She won on 20 years of local experience and practical issues like transportation, city services, communication, and accountability, not national Democratic politics.

grassroots is super important messaging, one that I wish more people understood. the republicans very much understand the importance of who's on the school board, not just voting for president.

I sorta figured it was something like that. Given the location and voting history of the area, she was probably really fucking good at her job.

Which is something Democrats need to copy with slightly different issues on state level. States control elections, gerrymandering, so much.
