hey everyone, i’m an EE major from the uk looking at applying for a summer internship at cern this summer. I go to a target and have top grades, so i atleast think i can hopefully get an interview - but passing an interview is another thing. basically, in the future i’d like to apply to SWE jobs but right now my leetcode skills are a little subpar even though i have been grinding it. So Im trying to find a good internship I can do next summer anyway that would be good to do but would be feasible without very hard coding at interview. i have one internship under my belt this summer in ML used for quantum computers. what kind of roles at cern should i apply for? what was your interview like?

I had an interview for DevOps GRAE role on last Friday, as it’s been 3 working days, wondering when do they usually get back?

the website for the secondary school job shadowing internship explains that you’re supposed to email the secretariat, however i can’t find anything beyond their names on each of the pages of the departments. once i click on the name, it takes me to a login page which i don’t have access to. is there a formula to CERN emails like [firstname.lastname@cern.](mailto:[email protected])[ch](mailto:[email protected])? or is there another way to find the emails?

My friend from Turkey visited CERN and bought the Standard Model formula mug for his little brother. He did not realize that the mug was completely scratched during their travel back and now asked me if I could get one since I am in Germany, but I live near the Netherlands side, far away from Geneva as well. Since there is still no online shop and I saw some posts here about those mugs, I am here to ask for the favor as well :)

I would very much appreciate it if someone could buy it from the shop and send it to me so I can suprise my friend and his brother when I travel back to Turkey.

A close friend of mine is a huge admirer of the incredible work being done at CERN and dreams of being part of it one day. For her birthday this year, I'd love to surprise her with some official CERN merchandise.

I was wondering if someone on campus would be willing to purchase a CERN T-shirt and a water bottle with the CERN logo and ship them to me in India. I'll, of course, cover the full cost of the merchandise, shipping, and any other expenses you incur.
