I just finished reading Vol 5 of The Collected Fantasies by Clark Ashton Smith. I had other books to read and it took about 16 months to finish all his short stories. In the end, his last few stories were pretty bad. But the overwhelming bulk of the stories were good. The diction was diverse, the prose purple, the cadence King James Version in places. I will be revisiting my notes for inspiration.

I went to the site today to take a look at the abominations of yondo, but found that every link to the site took me to the Hippocampus Press site. Does anyone know what the issue is?

Does this 5 volume series contain the complete Averoigne, Hyperborea, and Mars cycles?

The book descriptions read CAS's complete works are contained in their published order so I surmise they are arranged chronologically by publication rather than grouped by content.

Can anyone confirm or contradict this through owning or reading these specific volumes? I'd like to know the exact contents prior to ordering them online.

So I'm pretty new to CAS's mythos, but I'm starting to pick up on continuity nods within and between the different cycles.

In The Dark Eidolon, there's a passage where it's described that Namirrha has enthralled the ancient mummified kings of Tasuun as his servants.

In The Weaver of the Vault, the three graverobbers descend into the catacombs where the kings of Tasuun were buried, only to discover that the mummies were all missing, having been absorbed by the weird glowing orb.

So my thought is that Namirrha sent the Weaver to enslave the mummified kings. Is this plausible?

Call of Cthulhu the RPG has gotten very popular in Japan in the last few years so presumably it's via that, but interesting. That makes the second hentai game I know of to reference CAS's work, the first about his elk goddess. Somehow this is even weirder.
