Hi CSU community! I'm researching graduate programs and am looking into Colorado State's Professional Science Master in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability. I'm looking to get knowledgeable on mostly environmental policy with some courses in environmental science to set a good foundation (I studied IT in undergrad so this is a total shift).

I live in NJ so looking to either find a program nearby that's in-person / hybrid (which has not been working out so far with my research) or do a fully remote program. CSU's PSM is remote but then has a 5-day one-time experience at their CSU Mountain campus to do hands-on learning like visiting the Poudre River and a local farm. I really value at least one in-person component to these online programs, and this one being short but hands-on is perfect. They also fully support lodging and bussing for the 5 days which is amazing; just the flights would be an added cost.

So the curriculum overall sounds good, and the cost is better than some similar programs (I've been looking into John Hopkins MS in Environmental Science and Policy which is absolutely perfect except it's way more money). It's $733-$933 per credit at 36 credits, so $33,588 tops (for comparison JHU was about $51k so CSU looks good cost-wise).

So, I'd love to speak to anyone who completed this program! Anyone here either do this exact PSM or did undergrad in the department at CSU and can speak to the quality of education, faculty, advisors, etc.?

What time would i have to get there in the morning for parking not to be a hassle?

I have a meeting tomorrow to discuss “concerning activities” from my online proctored exams in my math 118 online course. I didn’t cheat or anything, which I’m assuming could be the only thing they could suspect. Anyone have any history of this and how did it go? They also gave me an incredibly unreasonable time frame to have a meeting to discuss

This doesn’t show in room layouts, but is in the room selection?

My timeslot was today, and there were only Quads and Community Doubles. Was that to be expected? I really would've thought that there would be more singles, given the financial barrier compared to the Single Shared Bathroom and Single Private Bathroom.

Title. I have received some good feedback for both programs, but curious to hear more so I can make a decision. Putting this in the direct subs for each school will bring bias, but I seek information in general. Here is a breakdown of my situation:

1. I work full-time and this will need to be completed online & asynchronously

2. I have a young family (2 kids being less than 4 years old), so super busy.

3. This will be funded by the GI Bill (21 months of benefits left at 100%) The plan is to take 2 classes per semester.

4. Accepted to FSU already, and awaiting CSU's review (both for the start of Fall 2026)

FSU was the first to accept me into any graduate program. It's been "locked in" as my plan to go this way for awhile. I like how this program was co-developed by the US Navy. As a "former" Marine, it gives me that sense of American love and pride once again, as corny as that sounds. Obtaining the INCOSE exam waiver is a huge pull.

What draws me towards CSU is the opportunity to earn the graduate certificate in Human Systems Integration along the Masters of Engineering track. Both programs offer electives in Human Factors Engineering, but I feel like that certificate is a resume booster for my interests. This program, from my understanding, also grants the INCOSE exam waiver if you earn a 87% or greater in their intro to systems course.

I’m going into my senior year and trying to figure out some college things ahead of time. I really liked the idea of CSU and have friends there that absolutely love it but i want a more specific view/opinion. About a month ago I took a tour of the biology/zoology program and it was… underwhelming. The tour made the zoology program feel tiny, which I know isn’t true considering just how good it is. I want to know from current or recent students in the zoology program what’s it actually like? class sizes? is there good field experience or mostly lectures? favorite things? things you don’t like or wish were different? Literally any information on it is super helpful. I should also specify i’m not interested in zoology for veterinary reasons, i want to major in it to mostly hopefully train animals, or hands on rehabilitation. Things like working in a Zoo/aquarium, shelter, training working dogs, rehabilitating and releasing animals with medical problems, relocation, etc. I’ll also gladly take any info/opinions on campus and student life. I’m a colorado native so weather or other state specific things aren’t a big concern for me as I love it here. Thanks for taking the time!

First-year parent who went to orientation this week. One presentation recommended we book lodging for Homecoming, first weekend in October. Holy hell, hotel and STR rates are through the roof!

Any recommendations on where to stay for a couple nights, preferably less that $300-400/night?

So I got a room allotted for this year (August 2026 - May 2027) in Aggie Village Cottonwood. However, as far as I know, entering the premise right now is not possible, so I can't check how they look. There are 3D renderings but I don't know how accurate they are. Has anyone lived in either Aggie Village Cottonwood or Walnut or Lodgepole? How does the interior look, esp. the bedrooms? I took the 3 bedroom apartment.

Trying to gage others experiences… roughly 50% of ungrads at CSU graduate in 4 years, and 67% take 6 years to complete a degree at this school. With the cost of tuition I imagine this info is important for future students, with any financial uncertainty.

So, I was poking around in Ramweb's Financial Aid tab in prep for the upcoming Fall semester. And I noticed the new Colorado Promise Tax credit in my financial aid segment. Then I back out to the list of links under the Financial Aid tab, find the tab, and behold: over $1200 I didn't claim on my tax credits.

So, I just amended my tax forms! Took me 15 minutes to do. This tax credit is apparently brand new, hence why me and many of my friends missed it. Trying to spread the word about it. This tax credit is available for 2025-2032.

If you also like me, did not know this existed, and want to get the credit applied to your taxes, here's how! (Assuming you filed yourself! Otherwise, send the form + these details to whoever claimed you as dependent.)

1. Get the form from CSU within the Financial Aid Tab under "Colorado Promise Tax Form 2025", save it.
2. Go to https://www.colorado.gov/revenueonline/_/
3. Sign in if you already have an account, or sign up. You will need your SSN, Driver's License, and 2025 Tax Return handy.
4. Once signed up, you link your taxes. Should be under "Submissions" in the "More..." tab. It'll ask for verifying details again, including your AGI or another similar verification option for connecting your tax account.
5. Once that's setup, there should be something like "File/Amend and View Returns/Payments". Look for your 2025 return here and click to amend.
6. Click through and verify stuff as needed until you reach the 104 section. One of these pages will have the Colorado Promise on there. Best I can recommend is to CTRL+F "Promise" on each page of this section until you find it.
7. Once you have the field for it, enter the amount listed on the form. Later it will ask you to upload any new documents, and that's where you upload the form from CSU.
8. Continue through, confirm all the normal info, like deposit information. It should default to your bank account you used already, but double check the routing and account numbers still.
9. Once complete, click "View Printable Version", and SAVE THAT. This is your AMENDED RETURN. YOU NEED THIS FOR YOUR RECORDS.
10. Wait, and sign in to check the progress as needed. I'm expecting mine back in July sometime.

Disclaimer: I am not a tax preparer, just sharing this credit I think a LOT of us missed.

I'm an incoming vet student for 2026 and will be bringing a car with me. I'll be living a driving distance away, so I'm planning on buying a parking permit for the year. The map of parking lots is a little confusing - it looks like there's only one small lot for students? Does anyone know which parking permit is best to buy, or if I need to figure out another way to get to campus?

Anyone who is currently enrolled in the Physics PhD program, can I know the state of the physics research being done at CSU, and the various faculty? Thanks.

Student is entering sophomore year and is part of the conversation. I want to make daily life a little easier for my child and am looking for recommendations. I currently am looking at two items and wondering what you think would be most helpful. E scooter to supplement bike and bus or tablet to supplement laptop or are both worth stretching the budget for?
Some details: Living near campus, STEM major (engineering) Student athlete, no car.
What would you suggest?
