Referrals Monthly Referral Thread - July 2026

Please post your referrals here and nowhere else on the r/ChaseSapphire subreddit. Please read carefully the instructions below.

Comments below are presented in random order. These posts will be locked and unpinned monthly. To maintain order, these referral instructions will be strictly enforced; see r/ChaseSapphire Rules 3 and 4.

The referral thread instructions are as follows:

  1. You must have an unpublished amount of positive karma on the r/ChaseSapphire subreddit to be eligible to post a referral link; Reddit-wide karma and karma earned from other subreddits do not count for this purpose. The intention of this instruction is to ensure that regular r/ChaseSapphire members are preferenced for referral post eligibility relative to those who may visit r/ChaseSapphire solely to post a referral link. If you do not have enough r/ChaseSapphire karma, your submission will be automatically removed by the automoderator.
  2. Post exactly one comment per monthly referral thread. Multiple comments will be systematically removed.
  3. List the name of the given product(s) followed by the referral link.
  4. Do not offer direct compensation for referrals. Any offer to “split” the referral bonus that Chase gives to the referrer is not allowed. Similarly, do not offer compensation in forms other than currency, such as favors, gift cards, awards, Reddit Premium, NFTs, etc.
  5. Do not deceive anyone. Lying or misleading anyone about any of the referral terms is prohibited.
  6. Do not attempt to attract any unfair attention. List ONLY the name of the product(s) followed by the referral link for that/those product(s).
  7. Comments not related to referrals for Chase card products offered in the United States are not allowed in this thread and will be treated as spam.

Note that:

  1. Effective 7 October 2025, Chase Business referral terms are changing such that a referrer will be eligible for a referral bonus only for referring new Chase Business card customers. Beginning on 7 October 2025, referrals of individuals with existing Chase Business card accounts will no longer qualify for the referral bonus for the referrer.
  2. Authorized user accounts (for consumer products) and employee card accounts (for business products) do not impact referral eligibility.

Rewards Strategy This is where CSR and Point Boost shines!

I just purchased a complicated open-jaw itinerary (in business class) without searching for award spaces etc. Getting 2 cpp is so great when you can earn them at 4X-8X rate!

Edit: The booking is for business class. I meant to write ‘premium cabin’, not ‘premium class’ in the original post.

Bought the $25 off $100 gift card for DoorDash a few weeks ago, then did the $40 off $100 with Sephora right now.
Applied the whole amount of the gift card and tipped more on the sapphire so some charges showed up. Thanks you guys

  • Not valid for pickup orders
  • Must have an active DashPass
  • Max redemption limit of 162,500
  • Valid at participating locations of Sephora on DoorDash

Product Benefits Price Match Approved

Post image
10 Upvotes

I’ve been seeing price matches approved because Chase made an exception. I guess the exception for me was the cancellation dates? On chase it stated I have free cancellation UNTIL 8/20 on the third party site it stated BEFORE 8/19. Everything else was the same. Nevertheless, I’m happy it was approved :). May not get lucky next time.

Product Benefits Still got the Dining Credit even after the restaurant was removed from the Opentable list

Last weekend I went to Coasterra in San Diego for a nice dinner. I saw a few weeks prior it got taken off the Opentable list along with a few other restaurants but I still went since I still wanted to. Checked my transactions the other day and the Dining Credit still went through. I guess there might be a grace period. It’s still the same month from when it was present to removed from the list. Food was great. Service was a war crime.

Rewards Strategy Asian Disney Parks Datapoint

I just got back from a trip to all of the Asian Disney parks - Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

What I found was that all charges made in Tokyo Disney Resort (Disneyland and DisneySea) on my Sapphire Reserve card coded 4x hotels. That includes all restaurants in the parks and at the hotels, the quick service locations, food and drink carts found in the parks, merchandise locations. I had split my payments with my C1VX to hedge my bets but now I’m kicking myself.

However, all transactions I made through Alipay at Shanghai Disney did not code as Hotels or restaurants. They only returned with 1x points.

HKDL was true to location. Restaurants came up as restaurants, etc.

Edit - Original version didn’t distinguish between Hong Kong and Tokyo Disney Resort.

Datapoint DP: got CSP SUB after previously holding both CSP & CSR

posting in case anyone is interested.

I was just approved for the CSP and the 100k SUB. I have held both the CSP and CSR since like 2016, don't remember exactly when. Downgraded the CSP to freedom 2 months ago. I saw that there was the 100k offer on the CSP yesterday so I thought I'd just apply to see if I get the popup or not, I didn't get it so went through with the application. It was pending so I called them and they wanted me to complete identity verification and it got approved immediately after. SUB tracker showed up the next day in the app.

Rewards Strategy Point Accumulation

After hitting the sub it seems like 100,000 points a year is about average or maybe I am wrong.

Do people usually keep the card after sub? I’m unsure if I will because I’m not seeing a clear path manipulate natural spend into meaningful points.

I suppose the travel bookings would help but the 5x is for the portal only which isn’t that bad I guess

I’m just curious what others are doing to keep the points flowing. Amex points are easy to rack up with Rakuten what’s the Chase method?

Datapoint A bit of an odd one but topping up pearls for the Tomorrowland music festival counts as 3x towards dining

Pearls are used for food and drink, but I’m impressed that the system caught that and coded them that way. I was expecting 1x and it to just code as a normal purchase.

Product Benefits Chase Edit Hotel Stay Review: St Regis San Francisco

My family (wife and two young kids) decided to have a staycation at the St Regis SF for my wife's birthday this past weekend. We were between the St Regis and Palace Hotel, both offering different pros/cons. The St Regis was considerably more expensive at ~800 per night after taxes and fees where the Palace Hotel was closer to 475/night. What ultimately swayed us were:

* this review that kept popping up during google searches - https://worldtraveladventurers.com/where-to-stay-in-san-francisco-with-kids-st-regis-san-francisco-review/ (which unfortunately was very misleading)
* online mentions of how family friendly the St Regis can be
* similarly, how much you hear about their legendary "Butler" service in online reviews.

Overall I thought our stay was good but not worth the price and/or price difference against the Palace Hotel. Here is what we liked and didn't like about our stay:

Stuff we liked:
* I found the hotel location to be just right. Close to Yerba Buena gardens/Moscone area for things you could walk to, and not near Market St. where there was too much street/pedestrian traffic
* Room cleaning service and staff were amazing.
* Pool was great and open 24/7. Great for night swims to end the day.
* We used our breakfast and property credit to have breakfast on both mornings we were there. The food was EXCELLENT.
* The room was immaculate. Spacious, gorgeous design, nice view.

Stuff we didn't like:
* Concierge was useless
* Front desk was not friendly. Forget any upgrades or any early check-in/late check-out.
* If you're booking through Edit, unless you're booking a suite (you're likely not), you're not getting the Butler service. Feels a bit misleading.
* The hotel gives free museum and cable car tickets to "regular" guests b/c their reservation included a $45/night destination fee. This same courtesy was not extended to us. Feels VERY nickle and dimey.

I really wanted to like the hotel, especially given how friendly most of the staff was (except probably the ones that should have been the most friendly), but unfortunately at this price point, I can't justify staying here nor recommending it to anyone else.

Rewards Strategy Points honeymoon March 2027

Hi all, getting married end of February and we’re looking to do a mostly points honeymoon sometime in March. We’ve got about 145,000 chase points and 150,000 capital one points.

We’d love an all inclusive, tropical, GREAT FOOD, maybe some activities near or on site (pickleball, golf, kayaking), and would consider upgrading to a swim up room.

Nice to haves, but not needed: lazy river, swim up bar, beach volleyball, and beach and pool options.

Looking for recommendations on best way to maximize points, and resort recommendations! We’ve had quite a few friends recommend Jamaica before so that is higher on our list but open to anything.

Just wanted to share this datapoint for using InKind to pay at eligible Opentable restaurants. I was able to get 20%off in InKind credits and also got the credit for the entire bill. I saw posts earlier about only gratuity being reimbursed but I got reimbursed for both.

Rewards Strategy Transferring 365k to Hyatt a bad redemption?

I have the CSR and I’m looking to book a 7-night Hawaii stay at the Andaz Maui, transferring 365k UR points to Hyatt.

I’m wondering if this is the right use of my points. FWIW my partner and I have always wanted to go to Hawaii.

The total cash rate for the time period I’m looking at (May/june) would be around $6250. I’m not very experienced in award travel but 1.6 cpp isn’t terrible? Just want to know if I’m doing the right thing burning that many points.

I got exact reservations for 40% cheap and Chase rejected my claim for a reason that doesn’t make sense.

Asked me to book again :(

Datapoint Price Match datapoint: Approved claim refund less than nightly claim amount (IN PROGRESS)

tl;dr PM claim approved but was refunded less than expected b/c the "refund/cancellation dates don't match"

Sharing this datapoint that is currently in progress with support.

Yesterday, I booked 2 nights at The Standard, Bangkok for late January 2027 via the Chase Travel Portal (CTP). The rate via CTP was around $239/night. I submitted a PM claim immediately using Klook.com and their $194.92/night rate. Therefore, I'd expect a total refund of ~$88 or $~44/night. My claim was approved about an hour ago, but only for a total of $52.16 or $26.13/night.

I called Chase Travel support and was passed from agent Linda to agent Abe; though courteous, both were ultimately unable to help. Abe did most of the work/research. He claimed that the provided refund was calculated/based on the discrepancy that my original CTP had a free cancellation date of Jan. 25, 2027 (the day before arrival), while Klook had a free cancellation date of Jan. 24, 2027 (2 days before arrival). I contested that the PMG policy vaguely states:

The lower rate has the same cancellation and refund policies as the one you booked. For example, a non-refundable rate that’s cheaper than a refundable rate is not eligible.

He claimed that "cancellation and refund policies" meant having the exact cancellation/refund date to the T. I respectfully pushed back, saying that's not what I've heard from previous agents. In addition, that is not my previous experience, as I have an existing (and unrelated) CTP booking that I successfully PM'd with the correct refund that had different cancellation/refund dates (but were both eligible for cancellation and refund). I pressed further, "accepting" his explanation, but requested to escalate/create a support case for someone to explain how the $52.16 refund was calculated given the "difference" in cancellation/refund policies. He obliged, but when I asked for the case number, he declined to provide it, stating that he noted the case in my Trip ID and that future support can see it there. Concerning, but I let it slide.

As stated, this is still in progress, and I will continue to HUCA until I receive an agreeable resolution. I also reached out to the Chase Travel and Chase Sapphire official FB/IG pages for support. FYI, it's the same support team that handles all 4 pages, so just pick one of them to message.

Claim approval email w/ only a $52.16 ($26.08/night) refund

Rewards Strategy Just hit my 100k bonus!

I applied for the preferred 1 day before they made the bonus 100k. I called Chase and asked if they would match it for me, they did. Today I woke up and finally saw that I hit it.

Now what to do with these points 🤔

Product Selection Chase Pre Approved?

Post image
38 Upvotes

Hey all.

I see that I am “pre approved” for these chase cards. I was thinking of getting the CSP sooner or later but I also opened 3 Amex cards (2 personal + 1 business) and Robinhood card last October and 2 other cards in 2024 July.

I used to see this pre approved section before I got a bunch of cards in October but had disappeared since then.

What is the likelihood that I’ll get approved if I apply?

Rewards Strategy Travel Benefits

I just got the CSR. We stay in hotels several nights a year (15+ night) and book with Hyatt Points. We have one non-Hyatt trip a year but our destination doesn't have any listed hotels in the Chase travel portal. I'm having a hard time finding a way to book/redeem the travel benefits. It doesn't really make sense to pay hundreds of dollars when I can just use Hyatt Points. Any tips on ways I can reap the benefits of these cards?
