its just a dime but hey, im happy! is it 40% silver?

I've found 9 silver dimes this year, all on separate occasions.

Is this common? Still no quarters or halves yet.

Went to my local store, and there was a person dumping stuff into the machine! Usually I wouldn't bother them, but I saw a Walking Liberty half in their jar! After offering cash for what came out of the return tray, I picked *all* of this out! $860+ in silver alone, plus a bunch of world coins(including a Nazi coin!)

Just wanted to share because I was dumbfounded, to say the least

tell me how this family was dumping very old coinage into the coin machine when it finally jammed (my chance to go over and be nosy) i went over to fix the jam i noticed all the wheaties and asked if he collected or what tbh idk how he acquired all the coins cause im not sure a collector would do this but long story short this is all i could save
ps. there was a war nickel in there and an indian head

My 8 year old grandson found some silver Kennedy halves and silver quarters in a Coinstar a few months ago, netting him like $25 at the coin store, pretty nice! He's been after a score since, and just found a spendable 40 cents; still excited, and says he's starting a coin jar in his room for his finds!

For context i’ve told my family members to check the coin star reject bin for years at this point. Today was finally the day I got the text. My sister found this in the coin star bin in Maine and she thought it was just an old foreign coin. Nope! Large cent.

I can’t get a year off of it unfortunately but atleast it was identifiable. Always check the reject bins people!

First silver find...usually just damaged junk. Super pumped...I almost just passed it by!

Put it in a flip because holy moly it looks insane. I am gonna get it checked at my LCS tomorrow to see if real. Super dense for its tiny size

Just checked my store's CoinStar machine this morning and found this WW2-era German coin! I can't believe this ended up in someone's coin jar.

My son found 19 steel pennies and 10 regular wheat pennies! He was excited!

Sold my old phone at the eco ATM. Coinstar was right next to it, so I had to check. Here's what I found.

Free silver! A dirty ‘64 and a nice crispy ‘52. That ‘52 must have come outta someone’s collection, it’s in pretty good condition.

I also found a teeny tiny gold earring marked 14k.

Local Walmart in Iowa. No silver, one wheat, three pre-1982 penny’s that I collect because I’m a copper nerd. Some in really bad shape and a couple stuck together. Total around $1.50 but worth it alone for the wheatie.
