.
PGS 8 does not include a Group Stage. Teams are seeded directly according to their final PGS 7 standings.
Seeding for PGS 9 is determined by the PGS Points earned within Circuit 3 across PGS 7 and PGS 8.
The top eight teams in the PGS 7 and PGS 8 Winners Stages receive Advantage Points, which are added to their standings at the start of the respective Final Stage.
| Winners Stage Placement | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th | 6th | 7th | 8th |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Advantage Points | 10 | 6 | 5 | 4 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 1 |

Circuit 3 brings together 12 Global Partner Teams and 12 teams that qualified through their regional leagues.

For the teams that built an advantage in the first half, Shanghai is where they must defend it. For those chasing from behind, the doubled points create an opportunity to turn the standings around. One strong circuit could reshape the entire PGC race.
Circuit 3 will be played across Erangel, Miramar, Taego, and Rondo.
| Stage | Match 1 | Match 2 | Match 3 | Match 4 | Match 5 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Group Stage | Erangel | Miramar | Taego | — | — |
| Winners / Survival / Final Day 1 / Grand Finals Days 1 & 3 | Erangel | Miramar | Taego | Rondo | Erangel |
| Final Day 2 / Grand Finals Day 2 | Taego | Erangel | Rondo | Miramar | Taego |
The Group Stage repeats the same Erangel → Miramar → Taego order across all three group matchups for Matches 1 through 9.
The total prize pool for Circuit 3 is $500,000, distributed across the three series.
Placement prizes will be awarded to the top eight teams in PGS 7 and PGS 8, and to all 16 Grand Finalists in PGS 9. Each series also features separate match-win and MVP prizes.
Across four circuits and 12 series, the total prize pool for the 2026 PGS season is $2,000,000.
All PGS 7–9 matches will be broadcast live on official PUBG Esports channels.
Matches begin at 10:00 UTC daily, except for the PGS 7 Group Stage on August 5, which begins at 05:00 UTC.
Detailed broadcast channels and viewing links will be announced separately.
A new city, double the points, and 24 teams fighting for their place at PGC 2026. Circuit 3 will set the direction for the second half of the 2026 season.
See you in Shanghai on August 5!

Posting here and not in main pubg subreddit because I figured I'll get more educated answers.
I started playing in 2017/18, when I saw a coworker watch Shroud play. I was instantly hooked by the concept, genre, gun mechanics, learning curve... etc. I left the game in 2022 having played T3/T2 tournies in OCE. By then OCE servers were dead, I had to exitlag to SEA for ranked and give up 80-100 ping.
After many 0 kill games, I finally got my first chicken dinner, I can honestly say, with the exception of Rust, no other games gave me the highs I got from PUBG. I loved this game so much, I would fish for secret mechanics, optimal loadouts, learn weapon damage, study zones, learn spray paterns, dmr tempos, bullet drop from different altitudes. I would watch wackyjacky and others to pickup on micro details... list goes on.
Right click the first item then drag the rest for picking up items faster, crouch then prone to get to prone faster, korean peeks, peeker advatnage... heaps of other forgotten stuff. The point is, this game was so impressive and worthwhile for me that I spent over 8k hours in it, and dedicated my self getting better day by day.
Now in hindsight, when I try to pick out what made people hate on it and leave it, I can't think of much, granted I've been out of the scene for a good 4 years. I know we had bugs, server issues sometimes, cheaters. Perhaps skill gap was the biggest. But I don't remember these issues being so egregious.
Do you still play? and what do you attribute the downfall of the game to?

PEC: Fall and PAS2 will once again follow the familiar tournament structure used earlier this year, featuring five weeks of Scrims and Cups before the competition concludes with two sets of Playoffs and Finals. Check out the full schedule below and make sure to mark the key dates in your calendar.

PEC: Fall/PAS2 begins with five weeks of Scrims and Cups. Each week starts with three days of elimination-style Scrims, where teams battle to secure one of 16 places in the weekly Cup.
Every Saturday, those 16 teams compete in a best-of-five Cup, earning valuable points on the overall leaderboard. At the end of the five-week circuit, the top 18 teams on the overall Cups leaderboard advance to the Playoffs. In addition, the winners of Cup 4 and Cup 5 automatically qualify for the Playoffs.

The Playoffs feature 16 teams per day and bring together the top teams from the Cups with eight invited partner teams. Teams are seeded into different Playoff days based on their overall Cups leaderboard position.
On Day 1, the top eight teams advance directly to the Finals. The remaining teams carry over to Day 2, where they're joined by the next eight teams from the Cups leaderboard. Five more teams qualify for the Finals before the remaining teams advance to Day 3, where the final three Finals spots are decided.

Just like PEC: Spring/PAS1, Playoffs and Finals will take place twice. Following the first Finals weekend, the same teams will return for a second Playoffs stage and another opportunity to qualify for the Finals.
Across both Finals weekends, teams will battle for regional glory, and valuable PGC Points in the race toward the PUBG Global Championship 2026.
The regional series offers teams the opportunity to earn PGC Points, bringing them one step closer to qualifying for the PUBG Global Championship 2026. Below you will find how the race currently stands in EMEA and the Americas.

Take a look at the PGC Points up for grabs during PEC: Fall and PAS2 below.

I posted previously about the organizer app I created for Discord and now alongside that created a player / coach tool that runs inside of the bot that is similar to pubg.sh and other 2D Telemetry apps online. The primary difference between those tools and this here is that it runs entirely through Discord's Activity Center. You are able to view both Live Server and Esports Server matches as soon as those games are over. You can host it and your friends/team can join and view the matches you are looking at while also being able to draw on the replay you are viewing. It comes with drawing tools, player stats for the match, a full kill-feed, a ruler, rotation lines, and a full legend key-guide. It has support for Vehicle Types, Blue Chip Revives, Redzones, Recall Planes, and so on
If you have any issues, please feel free to message me on Discord or use the bug report icon in the top right next to the client selector.

7k hours, watched every ESport event and many pros stream on a regular basis. Once the change to TPP happened I just didn't want to play anymore. I think I saw it as an indication of the start of completely phasing out FPP from the game and didn't want to stick around to see it happen.
