🎉 Celebration Cake Cookie Icebox Cake
Made with about 80ish orange chocolate chip cookies (baked 99) and brown sugar whipped cream. It tastes like a choose your own cookie adventure (the softest at the bottom & crunchier on the tops and sides) of a cookie being dunked in milk

🍰 Just Because Meijer Pancake Cake
Meijer Pancake Cake: It’s no secret that I love a good stack of pancakes, especially when they're topped with a bunch of cake like toppings such as whipped cream, frosting, chocolate sauce, and cookies. What if instead of making my pancakes more cake-like, I just got a pancake cake? Meijer solved my dilemma by offering this cake at my local store. Though it creates the new dilemma of, should it be called a pancake cake or pan-cake? Joking aside, it is a white cake covered in copious amounts of vanilla buttercream frosting. I had been debating picking one up for a while, but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity when I spied it on sale for a measly $6! Cutting into the cake revealed that there’s also a layer of frosting separating the top and bottom portions of the cake. Starting with the “syrup”, which is piping/frosting gel, it adds an interesting texture to the cake, but sadly no maple flavor. To be fair, maple flavor was not advertised nor expected, but it would have been a unique touch. I found the white cake to be relatively average as it was not quite as moist as some of the better cakes I’ve encountered. Lastly is the delectable vanilla buttercream frosting. It reminds me of a line from one of my favorite movies (Star Wars). “He’s more machine than man”, except in this case, it’s the cake is more frosting than cake. It’s thick, creamy, rich, and oh so sweet. The artistry of this cake was phenomenal, but the body of the cake falls short of something I’d get from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Considering the appearance and price, for a grocery store bakery, this flap jack doppelganger is Doughboy approved 😋

💬 Discussion DIY long cake question
Hi everyone. Has anyone made a long cake by buying a sheet cake, cutting it in half, and stacking it, and if so did you have success? I am planning an event and want the whole foods berry Chantilly cake, but also want a long cake. I'm thinking about buying the sheet cake and an order of extra frosting, and cutting and stacking it myself. Thoughts?

Wanted this to be a tangy cake, but I also didn't want the citric acid to affect the efficacy of the baking soda. Still pretty good.

❓️Help Requested Mulled Wine Cake - ideas please!
Last year my sister asked for an apple pie inspired cake. This year she's asked for a mulled wine cake.
Any ideas on how I can bring this to life? A bit difficult because I can't use real wine.
I don't feel like doing a chocolate spiced sponge, but not sure what else to do. Maybe a different sponge, with a mulled wine spiced syrup?
I'm thinking about making a mulled wine jelly layer out of different juices and spices and mixing that with gelatine to add on top of the cake. Or maybe a custard.
I might try and somehow use the same mixture for the frosting. Maybe mixed with the buttercream, but with a higher ratio of gelatine so it holds shape?
I love having different layers in the cakes I make, different textures etc, I think it makes eating fun. So please throw all of your weird and wacky ideas at me!
Thank you!!!!
