We've had our 2 girls for ~3 years - moving to Orlando next year. They have a pen to run around in today - but honestly they mostly just scuffle, chase things and bark at people.
Beyond watching for breed restrictions on HOA's, places they can be outdoors a bit and perhaps shielding from neighbors a bit - what are some real world things when house hunting to look for or avoid? We ideally would love some covered outdoors spaces with fenced yard - but I don't see our 3 acres and fenced dedicated pen happening there.

Just got back from taking our 6 month old male puppy to the vet to be weighed. He weighed 80 pounds š³ I was shocked I thought he'd be more like 70-72. Should I be concerned that he's overweight? You can still easily feel his ribs when you touch him and I know that's ideal. Picture of our boy to show his size

Hey everyone, for context, Iām a 23-year-old who recently finished school and just started working. My familyās German Shepherd recently moved away with my sister, so Iām looking into getting a dog of my own.
Iāve always wanted a Cane Corso, but Iām not sure if it would be the right fit for my lifestyle. I work three 12-hour shifts each week, with occasional weekend on-call shifts. My parents are also planning to permanently move back to our home country, so the dog would primarily be my responsibility. Given my work schedule, do you think a Cane Corso would be a good fit for me, or would another breed be a better choice?

Since getting rid of his worms, he has steadily gained 2.5 lbs every week, his temperament is great, he is confident and his bitey behaviors have reached breed standard.

Hi have a 3 year old pitty x cane corso mix. Shes a great dog 95% of the time but the times when she isnāt can be scary. I got her when she was already 2 years old. Sheās shown a lot of resource guarding behaviours and sheās snapped at my daughter several times. She likes to sleep in my bed with me but if I ask her to move over she will growl. That recently escalated to her snarling in my face. I tried to set a boundary and no longer allow her on the bed but if she manages to get into my room she now growls when I try to tell her down, or to leave the room.
Shortly after I got her I went temporarily blind and lost partial mobility of my limbs. I spent some time in hospital and was diagnosed with MS. This changed my life significantly and makes managing the dog a lot harder. It has also seriously impacted my finances and therefore seeking out professional training is out of the question (I just canāt afford it). I also live in a small apartment and have limited space to work with. I feel like Iām in over my head and that keeping her may not be the best option for all of us, including the dog.
Is this a situation where I should be rehoming her?

I figured I would come here for advice instead of any of those other dog subreddits where the psychos want every dog euthanized. But I had another run in with my sister's dog and because I'm not a confrontational person, I'm looking for advice or input on how to address my concerns with their dog.
They have a male corso who I believe is about 3 years old. I'm not certain of his size but he has to be at least 120 lbs. Because my sister and I live a few hours apart, we only see each other a couple times a year and I've only been around this dog a few times, so I am a glorified stranger. So I understand my perspective of this dog is different from them who live with him every day. But each time I've been around him, I leave with some serious marks and scratches and at this point I feel like I have to say something, especially because both our families have young children, and frankly I myself do not feel comfortable around this dog, and especially with my two year old daughter.
The first instance was a couple years ago when he was still just a puppy. We were over to use their pool and I was holding my then infant daughter while walking down the porch steps to the yard. The dog gets let out the sliding door and immediately jumps on me from behind and scratches my back with a deep long scratch from shoulder to my elbow. Mind you I am carrying a baby at the time. I let it go because he was still just a puppy, albeit probably 50 pounds at this point. The reaction from my BIL still pisses me off to this day, where instead of taking responsibility for letting the dog out, he basically blames me for not closing the gate to the steps behind me. I'm sorry, I don't live there. I forgot there was a gate. You should be the one checking. I let all that go because later that day I saw the dog be responsible while on a leash out and about in the city. Though at one point it did jump up on our babies stroller and did come rather close to scratching her face
Flash forward to this weekend, were visiting them in their new home and my niece is giving us a tour while my BIL is walking the dogs. We're coming down the steps when the dogs are on the main level and this guy jumps on me and gets mouthy on my arm while I'm cornered on the steps. This wasn't too bad. I got a little scrap but mostly just slobber. The dog gets taken away and we move on. Probably 20 minutes later, we're in the basement watching TV while the cousins are playing and this dog comes out of nowhere down the steps. I stand up because I'm not letting him anywhere near my now toddler, and try to grab this dog by his harness. He jumps up again and bites down on my left bicep. When my sister yells for my BIL to come get the dog he again tries to pass off the blame saying we were getting him all excited. By what? Just sitting there is another room downstairs? The adrenaline and commotion of the busy day made me not notice how severe the bite was but I've now got three decent size scrapes and bruises on my left arm and my whole upper arm is sore.
I understand this dog isn't being aggressive and this is it playing but the lack of accountability and preparedness for having this dog around new people in the house upsets me so much. All this happened after they just got done telling me it hopped over their temporary fence (which is about knee high) the night before and was on the loose in the dark for several hours.
To me this dog is a liability. They are in a new home in a seemingly affluent suburb, and I'm sure these people would be much more litigious if something did occur. Between careers, moving to a new area, raising two children, and other health/injury issues, I dont think this dog got the proper training and attention it needed and I feel like I have to say something to them about it before something else happens. The thing is, they are/were responsible dog owners. They previously had an American bulldog/staff mix and a Rottweiler mix, who were both lovely. I dog sat for them and loved those dogs. So I'm not someone who is afraid of big dogs. Their other dog is a big ole sweetie. This one though... No fucking way am I spending any time around him and I will not let my kid anywhere near him. The thing is I think my sister knows there are issues, and is too afraid to say or do anything about it because he is otherwise protective and cautious of their children. It's everyone else that I think is an issue. Mainly it's my BIL's careless attitude about it that upsets me and is prompting me to make this a bigger issue now.
Sorry for the rant... I'm done now

Good evening everyone. First of all, English is not my native language, so please forgive any grammatical errors.
I have a female Cane Corso, only 10 months old, so far everything has been relatively okay with her and she hasn't caused too many problems, she has jumped on people but nothing too serious, all in play.. however, in the last week/two she has become more aggressive, she probably has no intention of hurting anyone, she just doesn't realize that she is so strong and that her claws scratch a lot and that her "bite" is painful. It would be totally normal for this to happen to strangers, but this is what she does to her family, when she starts playing she starts to be completely aggressive and runs and bumps into us.. I don't know what to do, will she calm down or is this normal for her growing up?
I want to stop her aggressiveness before it's too late

Iām looking for some good collar recommendations! Purely for vanity because he is prong and e-collar trained so his flat collar is only used to hold his tags.
Heās a big boy and I donāt love the look of all his loose skin folding over his current collar, and I canāt imagine that itās comfortable for him.
Iād like to invest in one that will last and that is made for a thick necked big dog.
What collars do you all recommend?

Gets a bit of an attitude when he wants to play and also doesnāt understand what personal space is. Idk what he weighs now, he weighed 145lb in January, but hasnāt been weighed since his last vet visit. He loves the giant cat toy(rope with a tassel attached to a rod), playing fetch, and doing bite work about as much as he loves eating food and not food (specifically peopleās socks that donāt live in our house).
