Would you comply? Do you feel your local police would respond as these cops did?

Guns & Ammo Can't make up my mind on my next carry handgun.

Tl;dr I want a new CCW and I need to talk to actual shooters and not the LGS salesman. My choices are the RXM, RM1, Echelon and Hellcat Pro.

I'm finally moving on from carrying a G21 and a .38 snub as a backup. That was my duty setup for a million years. I'm a fairly giant dude, so I CC both guns at different times for different trips, but my birthday is next week and I'm going to get a smaller 9mm with an optic. I initially was looking at a wide variety, but there are bundle kits at my LGS and box stores that have narrowed it down. Trigger tests have narrowed it down further.

Currently I'm pressed between the Rost Martin RM1, Ruger RXM, Springfield Hellcat Pro and the Springfield Echelon.

Obviously the Rost Martin is the cheapest, and my only gripe is the slick feeling frame. I like the RXM because Glock infrastructure, and the Springfield triggers and handfeel are just amazing. The Springfields are about the same price as the RXM with an optic.

My thought process on the choices are fairly simple: I can afford to lose a $400-$500 gun, but if I lost a Sig to a defensive shooting I would have to answer to the wife who is scarier than any prosecutor. Grip factor and capacity also comes into play because I hate my pinky hanging off of a gun and I want at least 15 rds in a mag.

Guns & Ammo Fully loaded mags dont drop free, should i be concerned?

Post image

So, ive got a ruger RXM, got a sharps bros grip module. Its almost perfect. And to be fair, with 9mm it is perfect. The 9mm mags i have dont do this but i was going to convert it to a 40sw and potentially a 357 sig. When i load a fully loaded 40sw (glock 23) mag its stiff and doesnt want to drop free. I dont know if that should concern me at all. Since ive im dropping a mag, its probably empty. It drops completely free at varying amounts per mag.

What i mean is, one mag will drop free if there was 6 rounds left. Another one drops free at 10 rounds.

The image above is the gun in question, but thays my glock23 to 9mm conversion barrel and mags in it.

Guns & Ammo What do you guys/ladies carry now in mid 2026?

Not to go into super details, but I’m a guy currently weight at 134 with the height of 5’9. Not the biggest frame but not the smallest. Currently carrying the TP9 elite sc. what are some advice would you give if I wanted something thinner but still have that 13-15 round capacity.

Also I carry appendix and my holster is from Vedder holster. Optic is an Osight k 6 MOA

Wish I could conceal a full size or a 2011, but sometime you gotta work with what you got.

Thanks you.

Guns & Ammo Pick your ammo and move on

Thumbnail blog.hsoi.com

I know that linking blog posts is very 2000s reddit but this one is worth posting.

Half the posts on this sub are about carry ammo. Which carry ammo should I pick? I currently carry Speer Gold Dots; should I switch to Hornady Critical Duty? What about this new 3D-printed Adamantum bullet from Skibidi Tactical Munitions that costs $5 per round; is it worth a look?

There hasn’t been a significantly better bullet in 9mm for a long time. The Federal HST is old enough to drink. The Speer Gold Dot is due for a colonoscopy soon. They’re still top choices for carry ammo. There are new projectiles (e.g. Gold Dot G2) that might be better for law enforcement applications but I’d argue that they’re no better, and are sometimes worse, for concealed carry. There are whiz-bang new gimmick rounds but those just make cool Youtube videos of exploding watermelons.

In short, this is not a difficult choice. Do not waste time, money, or thought trying to find the carry load that ekes out an extra .02” of expansion. Pick your ammo and move on.

Guns & Ammo Best 2nd CCW complementing the bodyguard 2.0?

I just got my BG 2.0 as my first CCW. I loved the form factor, feel, size and shoot-ability. I live in NY though and I want a 2nd pistol for colder climates, ideally a 9mm though 45 is not off the table (though i don't think its absolutely necessary to penetrate heavy winter garments given the 9mm is standard law enforcement and military issue).

I am tempted to buy a glock because NY is banning them next year but I know there are plenty of other great guns such as the p365 and shield plus out there. I prefer not having a huge firearm as my primary intention is home defense and CCW for the colder months, but understand it will be larger than the BG 2.0. The G19 is also tempting as it seems to be the textbook definition of a perfect handgun based on this subreddits affinity.

What gun would you pick and why to complement my BG? Thank you

Holsters & Belts Good soft holster for a s&w shield X?

Post image

My dad bought one of these online and he wants a leather holster for it because they dont rub like kydex. But I think he'd be fine with any holster that is soft and comfortable for in the waist band carry. I havent got my hands on the gun in person yet so I dont know what holster is gonna fit it yet. Any reccomendations?

Other Equipment Favorite Athletic Clothing

Looking to get some input on everyone’s favorite athletic clothing to wear for CCW. Have been seeing a lot of ads for Arrowhead Tactical. But wanted to see if anyone had any favorites. Also will be getting the blackout 2.0 belt for universal athletic clothing carry.

Guns & Ammo Prime Radian or P365 X Macro Comp?

Thumbnail gallery
14 Upvotes

I was impatient and ended up getting an MC9 Prime.

I like it but I think for the money, I would have been better off getting the Radian.

I am considering selling my MC9 Prime and getting a Prime Radian or a P365 X Macro Comp.

I have shot both and really liked both.

For those of you who have tried them. Any input?

Will become my EDC

Thanks!

I get an order for one of these about every 6 months and have to spend about 35 minutes making little tweaks in one place then another because of all the little cavities and underfill needed for this light/laser to work. Who OK'd this thing?? I've been making holsters full time for 8 years now and this one still keeps me up at night. Please don't buy this light lol.

Other Equipment Dropped Holosun 507k

Thumbnail gallery

This is a bit embarrassing and I’m ready for the hate comments.

I put a 507k on my Glock 43X and I used to screws that the optic came with to mount it onto my gun. I even used thread locker and everything seemed fine until I shot about 20 rounds with it and the optic flew off, hit me in the forehead and then eventually pretty hard on the ground at an indoor range.

I’m looking for some insight on whether or not the optic is still fine to use. Cosmetically it just has a few scratches, none on the lens and it still turns on. Are there any problems I should look out for or any specific tests I should run?

Also, I’ve just bought this replacement screw package and I just want to confirm that these are the correct ones: https://chpws.com/product/replacement-screw-kit-glx-holok-v2/

Feel free to roast me but would appreciate serious comments as well.

Thank you

Curious if anyone has tried the enigma micro for the BG 2.0. I have a normal for my P365 but this new setup seems to have a much smaller profile.

Started with the micro p365 and built it to this beauty. I’ve had it about three years and we’re at around 12k rounds and it’s been nothing but reliable
Radian ramjet
Reduced recoil spring
Gold flat faced trigger
Terran tactical mag extension

Guns & Ammo We Sad Souls in NJ can soon carry Standard Capacity Magazines

The federal Third Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that NJ's ban on so-called "assault weapons" and magazine capacity restrictions are unconstitutional. This was a 10-5 ruling of all judges, with the primary ruling written by a Biden appointee and woman of color. We so appreciate the intellectual honesty of the court by calling it like it is, beyond party affiliation. We just got CCW about 3 years ago. What's next, they will allow us to carry hollow points? Times they are 'a changin.'

Holsters & Belts Is there a better way to carry while wearing sweatpants?

Upvotes

I have a Glock 43x, when I wear any kind of belted pant I use my holster, however when I wear sweatpants I find that I have to use some sort of outside bag, since my holster doesn’t work aswell with sweats. Is there a better option? Or some kind of holster more meant for that clothing?
