The failure to adequately integrate local agricultural supply chains with modern retail and hospitality markets has triggered a severe economic leak. Between 2018 and 2020, CARICOM member states cumulatively spent an astronomical US$13.8 billion on food imports. This staggering dependency directly commands up to 5% of the entire region’s collective Gross Domestic Product (GDP). To safeguard regional food security and hit the 2030 milestones, the Caribbean must execute a highly coordinated, tech-driven transformation.
