Recently got a 2026 Civic Hatchback Hybrid. It drives great!
Looking over the undercarriage, is it normal to find exposed unpainted segments like this (second photo, circled in green)? Wonder if it's a concern for corrosion during winter up in the US Midwest.

I want black emblems, I replaced my front one and put a black one. However, for my rear emblem I just want an overlay to put over the chrome.
I have been searching all over & i cannot seem to be able to find one.
I would appreciate it if someone could comment a link or a how to tutorial on removing a chrome emblem off of a 2025 civic hatch. The front was easy but the rear was difficult so I gave up, i didnt want to ruin my car which is why im looking for a overlay!
Thank you

I have a 2017 civic exl and recently I noticed my Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) had disabled itself and would display “ACC OFF” with two beeps.
In order to fix this, I tried resetting the battery by disconnecting both terminals (- first then +) and reconnecting them in the right order.
The ACC problem was fixed but now the followings are not working:
1. Remote start using key fob
2. Remote window roll down using key fob
3. Driver side power window won’t respond whatsoever. (Not the auto roll, but it won’t roll at all)
4. The lock/unlock button on the driver side door arm rest
Everything else is working, like the mirror adjustment buttons, other windows, key fob lock/unlock.
I checked all the fuses and none seemed to have blown.
Any help or insights would be helpful thank you!

I have a gen 8 2008 honda civic hatchback 1.8l petrol.
While driving, my digital instrument cluster randomly lights up all segments and shows 888, just like in the picture. When this happens i can’t see my actual speed anymore. I’ve already resoldered the board, so I’m pretty sure it’s not caused by cold solder joints. The strange thing is that if I tap the instrument cluster or dashboard with my hand it starts working normally again, but only for a short time. I’ve also noticed that the problem seems to happen more often when it’s colder outside.
Has anyone experienced this or know what could be causing it? Could it be a faulty display, ribbon cable, connector, or something else?
Thanks!

I purchased these ESR rims off of Facebook marketplace yesterday. I didn’t really think the purchase out before getting them anyways now I need to know what type of lugs will fit and or any recommendations I have a 2026 Civic SI that I plan on putting these on.

It’s been an actual nightmare trying to find seat covers that fit my backseat. (Split bench, headrests don’t detach, short in length b/c coupe). It really seems like the only options are a cheap stretchy mesh cover or paying a ton of money for customs. ****I have 2 huskies & the entire inside is cloth so it’s basically always full of fur stuck/woven into the fabrics of other materials. I want LEATHER or similar. My dog hammock does nothing to contain the fur, and vacuuming it after just 1 car ride takes eons. I just spent $170 on a front/back set from Amazon that look promising, they’ll arrive tomorrow; but theres nothing even similar to that if they don’t end up fitting which is likely. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING FOR YOUR BACKSEAT AND/OR PET HAIR? Please help lol

Hi all! Brought home a 2016 Civic yesterday. The key fob battery was dead and I did change the battery, but it’s still giving me some trouble.
The lock button will not depress. There’s nothing obstructing the button on or inside of the shell; the button on the circuit board will not depress at all.
The unlock button will depress but… doesn’t seem to actually unlock the car? It clicks and everything but the car does not unlock when I hit it. Furthermore, when I try to press the button, it seems to make the car lock instead of unlock? It actually causes the car to repeatedly attempt to lock, presumably due to the lock button being stuck? The car keeps honking for about 10 seconds after I fuss with it, about 2-4 times before it quits.
Any advice for what I can do? I was looking forward to having a car with a working keyfob again, lmao

I drive a 2021 type r and i genuinely enjoy every excuse to take it out. after running a few errands today i noticed my front lip was detached on one side. i have no clue exactly when it happened which somehow makes it even more annoying. i keep wondering if it was one of those sneaky driveway entrances that got me. luckily i caught it before it completely came off on the road. now i cannot stop looking at the front of the car every time i park. i know this is probably a pretty common issue but it is my first time dealing with it. for anyone who has had a detached front lip before what ended up being your fix. is it usually something you can reattach or is replacement the safer option. thanks for any advice you can share

With the recent Head Gasket recall on Accord and CRV hybrids, along with lots of reports of head gasket failures between 40-80,000 miles, I’m curious - has anyone put a ton of miles on their Civic Hybrid yet?
I assume most of us are 20k or under still. Who has put the most miles on, and did you experience any mechanical issues?

i came out to my car after not driving it for a week to this. has this happened to anyone else? research told me it could be a stress fracture?
Hi guys,
Unbeknownst to me, I have managed to scratch the front lip of my 17' sport hatch. It must have been a bit rough, because it had detached itself in a few places. Fortunately, the lip is not damaged, there are no cracks nor broken pieces.
However, I am absolutely clueless as to how to get it back in place. I just need to loosen it a bit, so I can get it back into the front attachment points.
There are several screws and plastic clips underneath. Does anybody have any idea which screws or clips hold the lip to the front bumper? I could not find any video or schematics.
It is all original, no modifications at all.
Thank you.

Hey so the backstory will make this decision of mine make much more sense. Im what most would consider a girly girl, however i have a couple of [socially determined] typical male interests. Two being football and cars. Idk they interest me and i enjoy them. Anyway, I know a fair amount about cars, but not like a fanatic... I can change my own tires, i know what the lights mean, etc... But would love to do what i can to keep this car on the road as long as I can. I was laid off. Been doing gig work since. Doing amazon flex since January. Had a 2009 Honda Fit at the time. Bought her for 8k, 114miles, never had an issue out of it except the tpms light. A deer totaled that. Anyway, no car= no money made. Needed to get into something quick. So i did a few rentals from march-july (ford fiesta, nissan versa, tesla model 3 (right when gas prices went up. I was lucky) honda accord) as u can imagine, cutting way too deep into my profit after bills at 50-60/day. Ended the rental cycle. Used my parents 2000 ford expedition for 2 weeks to pay rent and save to get a get around to flex in (265k miles mostly highway, a few things dont work like blinkers, unlocking the trunk from inside, but other than that, that v8 cranks up great...my parents did well with maintence) just bought a 2012 honda civic coupe on fb marketplace for 4k. It was a couple. Once i spoke with the lady and her husband about my situation, they agreed to let me pay some upfront and some later..wrote a contract up went to the dmv with me, process was smooth as can be. Gave me maintwnce paperwork, new battery and brakes. She bought it new, they had twins and had to upsize now that theyre almost 7. Ok about the car- shes not the prettiest, but she sounds good, 150k miles. 5 speed manual. Aftermarket bumper and radio and rear camera. Only one rip on side drivers side seat. Tpms light on only. Air and heat both work great. Few dings, but no major dents. The paint of course is worn in certain spots on roof and sides of trunk and hood but she said she missed the window of the top coat thingy. (It rained today, and she looked less ashy) my plan is to use it for flexing till i can hopefully find another job in corporate using my degree. But id also like to keep her, she is my bread and butter now and will be paid for in a few months. I had a friend with 350 miles on her honda, i know it can last...i figure no transmission to worry about increases my chances even more.... Any tips or recs to getting the most life out of her would be appreciated. Would love to have her as long as my parents have had their truck. Ive always liked the accord coupe, so she feels lile her lil sis to me. I also miss driving stick, i forgot how fun it is. Lastly, literally the night i got it, someone parked in my spot and the tow company took too long so i parked on the street and someone knocked my mirror off. Holding on only by the cables. Ive taped it with gorrila tape, the sun did a number on that in 2 days and now its on with flex tape, any suggestions till i can get it fully fixed? May need some type of putty because the base and mirror have seperated as well. Extra- These are the other cars ive owned just in case anyone wants to point out any similarities or commonalities.

2013 Honda Civic LX, 1.8L automatic. Video attached — you can hear a small lag/sound right at the start of hard acceleration. Besides that, car vibrates a little at idle in Park, and twice now it's briefly lost power while pulling away from a stop light (engine stayed running, radio didn't cut, just no power to the wheels for a second before it caught back up). Already done: air/cabin filters. Spark plugs are ordered but not installed yet, and oil change is due — doing both tomorrow. Trans fluid was changed about 5-6 months ago, and the jerking/power loss seems to have started around then. Thinking it could be motor mounts for the vibration, and something transmission-related (fluid level, torque converter shudder?) for the lag/power cut — but not sure if they're connected or separate issues. Anyone dealt with something similar or can tell what's going on from the video? Trying to figure out what to ask a mechanic to check before I take it in. Thanks!
