Question First-time Boise visitor considering a pet sit in Northwest Boise — what’s the Saddleback Park area like?

Upvotes

Hi! I have a chance to do a last-minute pet sit in Northwest Boise, near the Saddleback Park area. I usually research neighborhoods pretty thoroughly before committing, but I do not have much time with this one.

Can anyone familiar with that part of Boise tell me what it is like? I’m in my 30s and this would be my first time in Boise, and I definitely want to get out and explore. I’m especially interested in live music, arts, entertainment, good food, coffee, and local spots.

I’d also appreciate any insight on walkability, nearby parks or trails, traffic, and how easy it is to get from that area to downtown or other parts of Boise. I’ll be working remotely and caring for pets during the sit.

Thanks for any local insight!

Discussion Garden City Has Already Amended Its Regulations on E-bikes and E-scooters.

I’ll probably get dragged for my opinion, but I’m glad they did, as a lot of people use them to commute. E-scooters, regardless of wattage, are allowed on the greenbelt with a 15mph speed limit, can be on roadways, as well as e-bikes. E-motos are however still banned, which is fine with me as we all know the packs of North End Surron kids are actual menaces.

It is irritating to me that the main cause of a lot of the negativity towards e-scooters are the Lime kids. As they’re rentals, they have no skin in the game as people have spent sometimes thousands of dollars on their choice of micro-mobility, so they ride recklessly, don’t pass safely, and take up both lanes of the greenbelt. I think there should also be a minimum age limit on them.

Ready to get dragged, and for thoughts on this.

video explaining changes

Edit: spelling

Question Does anyone use the city bus regularly to commute to and from work?

Title. I've heard mixed things from people saying the bus is randomly 15 minutes late or just doesn't show up. I've used it a few times but not for work. I want to know if it is reliable.

Question Wedding photographer for a bride who is very worried about getting her photos taken

Hello! My fiance and I are having our wedding in Boise next year and we're very excited! So far wedding planning has gone quite smoothly, but one source of stress for me is the wedding photos. I have body image issues and almost never like what I look like in photos. I've never had professional photos taken of me (besides my siblings' wedding when I was much younger), and I've never even really done photoshoots with friends. The idea of feeling ugly in my wedding photos makes me feel on the verge of tears. At the same time, not having any wedding photos also feels upsetting.

Does anyone have any recommendations for wedding photographers who are good with people who are nervous or have issues with self image? Thank you so much!

Discussion Accident Attorney recommendations

Hello everyone. My car is likely to be totaled because the repairs are more than the cars value. My car is only worth about $9000. I'm not expecting the insurance payout to be more than that. So I need an attorney that's gonna get me the maximum out for a brand new car. I was very happy with my life and happy that the fact that I had my car paid off and that I don't have a car payment. Now because of this accident , i'm going to be burdened with a brand new car and a payment that comes with it. I don't even like the new cars these days. They're too flashy. I don't like the screens. Im not injured. I just want a bigger payout because of the inconvenience of having to deal with the new car payment. Any accident attorneys that are not injury atorneys , that would help me. Thanks all.

Question Storage unit and random question

Does anyone have a recommendation for a storage unit?

Need to move some stuff out of my distant relatives house and into storage until I can deal with it.

Anywhere in the treasure valley is ok.

I just don't want one that's sketchy or something.

Second question,

I'm in town for a few days and wanted to know if there was a good place to watch the sunset, somewhere scenic.

What's your favorite place?

Any any info is appreciated

Question Redfish lake camping

How available do the first come first serve sites at Redfish lake tend to be during weekdays this time of year? Looking at the website it looks like there’s a lot of walk in campground spots (Sockeye, Mt Heyburn, Mountain View, chinook), and with all these options it seems like we’d easily be able to find a site somewhere but with how popular Redfish is I’m a little worried we’d drive all the way out and not have a site. Thanks in advance!

My wife and I have been married for a few months. I have been using the gym at my job, and she used to use the one at her old complex. We are no renting a duplex. We are not hard-core lifters but are wanting to maintain out health.

I have heard good and bad things about villa sport. I am just curious what everyone else has to say and see if there are any hidden gem that people know of. Thank you for your help

Question Bachelor Trip Recommendations

tl;dr: 15 guys downtown for a bachelor party, first week of August, heat's gonna be brutal. Float and breweries are covered, need morning ideas.

Bringing a group of 15 guys downtown for a bachelor party right around the first weekend of August. Forecast's looking like upper 90s/low 100s, so our plan so far is float the Boise one day and hit a few breweries, but mornings are what's stumping us.

  • Got golf booked one morning already, so mainly need ideas for the other days
  • Looking for something low key but fun before it's too hot to be outside, coffee spots that can handle a loud group, breakfast places that won't kick us out

Not really trying to hike in that heat, but open to it if there's a way to beat the sun. Open to whatever is fun and would also like to hear what to avoid. Staying downtown so walkable is a bonus. Trying not to have the guys just sitting in a hotel room until float time, any input helps.
