Dear (presumed) resident of Norris Drive,
We have a lot of road closures and construction on and around Cooke Road between Maize and Cleveland Avenue right now. It’s gonna be a long few months. Many people are having to detour around this road work to get to work, and to home, and wherever else they may be going. I get that it’s frustrating and an inconvenience but these improvements are going to be such a positive impact to the infrastructure in North Linden. In a way, it plays an active part in upgrading connectors to star projects like the Linden Green Line.
Because of these (net positive) projects, a lot of people are having their standard avenues of travel changed and that means we have to use adjacent streets to get around. I myself am near Dresden and have seen an increase in traffic due to detouring on my street (and people are flying, hey we have kids playing here).
I do not know who you are, but some resident continues to put “construction” barricades blocking incoming traffic and indicating the road is “closed” at both the east and west ends of Norris Drive. There is no work on Norris Drive. We all are having to shift our lives around, increase our commutes, and generally have our lives disrupted for a time. You don’t get to decide that your public street is spared from this. I recognize your street culture and community is typically nice and quiet but you cannot simply push aside your larger neighborhood for your own convenience. We all are in this with each other right now. It’s sucks that people aren’t going 25 down your street, but putting up fake construction barricades is both a safety issue and a selfish move.
Kindly, a neighbor who just just wants to get home.
