All proceeds from this event will directly support lifesaving mental illness and addiction care at The Royal Ottawa (including 2026 initiatives like their urgent care clinic).

I got tired of having six tabs open every weekend trying to work out where to actually play, so I pulled live tee-time prices for about 90 courses around the GTA and lined them up against their Google ratings. Sharing in case it's useful to anyone else.

Twilight Pricing:

• Deer Creek - $39. 4.5★ across 1,683 reviews, $34 under what its rating tier normally costs. Here's the part I find funny: its most common reviewer complaint is literally that it's pricey
• Oakridge, Port Perry - $44. 4.6★, which is the highest rating of anything under $50 I found. Only 270 reviews so it's under the radar, and honestly it deserves more attention than it gets
• Dragon's Fire - $54. 4.5★ over 1,601 reviews. Its reviewer tag is "hidden gem," which is a bit much for a course with sixteen hundred reviews
• Mill Run, Uxbridge - $30. 4.3★, cheapest properly-good 18 I found that isn't a muni.

A few months ago I posted gimme5.co here — the free site that gives every course an hour-by-hour 0–100 "playability" score. A bunch of you gave feedback, so here's what changed over the season:

• Save a tee time → you get an evening-before briefing email, plus an alert if the forecast swings hard before your round
• 10-day per-course outlook (was 5), free account
• Follow your courses → optional 6am daily digest
• Rain start/stop calls are now checked against radar ground truth — a miss gets investigated, not buried
• Wind/heat/storm advisories now cap the score, so a pretty "78" can't hide a warning underneath it

Live example while I type this: King Valley up in the GTA is sitting at 100 — Bluebird day, 20°C, basically dead calm. Copetown Woods out by Hamilton is green all day too. Peak season doing its thing.

Still free, still no ads, still just me. If you tried it back then and it blew a call, I'd genuinely like the second chance — and if there's a feature you wish it had, tell me and it might ship.

Does anyone know of any golf courses around Calgary that don’t pair you up with other players? We tried booking Kananaskis, and it only gave us the option to book as two players. Does anyone know if they pair twosomes with others?

Missed the 72 hour window, looking to just get my deposit back and have someone take over the reservation for this Sunday at 4pm. Courses are Kidd and Lorette front.

I have a tee time today that I've been looking forward to but the air quality is horrible. Would you 'consider canceling? Would it be weird to play with an N95 mask ?

I'm here in Montreal for about a week. I would like to get out on the course and play a round at an executive course or even a pitch and putt. I could use suggestions on where to go and where I can rent or borrow some clubs. Or even buy some cheap clubs at a good will or sporting goods. I have a week in awaits lakes after this and I could bring them with me to game there. Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be great. I'm staying in midtown if it matters. Have a car though.

Can anyone explain how The Hawk (Formerly Peninsula Lakes) things they can charge $100 more than TPC (North) and $50 more than Muskoka Bay.

Wasn't Pen Lakes on the nicer side of average but nothing special?

i built a tool to find the cheapest rounds and tee times in and around Toronto/Greater Toronto Area.

Cheapest isn't always worth it, so here's the list with honest notes on each. These are the prices showing this week, weekday and twilight rates move around constantly, so treat them as a starting point.

if you wanna stay in the city it's basically the 5 munis:

• Dentonia Park (Par 3) - from $31 to walk 18 on a weekday
• Scarlett Woods - $42, right off the 401 at Jane
• Tam O'Shanter/Humber Valley - $58 to walk
• Don Valley - the "nice" muni, $73, proper 18 holes

honestly though, if you'll drive 30-40 min it gets way cheaper:

• Deer Creek South / North — $30/ $40 weekday twilight and best value on this list. Weekend prime climbs toward $105, so twilight is the move.
• Rolling Hills Classic / Challenge — $18 / $23 weekday twilight. Conditions are rough, but as a beginner course it's hard to beat: forgiving, cheap enough that a bad round costs you nothing, and there's always a tee time available.
• Bloomington Downs — $39 weekday twilight
• Mill Run (Uxbridge) — $42 weekday
• 4Seasons (Pickering) — $52. Short course, good for the money.
• Derrydale (Mississauga) — 12 holes, cheap twilight, gets busy. Book about a week out.
