Hi all,
I'm considering purchasing either a used or new Buick, depending on what deal I can get. The used market is pretty horrible right now, so I figured it really depends. For any Buick owners, how has your experience been? I've only had experience with primarily Japanese-owned brands. In terms of American cars.. I drove an XT5 and a Wrangler previously. HATED IT! Had so many issues. I would love to hear any experiences Buick owners here have. I've heard some positive things, hence why I'm going to Reddit to ask for even more feedback.
The budget is around $20,000 used, and I'm willing to go as high as $30,000 either used (low/mid mileage) or new if possible at that price. This is more of a vehicle for someone in the family to drive, and of course we want a safe and reliable vehicle. If I do choose Buick, I most likely will be shopping for this car in Delaware or around the metro DC area, so if you've had good experiences with any dealerships in that area, please let me know!

I bought a 2013 lacrosse.
I love it but the rear windshield feels like it’s angled upward, giving limited visibility to what’s actually behind my verified.
Feels like I could easily reverse into something 4 foot tall or less.
Have yall noticed this as well?
Do you all have any work arounds for this?

Probably the third post I've made about this 😂.
The original issue with my panel lights was that the light switch was old dirty and corroded. That's been replaced but the lights in the gauge on the right won't come on.
I don't think it's the switch itself since it's new and there's only one connector for all the instrument lights, maybe(?) a bad wire leading over there but I'm not entirely sure how to check or contort myself under my dash in order to check
(Dropped 2 bulb sockets somewhere deep in the dash, that's why the speedometer looks dim)
Any ideas and advice is greatly appreciated.

I see everybody that owns one, loves them. What I find weird is that I hardly EVER see them on the road. You know that weird phenomenon of when you start looking at cars (or buy one) you suddenly see them everywhere? I've been narrowing down what car to get for just under a year and I can think on one hand the number of times I've actually see them driving around.
It's either a highly sought after car, or there's something wrong that I'm unaware of...
I see Envistas out the ass, every day. The dealer told me he believes it's because comparatively, the Envistas are more car for your money. For the same price as an Envision Preferred, you could get an Envista Aviner, for example.
Personally, I like the 30" screen, the ambient lighting, the fact that it's bigger, but not massive.
So anybody have experience with their Envisions? Specifically the '24-25 models? Anything you would caution me before buying? Gas mileage okay? I drive a lot of highway miles to and from work, does the turbo feel like you can get around people easily?
I currently drive a '22 Mitsubishi Mirage... so this is going to feel like a huge upgrade!

I’m looking at trading a 18 Regal for an Envision ST but was surprised at the gear selector on the steering column.
Was that a deal breaker for anyone? How long did it take to get used to a different gear selector location?

I have a 2019 FWD automatic Buick Encore with the 1.4L Ecotec engine. It's at about 80k miles. In recent weeks, I have noticed an occasional issue where the car is chugging/lurching (seemingly misfiring?). However, there are specific circumstances that correlate with almost every occurrence. It almost always happens when accelerating uphill, either on an uphill on-ramp to a highway or just some steeper hills on local roads (generally 45+ mph). Additionally, the vast majority of instances happen when the air conditioning is on.
There have been no check engine lights and no stored or pending DTCs when I use OB2 scanner. Initially, I suspected that the spark plugs may be the issue, so I checked them out. 2 of them were slightly more worn than the others and 1 had a bit of oil on just the threaded part of the plug. Replaced all the plugs with ACDelco 41-121's. While I noticed a marginal improved in acceleration at lower speeds, the occasional misfire/lurch/chugging is still happening. I also checked the MAF sensor and throttle body to make sure they weren't dirty, and they were fine. Visually inspected the ignition coil pack for cracking/burns and didn't see any. PCV valve (common Ecotec issue) also seems good.
The turbocharger was replaced (under warranty luckily) 2 years ago when I encountered a power loss issue. That issue was significantly more frequent and harsher on acceleration.
I'm kinda running out of ideas. I figured I'd post here before going to mechanic. My worry is that the issue is so infrequent with no DTCs that going to a mechanic may be wasted money.
Anyone encounter something similar to this? My only other guess is that the ignition coil is bad, even though there's no visual signs. Since there's no DTCs, I can't pinpoint any cylinders. And even if there were DTCs, it's a rail-style coil pack so I can't swap coils to see if the problem follows.
Maybe it's just normal? I know it's not a powerful engine and maybe the load of accelerating uphill, combined with AC on, is just too much?
Thanks in advance for any responses/advise!

I need some options for my 89 Reatta’s steering wheel. The stock one (locking plate) is unsalvageable and I can’t find a replacement and need another option. Anyone have any suggestions? Current choices are an eBay post and a VSM ST3011 but I don’t even know if they’re legit. Help?

Instrument gauge
I have a 1999 buick century custom. Im looking to see if anyone knows of any digital cluster gauges or brands that would work for this. I know, I dont want to ruin the aesthetic, but I like the 80s nissan 300zx dashes personally. But, id love to try and get a digital dash.

Snagged this 97,500 mile beauty for 2600 this afternoon. Ice cold air and perfect ride. Could not be happier.

It sits in a driveway. Been there for a couple of years. Battery, tires, brakes, fluids, and whatever is keeping it from starting/running. It was parked running, when owner passed away.
I owned one several years ago, so I know a few of the quirks, and I am capable of doing whatever work it needs.
They’re willing to let it go for $800, or so (my instinct). I told them to let me know before they decide to junk it.
What would you do? I don’t NEED a car. It CAN be a project/flip. I know these babies run forever, but at 11-12mpg, I would only have it for funsies.

My grandfather recently passed and was an avid Buick part collector and seller when he was younger. Dealing with his estate has been difficult because it’s just us girls taking care of it. The basement is filled with manuals and different parts. The manuals are in great condition. He has a living room, side room, back room, garage, and 2 attics FILLED with car parts. He also has 3 old Buicks on the property. Some of these parts have to be 30+ years old. I guess I’m asking what someone would pay for the lot of all these? We’re located in Pennsylvania.

Trying to help my brother diagnose an issue with no luck. While driving, most commonly (but not always) after startup, the car will throw the “REDUCED ENGINE POWER” message, service engine soon light, and immediately sputter and stall. The car will not turn back on until the key is removed from the ignition and the door is open to perform a hard reset. The kicker? When the car is started back up, it runs and idles fine, there are no OBD II codes in the system, and it often does not do it again. The issue is extremely intermittent, only showing up every 2-6 weeks, though sometimes it has happened twice in a day.
Any ideas on what to check? The intermittent symptoms and full stalls needing a hard reset worry me to think it could be a PCM issue. Any leads on things to check, look for, etc. are appreciated before it heads to a shop.

I have an opportunity to get a buick lacrosse from a coworker for 3500 and paying him 500 dollars a month till its paid off. It has a very clean carfax. Drives very clean. Just looking for buick owners input on if this is good buy.

Was not looking at these cars outright but my friend is moving to Germany in a few weeks and wants to sell his car. It’s a 2013 Buick encore, 140K miles (iffy fs), no accident history, clean title. Is it worth about 6k (I think that’s about what he was asking) as a first car or no?

My 2007 Buick Allure didn’t come with the chrome accents on the side trim pieces, and I’m wondering how I can get them looking like that. Would it make more sense to get some from the scrapyard, or is there some sort of chrome finish paint I can use? I don’t need it to look great up close, I just want it as a nice accent to the car’s look.

I have a 2012 Buick Regal Turbo (2.0L LHU) with about 148k miles. I recently replaced the engine coolant temperature sensor, and shortly afterward my check engine light came on. The original codes were P1101 and P015B.
I cleared the codes and drove the car several times. The check engine light stayed off for a while, but eventually came back. When I scanned it again, P015B was gone, and now only P1101 keeps returning, usually after I've been driving for a minute and accelerate.
The weird part is the car runs perfectly fine. It starts normally, idles smoothly, pulls hard under boost, and I don't hear any hissing or unusual turbo noises. It doesn't feel down on power at all.
So far, I'm thinking it could be a dirty MAF sensor, a small intake leak, a PCV issue, or maybe the MAF itself starting to fail. Before I start throwing parts at it, has anyone with an LHU Regal or similar GM 2.0T dealt with a P1101 that only comes back under acceleration while the car otherwise drives completely normal? Any advice would be appreciated 👍🏻

Hey, I have noticed an issue where my wife's iPhone does not connect via Bluetooth to carplay on her 2025 Buick encore, over cord it works and my android works fine over Bluetooth. She got a new phone and the same issue persists. It is connected via bluetooth and has been repaired a couple times (works for like one car ride on a re pair) anyone else experience this? Thanks!

Hey all, my girlfriend is having an issue with her shifter recognizing that it's in park or when changing gears. It seems like a really common issue with the shifter assembly, and I've seen some say replacing it fixes it.
Has anyone had this issue and solved it by replacing this? Let me know what your experience has been and how you solved it if you've had this issue. Thanks for the help everybody!
