So after the included 8 year onstar basic trial subscription, it looks like you don't get access to the entertainment apps, and google maps anymore, or does that just mean they don't give you the cellular data, and you can still use your hotspot for your phone and the infotainment music apps will work, and will google maps offline work, and with hotspot will google maps get live traffic back?

I've been recently looking at changing insurance because my rates have gone up 20% 2 straight years for auto. I noticed on one company (American Family) these terms: "No vehicle on the quote has modifications that alter its performance." I personally have Super Cruise because I was able to trade my 2020 with MSRP value into a 2023 EUV and even got some money back from GM lol I have the check, so I maxed it out with Super Cruise. so far, I've been able to get deals on Super Cruise, but it would be pretty annoying to pay full price for the capabilities (no lane change, mostly highways), but is anyone familiar if Comma AI vs Super Cruise could affect liability from your carrier given those terms?

I never thought I’d be ordering a 2027 Bolt, as I’m still desperately in love w my 2019 Bolt Premier (in Shock)…but a distracted driver coming out of the Costco GAS STATION a couple of weeks ago gouged a channel down my passenger side, effectively totaling it (ca. $18K to fix it).

Costco currently has that great $1200 certificate thru August—also the Costco discount. On top of the “allocation” thing (each dealer is allocated a meager number per week—sometimes that’s 0!); the real nightmare is the “batch of 30” concept, i.e. they require 30 orders of the EXACT model (incl not just color, but extra packages etc) before they’ll make one! That means I, who want a 2027 Bolt RS W Tech pkg in Atomic Yellow, am sitting at #18 of 30.

I took my $1,000 deposit to the dealer yesterday—salesguy says that improves my situation, as that marks the order as “sold.”

I’m here to say that if you’re even thinking about a 2027 Bolt in that configuration and color, you might want to jump in NOW to be sure it happens, especially given the current Costco certificate deal. We can join together for a noble goal: getting 30 more Atomic Yellow ‘27 Bolts on the road (and one of them in MY garage)!

NOTE: I keep calling it Cosmic Yellow for some reason, but it’s ATOMIC Yellow. A bit more radioactive.

I've been reading people posting they have issues on the 2027 Bolt where the charge port won't lock to the charge cable preventing the car from charging, and the workaround is to plug and tug, where you push all the way in and slightly pull out and then the charger cable locks, then it charges normally for AC and DC charging.

But for the ones that got the charge port replaced under warranty, did it work normally without doing any workarounds and no more issues as well with the delayed unlocking after?

I bought a used car with a lot of miles and its sitting at a lifetime 4.2 miles per kWh. I can barely manage to get 3.7 on average during daily driving. I assume the previous owner did less highway driving than me but they managed to put 60k miles on it in 3 years so I'm not sure that can be true.

Does yours match up?

If you replace your wiper blades and don't want them I would be interested in them for the end caps. I want a few as spares incase I break one while replacing the rubber blade. In Bergen County NJ area.

This morning I drove my wife to the Airport for an early flight with our 27 Bolt LT. It was about 4 a.m., so it was dark out. I was driving with the headlights on, obviously. But I noticed the lights seemed to illuminate the road signs as they came into view or change brightness as I drove. Is this a thing/feature, or was I just operating on little sleep? Just wondering if this was a hidden feature, as this is by far the most advanced car we have ever owned, we are coming from a 2011 Kia Rio, and our other vehicle is a 2014 Highlander.

2027 Bolt LT. My partner came home and started the update when he parked today. Tonight he plugged in and it said it was plugged in, but not charging. The plug lock kept coming on and going off.

I took the car for a ride around the block and a “high voltage charging system” error with the red car and exclamation point came up.

We tried rebooting infotainment and that didn’t fix it. He’s currently disconnecting the 12v battery to see if that clears it. This is the first issue I’ve had with the car in the 3 months or so I’ve owned it, never any issue charging before this latest software update.

Just hit 88K miles on my 2022 Bolt EV. OEM tires last me 50k miles and now on CC2’s. Average efficiency on CC2’s over the last 30K miles is 4.1 mi / kwh. Had to take a picture with all the matching 8’s on the odometer. A few dings, a few scratches, and I drive about 400 miles a week, this continues to work perfectly.

Previous vehicle was a light green 2019 Leaf with the 40kwh battery and I miss that color tbh.

Hi, I'm stuck in decision paralysis and I could use some input from 2027 Bolt owners!

My lease is almost up on my 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 Pro (31k miles), and I'm debating whether to buy it out (VW is offering an extra 3k incentive so final price would be $22k) or to switch to the 2027 Bolt LT. I found a dealer that verbally agreed to match a $25k offer I saw for the '27 Bolt. Looking to buy instead of lease now since my mileage needs might vary a lot.

My needs would be mainly city/highway commuting with infrequent road trips.

I leased a 2018 Bolt before the ID.4 and honestly loved it despite the battery recall, though my passengers weren't always happy with the ride bumpiness. I've been mostly happy with the ID.4 - driving/handling feels great and it's been reliable so far, but the shitty soft buttons and glitchy software are unfortunate.

I test-drove the Bolt and Equinox, but the Equinox felt kinda clunky to me. Guess I'm spoiled by the nicer handling on my ID.4 despite being about the same size. I was also considering an Ioniq 5 and I love the way it drives, but the ICCU issue would give me too much anxiety (and it's a heftier price tag)

What I like about the Bolt:

1. LFP Battery - I'm in Southern California so heat is more of a concern than cold. I'm hoping to keep this car for a long time, and the greater number of charging cycles is pretty reassuring to me. I haven't tested my ID.4 battery for degradation, but even after full charge to 270 miles I feel my actual range is always a good bit lower.

2. Price, if indeed I can get it for $25k

3. Ease of parking, though ironically the ID.4 actually has a much smaller turning radius than the Bolt despite being a good deal longer

4. (mostly) physical buttons and door handles - one of my biggest gripes about the ID.4 is the shitty soft buttons that I constantly hit on accident and how hard it is to tell if the passenger doors are unlocked

5. Front-located charging port (I've had some struggles with backing in the ID.4 to charge in crowded parking lots)

Concerns:

1. The lack of Android Auto/carplay and eventual paid subscription for car data. I would probably try to hotspot from my phone instead of paying a single cent after the free subscription ends, but it's really annoying on principle to have to find a workaround just to get what almost every other EV already has for free

2. Parts availability/service difficulties due to 2027 being a one-off for now (though tbf it seems ID.4 will have that discontinued issue too)

3. General comfort/build quality does feel like a step down from ID.4

Replacing the battery in a week or two. H4 AGM, already in hand.

Here are some intermittent issues and anecdotes:

• turn car on, back out, get moving... Hvac and stereo turn on but touchscreen has "BOLT EV" logo, and it does not disappear to reveal controls. Hvac and stereo settings cannot be changed. Normally i pull over and power cycle the car, which clear the issue (sometimes needs 2 cycles)
• normally i never, ever see the "keep you eyes on the road etc etc" acknowledgment. Ever. But there are times when i see it on 2-3 consecutive startups. I acknowledge and carry on, but this is not consistent behavior.
• low speed camera (front facing) stays on when at high speed. This is more fun than the "BOLT EV" graphic described in bullet point #1 but it is the same: no access to the touch screen until power-cycling the car. One time it DID resolve itself and disappeared, to reveal the functionality of the home page on touch screen (hvac/stereo controls restored)

There is no date sticker on the existing battery. Bought this car a few mnths ago with no service history.

I am starting with the standard step 1: replace 12v battery. I am thinking beyond that, and wondering if others have had these symptoms, and/or solved them (and how)

Bought our 27 Bolt RS back in May and are quite happy with it. I have a few questions for those in the know:

- is there a way to see the battery drain over time, like a report or something like that?

- I only seem to be getting 360 - 380 km from a full charge instead of the listed 420. Is this just because it went 8 days between charges, and it lost some sitting in the driveway?

- When planning a long-ish trip (~500km) how long do budget between charges?

I've never owned anything from GM before and I'm trying to get used to the change. I'm LOVING my Bolt so far, but I'd love to know some things that you all have learned that I might like to know. I have no expirience so just lay it on me.

For example, should I be using 1 pedal driving on the highway? I've been disabling it. I only use it in the city.

So I bought my euv in Feb, super cruise and onstar wouldn’t work, had telematics module replaced all good super cruise works yay! Now 5 months later still works but I don’t have a onstar subscription so I can’t see my car on my Chevy app for starting unlocking and battery stuff… I’ve tried logging into onstar website and it just loops to log in again over and over. Have I glitched my way into free super cruise? Is the old owner still paying for it but not knowing? Also is it worth speaking up to access my car through the app, or keep quiet till super cruise quits working?? Thx all!

Looking like in about 2 weeks the Chevy App is putting remote start behind a paywall.

Pretty much from the start, my 2023 EUV would have a loud creak when going over speed bumps or pulling out of driveways. It never seemed like that big of a deal, but knowing my B2B warranty runs out in less than a year, I had it checked out.

The dealership said it was the rear axle, and they replaced the whole thing. I assumed it was going to be some bushing or something. It would have cost almost $4k if not for the warranty. So PSA to those out there with the same thing, get it looked at.

This does make me wonder if those extended warranties from Knapp are maybe worth it.

Has anyone bought the Chevy vehicle-to-home powering system? I got a call from GM to pitch it. The equipment runs about $7,000, and the GM guy estimated installation at another $7,000 or so, and this is for a house with the electrical panel in the garage right by the car. The costs seem exorbitant. We were quoted less than that to add a battery to our solar system. I can't figure out why anyone would get the Chevy system.
