🎮 Playtest ends: July 26

We’re developing a co-op driving game with a strict asymmetric twist: Player 1 controls ONLY the gas/brake, and Player 2 controls ONLY the steering.  No one has full control of the car.

Right now, the gameplay loop feels flat. It’s basically just two people trying to coordinate a simple drive, but without any real stakes or engagement beyond "don't crash." When we playtest, players master the basic coordination quickly, and then it just becomes a mundane exercise in patience rather than a fun, chaotic experience. It feels like a tech demo rather than a game.

We know the core hook is the communication breakdown (similar to Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes or Drive Together), but we need to layer more gameplay on top of it.

We have brainstormed a few ideas that could add a flair of chaos:

• Information Asymmetry: One of the player can see the road ahead clearly whilst the other player is driving blind and can only maybe sense the danger through a danger senser/marker.
• Dynamic Obstacles: Obstacles that suddenly appear when the players have their guard down, could give a rage game feel, but force the players to make a split second decision to avoid the obstacle.

Me and my best friend in another state really miss hanging out since he moved so we try to play lots of games together online because we always used to just play games together or watch each other play games while hanging out like 3-5 days out of the week. We loved playing Hazelight Studios games like it takes two, a way out, and plan to play split fiction, loved the concept and play style of subnautica 1,2, and subzero and we just got done having a ton of fun playing the backrooms game together. The biggest problem is neither of us has a PC so it makes it way harder to find good co op that is our style. It’s not that we hate fighting and shooter games we just don’t like playing online games like Fortnite, CoD, Rainbow, etc and we have also tried stuff like 7 days to die but they don’t quite have the depth of story integration and puzzle solving for us to really start having fun plus it just seems unrewarding to us. We also aren’t usually intrigued by platform or 2d games quite as much but, we did love playing all of the little nightmares games plus the new reanimal one so we might try them if they seem super cool. Probably one of the biggest things we like is being able to find secrets and collectibles to get secret endings or achievements. Cool creepy or horror type games are completely on the line as well. Is there any other 1st or 3rd person games you guys know of that we could play? If there are ones with multiple games that take a long time to beat that’d be awesome because we will go at it hard. It all started with a simple question: What if your voice wasn't just for talking to your teammates, but an actual gameplay mechanic? Over time, that idea evolved into a full-fledged magic system.

Now players explore whimsical worlds, collect loot, battle monsters, and occasionally mess with each other using spells. Sometimes on purpose. Sometimes by accident.

The best part of playtesting has been watching players come up with hilarious ways to use spells that we never even considered.

Hello community! I'm Antonio, developer of Penguin Armada (a little new Spanish studio!), we are currently developing Raiders Rise

Raiders Rise is a Co-op & Competitive (PvPvE) Bullet Heaven Roguelite [Yeah, I know we have a really long definition of what our game is]

Co-Op part is because you can cooperate with the enemy to clear some stages, but also betray them when needed

I'm posting because we are struggling to get players, in my opinion the game looks super polished but we dont know if there is a target audience or atleast we cannot find them

The game is a 3v3 multiplayer online multi stage arena and goes this way:

1.- Play with your friends or solo
2.- In each stage (5 in total) you have to gather resources
3.- Inbetween stages you buy upgrades (kind of roguelite upgrades, 3-card choice, you can reroll etc..)
4.- In last stage, you fight with the enemy team for resources

Does the gameplay trailer say you something? Does it spark some interest in playing it? (by the way you already can play the demo on steam)

Hey guys,

I really want to start a Divinity 2 campaign with my girlfriend, but I’m a bit worried we might crash and burn here, so I wanted to see if anyone has been through something similar.

To give you some context, she is new to gaming. She actually finished Elden Ring as her first big RPG, with me guiding her throught the most complex stuff like build crafting and progression. After that, we tried Baldur's Gate 3, but it completely overwhelmed her. She found all the mechanics and systems way too complex, got discouraged really fast, and we barely gave it a chance.

Now, I know Divinity 2 is also a massive, deep RPG. It was my first Larian game and I felt like it was more simplified than BG3, but I'm afraid she’ll look at the inventory management and the tactical combat and just instantly check out again.

Has anyone here played DOS2 with a partner who is a total beginner? Did the combat or the overall pacing feel any easier for them to grasp than BG3, or are we just setting ourselves up for another failed attempt? Or maybe we should try BG3 again?

Also, if you have any tips on how to make the game less intimidating for her (like specific modes, builds, or settings), I’d love to hear them.

Does anyone here still play Crackdown 3 Co-op? I'm now looking for a few players for a co-op achievement hunting run.

Hi! My family and I love our co-op gaming nights, and all have a Steamdeck each. (We also have Switch 2s, but we'd rather buy our games on Steam if possible, as we only use the Switch 2 for exclusives).

We're going on our first cruise in a week and would like to still get some family gaming in together on our 'days at sea', possibly chilling in the coffee bar looking out over the ocean. 😍

The only issue is, there's no wifi out on the ocean, and the suggested package is way too expensive (£300 for the week!). Could anyone suggest any 3-player games we could play as a family?

The only one I've found so far is Stardew Valley, which lets you join each other by sharing IP addresses. Every other LAN game I've found needs to connect to the Internet to access Steam in order to run, which isn't ideal.
