Looks like the lady opponent also tried to sneak a double move in with her king to reach that pawn at the very end, but maybe it's some type of move I don't know about. Is there ever a time when a king can move more than one square at once outside of a castle?

The little man won (playing as black). The adult (playing as white) was trying to promote their pawn but was forked by black, which allowed black to stop their pawn promotion (but sacrificed their knight). Black then started to make a pawn promotion move of their own, forcing white to try and race their king back to stop it and, white, just before they resigned, made an illegal move with their king (moving it two spaces instead of one).
I'm not sure if the move was in bad faith or not, but the spectators immediately let white know that it was an illegal move and there was an immediate resignation by white after the move.

just to be clear to /u/ravenwillowofbimbery or anyone else who doesn't know from chess ... "pawn promotion" means getting a pawn all the way across the board, where it can become any thing (usually a queen, the most powerful piece).
By it self, it does not win the game, but if that player has the only queen, or if they have two!! then obviously the other player is unlikely to be able to win.

The kid did. From promotion of the pawn but the guy quit vs continuing to let it play out, plus the guy did try to double move his king when he hit the timer it was an illegal move 2 illegal moves is an automatic forfiet.
