I came with my bridesmaids and best friend’s Mom (in place of my mom) dress shopping.
The first dress I tried on everyone really liked it and everything else after couldn’t compare.

Then my cousin brought out the last dress she didn’t think I liked but convinced the dress assistant to give it to me to try on. Ended up LOVING it!

So I was torn between the first one and the last one.

so I’m standing there in front of everyone on the pedestal in the dress. And the assistant says we’re out of time. And then I literally had to make a decision right there in front of everyone while they’re watching which dress I was gonna pick. He said there’s a sample sale and I can’t put dresses on hold and it may not be there when I get back.

I didn’t even have time to think about it. Everyone was just staring at me making the decision and talking to him. Now they all know how much it costs and it made me feel a little embarrassed

With altering, it will probably be close or less than 3000. Which was over my budget but I could do it if I wanted to.

I ended up saying yes 🥲🥲 I love the dress but the price hurts….

reflecting back, I wish I had done more research so I don’t feel pressured. I’m not sure if other places let you put dresses on hold so you can think about it or look elsewhere.

Just got my hair done yesterday for my wedding on August 7 and wanted to show it off. Love my highlights 😍

So my fiancé and I decided to mix our party and pay for our bachelor/ette party airbnb for a 3 night stay on the beach. We would split apart for each day and do our thing but rn we are looking at a few different destinations. We have been to none of these places and need input on which would be the best option.

Hey fellow brides i need help!
We are in contact with my dream venue that is just a little above $5,000. It includes ALOT.
What im having issue with is that we are contractually obligated to have this specific wedding planner. They assured us that they do day of coordination.
When I contacted the coordinator they told me that they no longer do day of only month of, which is a bit above $3000.
Our budget is $10,000 with a $2000 wiggle room.
However we now cant afford the wedding coordinator now.
So do I;

A) take out a loan to pay for this wedding that is now looking to be around $15-17,000. And if you did this what was your experience? Was it worth it? Did you regret it?

B) Talk with the venue and see if they will this one time let me diy everything ( I have a production design degree im fairly confident I could do it)

Or
C) Cancel everything take an L and lose the money Ive already paid and do something else?

I’ve been trying to get my engagement photos scheduled. I booked a package with my photographer that included engagement photos and she never initiated the conversation regarding it. I realized four months out we never booked. I haven’t heard anything from her about my wedding since booking months ago. I’m starting to fear that she was just expecting to show up and wing it. My wedding is in less than three months.
I made my initial request in June and she responded saying she was pretty booked the next few weeks and asked when I wanted them done. I took a while to respond which is on me but it’s been a couple weeks since that message. I messaged last night and nothing. She hasn’t even opened either of them.
I’ve paid a $750 deposit already.
Nothing to set up a time to talk about a shot list, no initiative to book my engagement session, nothing. What would you do?

I am way over budget for my wedding (😅😓) but I still need to get my girls gifts for the day of! Any ideas or practical gifts they will actually use?

First of all, thanks to everyone who weighed in. it helped me keep a bit more perspective on the wedding day and see my dress with clearer eyes. I know the dress was fine and isn’t important in the grand scheme of things. It just was an unpleasant experience and I feel like they weren’t being completely truthful with me. I particularly appreciate those who suggested a second opinion because I got that and I feel so much better about my dress. I now feel like I have a little bit of mental bandwidth back and one less thing to be concerned about.

I picked up my dress today, just told them I was picking it up before it is pressed, and they didn’t argue at all and gave me the dress. I sent the photos to my officiant’s mom (she is a professional bridal seamstress, has made numerous wedding dresses) and she said she could look at it tonight. I brought it to her and she confirmed they took it in, but only a quarter of an inch (and that could have been between my June and July appointments). She is fixing the bust (there is still gaping with the boombas) and is adding sewn in cups that fit me so I don’t have to rely on the boombas staying in place (I sweat and haven’t had good luck with them). She is adding a hook and eye closure a half inch above the top of the zipper, which is making the waist fit correctly and will make the back lay flat. It’s still a low back but it just will fit correctly and I won’t have to worry about people seeing down my dress if I lean over. The real kicker however is that the hem was completely uneven! I should have known when she took the hem measurements without me standing on any elevated surface. So she will fix the hem. She will get this all done in a day or two.

I feel so relieved and I know I will feel more confident in the dress. She was so nice too. I felt heard, and not like I had to change my body to fit the dress (Because it should be the opposite!). She immediately could tell which bridal shop it was based on my description. Apparently the woman who says she is the head seamstress is a salesperson and not a seamstress. None of the seamstresses who actually work on the dress actually interact with the customers.

I will be contacting my bridal shop and let them know my experience at one of their recommended tailors. I will also be leaving reviews. If they hadn’t been so unkind about everything I probably would have just accepted the dress in the state they gave it to me and do my best to hide the disappointment. They charged us over $900 for an uneven hemming, a slight take in along the sides, taking up the straps a little, and somewhat fixing the apex (bust seams). I know bridal tailors are expensive because they are highly skilled and working on elaborate garments but this seems a bit egregious.

My seamstress berated me a few weeks ago for losing too much weight to the point I was in tears (my vendors have been awol, my fiance ruptured his Achilles tendon the same day as my new job- I lost 5 pounds between May 5th and mid July due to stress. I also have 4 cystic zits on my face from stress). My wedding is August 1st. Last Friday I asked them to take the waist in a smidge. Today I went in and they said they did take in the waist. It doesn’t look any different. I know this is such small potatoes compared to everything else but I’m frustrated that it seems like they are lying to me. The first photo is from Friday and the second photo is from today. In the second photo I do have boombas in because there is gaping at the bust otherwise.

Hey everyone! I would love some advice because I feel like I'm going a little crazy....... For a little background, I'm getting married in early 2027. Luckily I have an event planning background, so I've been doing almost everything myself. Not bad and saves us money. Our wedding budget is around $15k, and the venue is about a two-hour drive from where we live. From their we are overall chill people With all of that said, here's what I need advice on. I honestly feel like no one in my wedding party really cares, or maybe in a better way to put is that their energy constantly goes back and forth between caring and not caring. Before anyone says anything, I kind of feel the same way about my fiancé's groomsmen, but no offense... they're men😅.

Without sharing too many details in case someone sees this, one example is my bachelorette weekend. It was an in-state, three-day, two-night trip. My wedding party, who all live in the same state, came, and I also had a few friends fly in from out of state. We rented an Airbnb so everyone had a place to stay and we had one central location. The itinerary included a show, a sleepover, and we had originally planned to have a nice dinner. Honestly, my bachelorette weekend was... mediocre. 😪😕 I don't want to sound ungrateful because I did have some great moments, but I ended up doing about 85–90% of the planning and prep (not including paying for things that was split between attendees). I booked the Airbnb, made the party bags, went grocery shopping, and handled pretty much everything. No one even decorated the Airbnb for me, even though hinted that I would like them.

The sleepover was fun, but no one really took it seriously. I had planned crafts and wedding games, but barely anyone arrived on time or seemed interested. When I tried to get everyone involved, they'd do a craft for a few minutes and then stop. It honestly felt like a waste of money, and now I have a bunch of leftover supplies sitting at my house. We also never had the nice dinner. I tried to get something figured out. But in my opinion, everyone seemed tired of the weekend and didn't really want to celebrate anymore. We ended up just going out for drinks, and that was it.

Now for the second example. My wedding is less than seven months away, and I'm feeling even more anxious. My bridal shower is coming up, and I still haven't gotten much help from my three bridesmaids (I originally had four, but that's a long story). I sent a group text asking for help with my bridal shower invitations because they needed to be mailed by 3 p.m. the next day, and only one person responded. There are a few other examples, but honestly, the more I write, the more anxious I'm getting.

Am I overthinking this? Has anyone else felt this way while planning their wedding? What would you do in my situation?

Has anyone bought wraps for their bridesmaids? I am getting married in mid-October in the Midwest, where weather can be unpredictable. Sometimes it’s warm, other times it’s cooler at this time of the year. I am hoping for some outdoor pics if it isn’t raining. The church tends to run a little warm and I would expect the reception venue to be temperature controlled (it’s a museum).

Any recommendations on wraps? Bridesmaids dresses will be emerald green, accent color is gold (ties for the groom/groomsmen). Bouquets will be sage green, burgundy and light pink florals (can’t remember the other colors of the arrangements, but I think that covers most of them? Maybe some burnt orange?).

i was just quoted $785 (in northeast florida) for dress alterations and being someone who has no experience in this field i wanted to come on here and get opinions. i have no doubt this seamstress will do good work as she is highly rated, but ill be honest i wasnt expecting it to be close to $800. i know everything with weddings is expensive though and the dress is detailed but im curious if this is reasonable or not?

Hi all, I bought a bra that I thought would be great, then i wore it for a wedding and it sucked. Im hunting now for something similar for underneath my dress. I want to have something with better support and wont migrate down throughout the night, i have a large bust and it doesnt do strappless well. Ive seen SO MUCH online and have hit decision paralysis I think. I also want it to act a little like shapewear? The boning in this is plastic and is letting me down i feel.

Hi everyone! I’m getting married soon with a very small wedding and no official wedding party. One of my best friends is getting married shortly after me, and I’m a bridesmaid in her wedding. I’d love to put together a "bride-to-bride" gift box for her to open on the morning of my wedding that includes items she can actually use for her own big day.

I’m trying to avoid typical bridesmaid gifts like emergency kits, jewelry, or anything personalized. So far, I’ve decided on a blue handkerchief that she can use as her "something blue." Does anyone have creative, non-traditional suggestions for what else I could include? Thank you!

I would like to clarify a few things first:

1. The dress was not made by AI – it is Mirror Palais. I am not based in the US and it would be too expensive for me to buy it, so I was thinking to recreate it with some changes locally (Europe). The purpose of my post was to gather ideas for alterations/get general feedback.

2. I am not the model, but I have a similar figure with the exception of my bust which is much smaller (no cleavage showing). I also probably weigh a couple of kilograms more, but the proportions are similar.

3. The civil wedding will most likely be in Vegas due to the legal hurdles in my country, but it will be followed by a very small ceremony (think us and our immediate family only) in a Catholic church here in Europe.

4. It appears that churches in my country are much less conservative when it comes to how much body is showing, because I regularly see brides wear dresses with visible boning, see-through fabric around the waist area, visible built-in bras, slits on the skirt, strapless/off-the-shoulder style, etc.

I am using AI to make some alterations to the dress I posted earlier (no ruffles, different fabric, length, neckline shape, etc.), but in the meantime, I am also considering these two designs. What are your thoughts? Would these dresses (both would be tea-length) be more appropriate? What style of veil would look best with them? Any red flags I should be aware of, or something to add/change you can think of?

Hello! I’m a current bride in Oklahoma trying to have a budget wedding. I found a beautiful wedding venue over the weekend that requires a partial or full planner. I was not aware how much planners were until I started going through social media with prices staring at 2.5k plus. I can’t afford to go through the venues preferred vendor list but the only thing that brings me hope is that they have a pre approval process for any vendor. But i can’t seem to figure out how to find a more budget friendly planners. I just don’t see the reason to spend that money when I’m doing my own center pieces, have my own table cloths, ect. I have a family member who is a dj and another with a restaurant for catering. And don’t mind keeping contact and planning everything on my own. I just don’t know what to do..
