i sent another message asking what i did wrong to get this post (and the og one) taken down and, surprise surprise, no response yet even tho i sent it basically as soon as i got the message
Being totally upfront: this is a new, small, but built with a lot of heart and a bit of hope platform (web/app), and I'm here for feedback trying to make it better :)
As some of you, I've got tired of existing apps, cai started driving me crazy, trying to find a proper AIO was quite fruitless, so some time ago I decided to put together Everty.ai, and after finishing with pretty standard things like solo & group chats, image generation, voice etc I finally released mode I actually wanted (and among others need opinion about): Narrative Story.
What it actually is - it's a narrator led (kind of a tabletop GM) open-ended story set in one of the user created worlds, using cast of user created characters, supported by full set of world & character lorebooks. Narrators manages the scene, brings chars in and out, and drives things forward.
Here's the setup that may give you a better idea of what I mean:
And a brief example of actual narrated story:
Not all of you are into cRPG, but it would be great to hear your opinion, as it's honestly something I'd wish to keep improving and pushing forward rather than leaving as-is.
Apart from above feature, as I mentioned earlier, you find there quite standard things like:
Solo chat -  companion or roleplay (so either swift interactions or getting into a story)
Group chats -  a couple of characters in one room bouncing off each other, same as above
Adventures - turn limited puzzles that must be resolved with help of selected character
Memory / relationship / mood / character life outside of the chat (you can actually see what char is most likely doing at this very moment without getting into the chat, it changes depending on their 'schedule'), story-journal stuff and some more enhancements
Feel free to try, and drop a feedback either here or in app - critical or not, every single one would be highly appreciated as it will help me to improve it :)
So this is crazy work. I was in the subreddit and I saw a post saying âis it even worth using c.ai anymoreâ. I commented on the post and said âhonestly no, Iâve been boycotting for months and itâs been a dreamâ and I was PERMANENTLY BANNED LMFAOO. They didnât even have a real reason / rule for it so they put the âthis isnât an all inclusive listâ rule đ so basically if you express that you are boycotting you will be permanently banned. Fucking crazy.
They are limiting your freedom of speech people. They silenced a girl who came out about a bot ACTUALLY DOXXING HER AND BANNED HER FOR MISINFO. WAKE TF UP AND BOYCOTT.
Hey guys, Iâve got poly buzz and emochi. Might also get janitor ai and compare them all for one month. Iâll be back with results and let you know how these all go included character ai. Wish me luck! Oh! Also Iâm getting the subscription to all, so just the first and cheapest for all of them.
I've been noticing this a lot, not just in the newer models but with the models I used to love and adore, older versions of c.ai. All these characters act like the user is so unhealthy and we never sleep and take care of ourselves or "you always put everyone above yourself" and "when was the last time you slept?" I honestly hate this so much, I swipe till I run out and they STILL act like this. I insist I'm being normal/ I just slept yesterday and they still act this way.
I yearn for the old 23-24 c.ai when everything was actually fun. It was simple and straightforward - you come on the app, and chat. No extra audio book or movie bs. The difference chat models worked. If one promised shorter respones and simpler answers, it gave that. If one promised more descriptive answers, it gave that. The bots followed and remembered info written about them by their authors, had different personalities and would even give answers accurate to their lore, depending on the character you were chatting with. Now bots regurgitate non-canon bs and authors writing detailed descriptions about them is completely useless. They operated correctly and didn't need a helping hand with everything. Even if you do give them a helping hand now - that doesn't do anything. They don't listen. You got different answers each swipe and the bots responses were unpredictable but in a way where they still stayed in character, opening new paths to where you could take your RP. Every answer is the same now with zero variety. *(I also just wanna note that - I've seen many people say that a low quality bot that struggles to continue rps, spews non canon junk and is basically broken is the result of a creator poorly authoring a bot. I agree, and it makes complete sense. It's been like that since the early days of the app. If you put zero work into a bot, it won't be good. But I'm saying this as a bot creator. Poorly written bots were a huge pet peeve of mine, which is why I even started making bots on the app in the first place. Each of my characters have extremely detailed and long lore accurate descriptions describing their personalities, appearance, their biography, as well as more things related to the setting, time period, and enviorment the RP takes place in, and I made sure of it. If I talk to them now, the boys, like I said, say a bunch of bs and don't follow anything correctly. So I really think this is an issue on the C.AI teams end rather than not creators just not writing bots properly).*
Other than technical issues about bots themsleves; The greed from the company is absolutely insane. We've just seen them start putting out surveys asking users if they'd pay more money for "more advanced AI models". Why should any of us trust their promises of better models when c.ai+ already is, number one, barely functional and is dealing with the same set of issues as the free version is, and number two, just making you pay for features that used to be FREE years ago? This is what irritates me the most. Adding newly developed features and putting them behind a paywall is one thing. Taking things that used to be free of charge and putting those behind a paywall is straight bs.
In conclusion: the devs right now clearly don't have any lasting passion for the app and are just trying to get in our pockets. The only thing I think would push them to actually start giving af would be people doing a mass deletion of the app and canceling their subscriptions (a lot of people are already doing this, which is something at least). I'm overall just really upset.
