For sale: 2007 GTI (108k miles) in the north side of Chicago. This is the 3 door model in "tornado red". Mechanically well-cared for, cosmetically imperfect. Would love to see it go to a new home. Excellent option for a young enthusiast's first car since there's a tutorial for just about any issue that comes up. Adult owned with full service record.

• The Good:
  • New tires in early 2026 (Continental Extreme Contact)
  • New high pressure fuel pump
  • New cam follower and stud kit (never had an issue but preventative maintained for FSI turbo)
  • New OEM valve cover gasket/seals
  • New PCV valve 
  • Platinum spark plugs and OEM heat range
  • Replaced one loose caliper assembly
  • Headliner professionally replaced
  • Timing belt/chain has been replaced as preventative maintenance.
  • Coolant temp sensor replaced
  • Fully stock and adult owned. Only modification is android auto/car play. Will include original head unit.
• The Bad:
  • Driver side HID ballast might need replacement (you can find these ballasts online as well as easy tutorials for replacing them yourself)
  • Airbag wiring harness under drivers seat sets off the airbag light needs to be hardwired by the well-motivated. Not a safety issue, but a well-known issue for this generation GTI.
• The Ugly:
  • Rust near passenger side rocker panel, can be sanded, treated with POR15, primed/painted by the well-motivated
  • Scrape damage near driver side rocker panel
• Bonus: Includes a new mk5 car cover Asking $4800 but happy to consider offers.
