Bunny infestation??

Has anyone in the bripp or mk experienced a plague of bunnies this year? It's the first time we've ever had to put a fence around our garden. They are EVERYWHERE. Every flower and plant seems susceptible. Very annoying.

Broad Ripple is Finally getting a Steakhouse on the Strip

Was walking by the corner of N College and Broad Ripple Ave and saw that they’re building a Hamilton Walker steakhouse and seafood beneath the parking garage is. Looks like there is only one other location in Illinois. Has anyone been to it before?

2 IMPD cop cars sitting for over a month.

Does anyone know why there has been 2 IMPD cop cars that have sat in the parking lot by Hubbard and Craven’s (Carrollton Ave / E 62nd street) for over a month and a half? Is this something I should call non emergency and notify? Seems very odd it’s been a long time and I notice every day I get my coffee.

Van Lifer activity

There seems to be an uptick in #vanlife folks popping up on Cornell between 65th and 66th Streets. Yesterday I counted five vehicles in that block that I’m pretty sure are being used as residences. To be clear, I don’t care all that much if they’re not being a nuisance, even if I think it’s kind of annoying. But lately there’s one in particular that is a trailer hitched to a pick-up truck scrawled with all kinds of Hickman-esque religious scribbling. This one stands out from the rest (not least because the owner regularly takes up two parking spaces). I’m making some assumptions here, but IMO it gives off a somewhat less stable vibe than some of the others. I don’t really have a complaint here per se. Just wondering if anyone else is noticing the growth of this little micro community.

BMO joins Chase and closes operations in the village

With the way banking is heading I imagine Huntington will leave soon enough. Not to make light of business closures, but this could be a great opportunity for a visionary to revitalize the long struggling western portion of the strip. Hopefully fortune is favorable and the people that are holding the dilapidated shoe repair building hostage sell and that little corridor can get some wind in its sails.

Finding a rental

Castleton/broad ripple house/apartment renting

Hey everyone, I’ve been scouring through zillow and apartments.com with no luck so far! Really just looking for advice for searching/recommendations and, if you have it- ways to improve my credit 😅

I’m leaving the westside and looking for anything and everything above 56th street and preferably on/short distance from the nickleplate or monon trails. Close-ish to 465 helps. Aiming to move out of parents last weekend of July.

I’m a 20 yo solo renter, earn 60\~k a year, currently looking for about 1300-1500 or less rent, Have paid off all my debt/have stocked up my emergency fund, and am rebuilding my credit (520 right now, dropped 80 after my credit line closed :/ ) after a rough job search during the first half of 2025.

I do have roughly two years of previous rent history at my first apartment, all on time payments

I’m hunting for preferably a single family home with a backyard/ garage for woodworking hobbies/ kayaks and bikes, but will go for apartments(have been eyeing Avery Point, anyone have any opinions?)

I do also smoke thc outside, I don’t have a problem quitting if it’ll stop me from getting a good spot.

Who else’s bike got stolen last night?

My bike got stolen off of my car bike rack in my apartment garage, which is locked and connected to my apartment complex. I found multiple cut bike locks on the ground as well near the bike rack, and I heard from other people in the neighborhood that their bikes got stolen last night. What the fuck? i’m sure bikes getting stolen is fairly common around here, but this seems like a lot. Especially three from the same rack?

police were useless, of course

What contractor decided to light up the grass patch and not the trial? And the banner posts are also on the same side? Unless the light beams are wide enough to light both road and trail. Still looks aesthetically wrong

Versa Apartments in Broadripple

Hi guys, does anyone have any input on Versa apartments? They're having really good specials right now that would make them pretty affordable, I was just curious about the complex and community? Also could someone explain the parking? Their automated email response didn't give much information and I'm not really wanting to spend an arm and a leg for parking.

Does broad ripple have a culture/happiness issue?

Hello, I am a 22 year old woman and I have recently moved out of Bloomington Indiana to be closer to my work. I have lived here close to a month and just feel like something feels weird. A decent amount of my interactions with people here genuinely make me feel like residents here don’t care for each other at ALL. For example, I run often and have always ran and I have never had such bad interactions on runs as I do here. People rarely wave, greet u, or even just look your way and smile. Instead it’s like people are watching u to make sure you don’t get too close or are on their property. Additionally, every gas station I go to here for some reason the people who work there always act like they are annoyed I am shopping there!!!! It’s every day whether I’m on the road or making a quick stop to get food people actively seem like they are looking for some reason to get mad at you. That all doesn’t include the HORRIBLE drivers. People here genuinely drive dangerous, not because they drive to fast or because they are aggressive, but I consistently see people breaking basic traffic laws like running stop signs and red lights or not merging from and ending lane and just zippering in intersections (big one).

I don’t want it to sound like every interaction is bad , as it’s only like 20-30 %, but when moving from a place where it felt like most people at least were happy by your presence it is jarring. And I realize that some areas down here are a little nicer than others and that effects things greatly (I live in a not so nice area), I still feel like some of the negatively and rudeness is just unwarranted. I have really enjoyed downtown broad ripple as well as all the community events it has hosted (mainly flea market stuff), but the greater atmosphere seems like there is just a rainy cloud over everyone. I am trying to remain positive and spread positive energy but feel a month in and drained. What should I do

*also my DoorDash has either been stolen or been tampered with an unusual amount since I’ve moved here (DoorDash is my worst habit lol)
