The ultimate commuter bicycle frame material

Hello! I live in the Netherlands, and I commute to work by bicycle. Some 15+ km one-way. I do not have an e-bike, and I do not want my next bike to be one.
While I am cautiously eyeballing titanium frame options (idworx, Pilot Cycles, and some others), I was curious to hear the expert community’s perspective.
Thank you all in advance!

Pretty new to building bike parts and i need some help.

So i ride a Lapierre Pulsium 5.0 and ordered a Elves Orome AeroPro cockpit. Unfortunately i don’t know whether they are actually compatible and what kind of spacers i need.

First time assembling a whole bike - is my fork diagram correct?

Just bought a new frame and have no manual about assembling it. Made a plan about installing it but im not 100% if it's right.

The bearings have a 45 degree slope on one side, I'm assuming that part has to touch the frame (frame also has those slopes)

I think I only need to choose one of the green marked parts (as I understand, they are just different styles of covers)

What I'm still not sure about is the order of the things and the plastic ring right of the aluminium compression ring (yellow marked). Do I need that part at all?

Doing a new build and I’ve ridden both tehse setups - shifting is identical.

But I can’t decide which one I like best. Frameset is the Cannondale Supersix Evo Hi-Mod Gen 5 in gloss black.

What do you think looks best?

Thank you.

need thoughts on ordering new wheels!

Xbiking hated my original rack, but now I need some wheel building color feedback for the hoops. Right now I am thinking either matte Gold with black spoke nipples/spokes, and matte gold novatec hubs, or matte Grey or black with gold spoke nipples and said gold novatec hubs.

Replacing a bottom bracket

Hi. New to bike building. Actually I’m just rebuilding a bike using the original parts for the first time. Just new handlebars and and shifters and saddle eventually. Some other things need replacing though like the bottom bracket for example. I want to make sure I get the right size bottom bracket. There are so many numbers to consider while window shopping for square taper bottom brackets online. I definitely do not understand. I might find a bottom bracket with matching size numbers online, but it will often be accompanied with other size options that aren’t engraved on my original bottom bracket. I don’t know what I’m supposed to measure. I feel like this is probably something that is really easy to get right, but I’m not getting it unfortunately. Hoping to get some help please and thank you. Here are some pictures of my original bottom bracket.

Clip-On Aero Bars for Prime Primavera Aero Carbon Handlebar?

I tried mounting clip-on aero bars on my Prime Primavera Aero Carbon handlebar, but there doesn’t seem to be enough clamping space. I reached out to Prime Bike Components, but their email address doesn’t work.

Has anyone successfully mounted clip-on aero bars on this handlebar? Is there a trick or compatible adapter that would make it work?

Hi, I'm having trouble replacing my mn26 front fork. The steering tube is 25.4 but it is 28.6. The 25.5 is rare and bespoke. I think a new fork with the new correct full bearing set may work but I need cheering on!? By someone knows what they're doing!

I’m still very new to bike building, so this should be a good one for me. Shifters and brakes still work great, but definitely needs new handle bars. It has newer Kedra tires, but I want to replace them, so any recommendations would be much appreciated!

Bottom bracket spindle length problems

Thumbnail

I have a 73mm bottom bracket on an old Kona Sutra. This bottom bracket has been a pain in the ass since I built the bike. The chainstays are super wide and the chainring has had issues clearing the frame

So I've had a 73 x 127mm square taper bottom bracket that sorta solved the problem, but square taper bottom brackets are shit and I want to rebuild this bike with some nicer components.

I tried to fit a standard BSA BB with Shimano hollowtech Crankset but the spindle length is too short, the chainring clears but the crank arm does not. With spacers the spindle won't insert far enough to install on both sides.

What the heck are my options??
