Wanted to pop in since I just acquired a 99 Corolla two weeks ago. It just turned 92k yesterday. Fun little car to drive around, Tundra been parked since 😂 Reminds me so much of my younger driving days, manual locks, windows, hell there’s even no trunk lever haha. Definitely worth the 3k I paid for it. Let’s see how many miles I can roll with this thing.

You know it's my first car. I never thought I'd get a car so soon and so new and so cool--I used to be so happy. But as I grew to know more about cars, I learned the reputation Corolla's have for being economy cars.

And somewhere along the way I felt inadequate about it. Maybe it's just the human spirit to never be satisfied.

Though instead of trying to fix that void with trying to buy something else, something likely out of my budget, I decided to double down.

I love this car now, if not only because I have made it my own.

So yesterday I bought a 2026 Toyota Corolla SE not tinted.
I ended up negotiating the over all price to 28,200
With taxes included and registration.
I pay $480 a month. I put a down payment of $1500 with an Apr of 8.99% I feel like it was not a good deal

Bought this car 2 months ago. 2017 corolla LE. thought it was kinda odd that I found the number of miles etched into the mount under my hood when I bought it. 69,272 is exactly what the csr read when I drove off with it. Is this just some coincidence? Ive owned a few toyota before and never saw numbers under the hood.

Was cleaning out my 2010 Corolla that I just bought a few months ago and noticed that the floor in the backseat is wet and seems to have mold. I’m not a mold expert but it sure looks like mold. I haven’t spilled anything or left the windows down when it rains or anything like that. I don’t even think I’ve had anyone ride in the backseat with food or drinks either. What’s causing this and how do I fix it?

In April I bought my first Toyota which was also my first “nice” car purchase, I’ve always driven beaters or hoopties.

I love this car and I want to do some slight modifications to it. It is a 2024 Corolla LE.

I do need to fix the trunk, the part that sits over the spare tire is cracked in half and I didn’t realize it until after I bought the car or I would’ve asked the dealer to fix it. What is a good recommendation to fix that? Since the original broke I always like to upgrade from factory, but if I can’t I’m not all that worried about an upgraded fix, just a regular fix is fine!

Second, is things as far as heated seat covers, floor mats, and other things that i might be missing what are your recommendations? I have a 12” sub and amp I’d like to throw in it, but I’m not even sure if it would fit or be able to handle it.
What are your must haves in your Corolla? I’ve already bought a low profile floor jack since the car is so slow to the ground!

I was dropping off a DoorDash order at someone’s house, and when I pulled up to the curb, apparently there was an area where the street started slanting towards the curb all of a sudden. Like I had to back up to get out of it.

I was already quoted 300+ to repair. Would you guys just live with it? I’m so distraught. I feel like I swallowed a box of nails. My poor baby.

Serious question, just changed the oil on my 2020 corolla for the first time, and while the only thing I removed was the oil cap, I noticed those two threaded holes right in front of the oil cap. I feel like something is supposed to be there and it’s not…

Saw this on my 2004 Corolla LE and I’m wondering if it could cause problems? It seems to be some kind of ground wire connected to the frame to the body that was chewed up by something. Car runs and drives great and I’m leaving to go on a long road trip tommorow. Should I replace this?

Its scorching hot, I want to leave the windows open while not in the vehicle.

A Toyota service agent told me that the maintenance/repairs on a 2015 Corolla are around $3k a year (excluding the routine oil changes/tire rotations). A new Corolla is around $25k and that should last about 10 years before needing those major maintenance/repairs.

So why would I pay $3k in maintenance/repairs over 10 years for an old Corolla when I can pay $2.5k a year over 10 years for a new one?

Got a new Corolla and only has 30 miles on it. Any advice on making it last as long as possible? Car washed, oil change, breaking it in, etc. Any advice is appreciated!

I have a friend that is looking at Corollas (we live in an area where the highest theft vehicles are Camry's, Accords and Civics, pick up trucks, and of course Hyundai/Kias) but I am seeing A LOT of complaints about covid and post covid corollas and wanted some feedback. She is aiming more towards the hybrid since she does live just outside of the city but has a M-F 60 mile round trip on highways for work so 50+mpg will be awesome for her. One she was eyeing was a 2024 but I see 3 recalls for that year: steering shaft detachment (sounds fun!), power brakes failure, and the max capacity label being wrong. I also see complaints about the infotainment system locking you out of HVAC controls etc, water getting into the doors, lots of road noise, lots of interior rattling, transmission issues with both regular and hybrid, and horrible paint that easily gets damaged. As owners of Corollas how correct are these complaints and how do you feel about your corollas? She is looking at new to maybe no older than 2024 and plans to keep it for at least a decade.

The knob on my steering wheel doesn't work at all. The button to activate cruise doesn't show anything on my dash, its just completely unresponsive. Anyone else have this issue? My first thought was a fuse.

Bought a J VIN 6MT in 2019. Mostly highway miles, going coast to coast several times to the tune of 176k miles. Canada, Mexico, the works.

I noticed brake fluid under the pedal six months ago. Master cylinder was replaced. Dark contaminated fluid was bled from the system, full of sediment. This should have been a sign to exit….stage left.

Now clutch pedal is stuck down. Car won’t go in to gear. Had it towed to my trusty independent guy. Clutch and slave cylinder have to be replaced.

This is hard for someone like me who is religious with maintenance. Everything OEM down to the cabin air filter. Only other issue I ever had was coolant bypass valve at 150k but dealership reimbursed me after the TSB.

Had a 93’ Corolla in high school that had the clutch master, slave, and reservoir in one assembly for $30 bucks! How times have changed….
