Wanting to chase some big lakers. Have a boat. We've got a livescope too - if anyone have a good video guide on how to use them it'd be appreciated as I don't know if anyone in the boat has put many hours on the system. I'm not asking for a particular spot (though won't ignore anyone offering one) - rather just curious if anyone has any general advice for getting em hooked so I can try to get em in the boat.

I've only ever trolled for Lake Trout in Lake Michigan - which is still pretty fun. That said, we do not have a downrigger(not sure we'd need one anyway). It sounds like the current plan is to jig for them. Any tips on how to get em in the boat in August? I'll settle for pics of fish you've taken out of there.

Going to backpack into some alpine lakes in the area and wondering if anybody has tips or tricks for these lakes. I’ve fished alpine lakes before but had no luck. Like what type of strategies, dry flys? Nymphs? Streamers? All help would be lovely!!

Where near Denver can I try? I’ve done Union, Barr Lake and Thornton Gravel Ponds and didn’t catch anything despite fish jumping all around us. (We used garlic power bait and worms).

I fished Deckers for the first time in like 6 years this weekend and noticed TONS of tubers. I quit fishing there because of how popular and busy it got, but I don't remember ever seeing people float it. What gives? I'm trying to not be a curmudgeon but it was genuinely infuriating. The water is so low in spots I don't see how these people aren't touching the bottom on private. Are they just not enforcing trespass laws down there?

I don't know if you will run up against the paywall or not, but this article talks about the latest decision by CPW regarding the trapping of fur bearing animals in our state.

Second piece of this that may be coming along is an outright ban on the sale of any kind of fur in our state. How would that affect flight tying materials? Deer hair, elk hair , pine squirrel zonker strips... Maybe I don't wanna know the answer.

Long shot but traveled last minute to Arvada and didn’t bring any gear, if anyone wants to get out lmk I got gas money or a couple bucks just to use a setup for the day. Mainly swimbait fish for bass but done everything from Sierra Nevada trout trips, musky trips on the east coast and BFT in the pacific. Down to fish for anything just want to have a good time.

Father son morning with beautiful cutthroats right where they were supposed to be. Cold water, blue sky, life is good.

Went up to RMNP today and was hoping to catch my first cutthroat, which I did. I did not expect that to become a full blown bonanza. I’m incredibly grateful for the whole experience. Used barbless only and made sure to keep them in the net submerged in water as thoroughly as possible.

Here’s a pic of the prettiest Colorado River cutty you have seen today. Been learning fly fishing in Colorado for a year on main and south Boulder creek which has been tough, but this experience was validating that I’m on the right track.

Like the title says. where do you guys go? Which app do yall use? I’ve never fished here only back in Texas so I’m really only use to fishing in channels and brackish water. What type of lures works better out here? Any advice would be appreciated!

Caught this one today. Catching Grayling is so much fun - they put up a great fight and seem to have a supernatural ability to unhook themselves early. They are also beautiful fish (In my opinion)

Im headed to fish and camp near deckers this weekend. I'm working on tying up some patterns for the trip. Curious if this forecast is somewhat accurate for whats going on there, any beta would be appreciated.

I’ve fished casually my whole life but I’ve recently gotten pretty into it. I need some good places to catch fish I live in Thornton and most the places here aren’t the best to fish. I want to catch pike as I never have but catching any fish is fun. If anyone has some good recommendations I would love to hear them. I do have a large sort of fishing raft but can’t take it out often as it’s way easier with 2 or more people. So places with good shore fishing would probably be best but anything would be nice.

We usually spend our time at south fork but by the sounds of it we won’t be doing any fishing there in a couple weeks unless Mother Nature decides to cooperate. We will have a 2 year old with us and a rzr. We are very familiar with cutting off a piece of our shirts for toilet paper type of people. So a little backcountry doesn’t bother us. I say that until I’m sucking air like a Hoover vacuum. I guess you can say our little one has kind of softened me up. I used to be ok with going a week without anything but a cat bath. But now days I enjoy a place to tuck my tits in my waistband and relax after a long day fishing. If you’ve read this far….. are you in the bathroom? Anyways…. Shoot me some ideas of where you suggest to go spend about 6 days. I don’t want the desert crap I want beautiful mountains covered in trees or grass. I was thinking about hitting Gunnison area but that’s about as far north as I’d like to go. 5 stars if it’s easy access on a RZR or a hop skip and jump off the trail. Depending on the elevation I may not have the jump in me. 😂 we love small town type places with less people. Totally comfortable with banjos playing in the woods. Please don’t suggest some pay pond or something. I thought about waiting til September and hunt and fish but figure I wouldn’t get in bow range with a two year old yelling “mama” anytime a blade of grass moved. Thanks in advance.
